Hi Jack.. thank you very much for featuring scripts :) And I know now where to clean up 😂😂😂 some of the screenshots where actually from old versions... where still has wofi and foot.. Ill probably add the option for more wallpaper to download. Thanks for pointing out the numlock. I actually didnt thought about that since I dont have numlock. I still struggle with the sddm on opensuse cause even I install with or without recommends, it just stays black blinking cursor.. And yes, I am actually daily driving now opensuse and once I completed for nvidia, Ill install on my laptop. And since you mentioned you like opensuse, I gotta make that flawless 😊 Regarding the difference of looks on the arch and opensuse, I believed that you got the old dots when you tried arch and when you tried opensuse, Ive pushed an update thats why Anyway, thanks again. ❤❤❤ And you help me identify some of the flaws... ps, is it ok for you if I feature this video on my github?
You're quite welcome! Thanks for the additional info too. :) I don't know if it helps but when I installed OpenSUSE I installed the Generic Desktop. Then I ran your script. After restart, from a terminal session I installed Sway & sddm, removed lightdm & enabled sddm. When I manually installed it a few months ago I did the same thing, except that I installed Hyprland (per the Hyprland wiki for OpenSUSE) after logging into sway. - Regarding positing the video, yes you are always welcome to re-post any of my videos anywhere you wish. 👍👍 I forgot to mention that I also needed to install yad in OpenSUSE for the weather popup. The pop-up worked but it was blank. It acted like yad was already installed, but I installed it from the console anyway & it started working. 😊 I'm glad you changed to rofi menu & also changing to kitty for the terminal, I like it better than foot, lol
@@jackkeifer Thanks for the feedback. I have installed opensuse with server install. In that way, if I can make it to work, should be able to work on any DE.. I did try to install with generic desktop option, but its installing lightdm and icewm by default, which I avoid that. Opensuse has a weird and special way of installing some apps. i.e, when you try to install waybar (zypper in waybar) it will pull and install sway, swaybar, swaybg, alacritty as well ... same when you install sddm (zypper in sddm) it is pulling like 75% plasma lmao.. Thats why I have to put --no-recommends on it to avoid downloading those unneeded stuff. Thanks for pointing out the yad... would you mind sharing me your weather app? it looks actually nice and it looks like its a worth to make it as default weather app
I have no issues with sddm and this build of Hyprland. This Hyprland config is my daily driver on my TW. I just install sddm-qt6 during setup. That seems to solve the issues.
Its amazing. I tried it on Arch linux first, but since I could not configure a network in server installation of Arch, I installed opens use with enlightenment and installed Hyprland from there, now it looks amazing. It looks more polished than Hyprland without enlightenment for some reasons. Don't know why.
hi Jack, thank you for the video. Ja is one of the brilliant guys at hyprland side. i'm curious, did you installed sddm while you running Ja's script ? im using ArcoLinux too and there is Xorg with lightdm as default. i have no idea if sddm is mandatory.
On Arch I was already using SDDM, but had to install it on OpenSUSE because it was using lightdm on my Generic Desktop install. I thought I chose "Y" for sddm during the script install, but no sddm afterwards, so maybe I missed it. Not sure. LightDM doesn't work with Hyprland so I have to replace it with sddm. 👍
