My special needs son says that F unit at 28:14 is former Canadian National #9177 he remembers seeing it in 2 Greg Scholl Video Productions videos called Snow Plow with CN F7's and Plow Extras. He glad to see 👀 it again he wondered where it had gotten to and hopes it is still there and will be restored to operation real soon or sooner than soon as well as the other F unit #407, caboose #903107, and the C&O snow plow #914021.

Ugh.....hate I missed out on Q197 when it used to run over on the S-Line. Saw it a few times on the Georgia Road but now CSX rerouted them 😒

Most (not all) of the coal on this line comes from the powder river basin and is destined to Washington or Vancouver for export to India, next Vietnam, and less to China. We see about 25 freight trains per day through Livingston. They run 24x7 - no quiet times for Buffet. During red flag high fire periods they mostly run at night. We occasionally see Boeing jet fuselages and contained jet engines moving from St. Louis to Washington for final assembly. Boeing tries to avoid using Buffet but some things can’t be moved by truck.

I've got a few photos of New Bern from back in the Age of Steam. You'd be surprised how many tracks and structures that were there back then compared to now. There was a Roundhouse and Turntable west of the station at one time, along with a track running up the street from Jacksonville that met the A&EC at a diamond in the street in front of the station.

Live Nearby in Spencer everytime i cross the bridge over linwood yard i always see trains parked there crew changes or switching cars so to be fair the entire yard isnt closed but some of it is.

2024 update: 15t/16t are back on their original shenandoah vally line.

I used to do contract work for NS on the Virginia Division. I traveled all along the H-Line from Hagerstown, MD to Bristol, TN. One of the most beautiful place I saw along those rails was at Arcadia. I even took my wife there one time so she could see it first hand when we were vacationing in the area.
