@TulseLuper I agree, they absolutely butchered his speech. I was there on the night and he spent a fair time talking about Heath Ledger and how we only saw the tip of the iceberg of his talent. They completely edited all of this out. Appalling of Bafta/the production company to recognise someones achievement and then only present one side of their acceptance speech.
What I didn't understand was why BAFTA made such a terrible tribute montage that only seemed to focus on the Python years -- Tideland was completely left out -- and why they had the temerity to butcher his speech.
At least they put the full speech on the bafta website
