Hey mate, gained a follower after this. Exactly what I was looking for. Is the rafters and the floor brace 6x2 timbers. Just got my first pergola build
Top class work mate love how you take your time with things and do it properly even going the extra mile and treating the end cuts good preparation and perfectly executed job watched a few of your videos now and am thoroughly enjoying them Iam a time served joiner myself however I've been doing roofing for the last 17 years and now and run a small roofing company really enjoy watching other tradesmen that do good work and have a passion for there work keep up the great content mate just subscribed 👌
Just started watching your channel TJ and all your work looks fantastic and very professional
these videos are great! thanks for making them. really enjoyed it.
That's really smart lads.. Fantastic job
That’s smart asf, you lads did a cracking job on that
Thankyou I appreciate it
Awesome work. But i would say the wooden posts will rot and replacing them will be a huge expensive job. You can get steel/metal anchor/brackets that go into the ground , then the wooden posts are bolted into them.
Excellent video! Just the method I've been looking for. Really useful. I'm going to have a go at this in my garden. Hope I can get in touch for your carpentry services if I need an extra hand!
Good job guys everything looks clean and exact
thankyou
Looks great!!! Well done gentlemen 👍
Looks great, awesome job!
Nice job , I’m going to copy it 🎉
Another tip pal don't measure nogs separately if you put your joists at 400mm they should all be the same distance apart normally last one will be different tho but take the distance from the fixed end.
Keep up the good work tho lads only trying to help you out. 👍
Nice job as always 🎉
Brilliantly done ❤
Beautiful design guys. Nice tool inventory!
looks amazing!
Beautifully done.
Great job man. Is the roof slanted slightly for the rain water?
Looks fantastic ❤
Cracking work!
Thanks mate I appreciate it
most people leave out the part with the cement but some people are dumb like that and its always best to have everything u need when ur working but always cement stuff like decking and poles stuff like that in just in case the wind or something pulls it out and away
plus to make it stable
Good job lads.
I built my pergola 7 years ago - same method . Some decking boards showing slight rot at the ends even after pre treating . Not too sure how long the thin strips of the roof will last though on yours . Must be a bugger to maintain ? I'm also a Dewalt guy . The 850 is a beast .
Looks nice lads but I’d worry about it bouncing in the middle I’ve done quite a bit of decking and all ways concrete post posts on every or every other joist it looks to me like that will sag very quick but yeah it does look smart
this looks great!
Thankyouu
Eye-catching Work. Nice job 👍 What Timber did you use to create the privacy screens? is it treated or cedar? looks great
Great video 👍👍 how is the flexvolt chopsaw and table saw ? Flexvolt circular saw is my next purchase as I have used it and it is amazing. Unsure how the chop saw/table saw would hold up though in terms of battery life ?
Nice work lads. That toolbelt looks handy, be careful though, that hammer could give you a nasty suprise if you sat down too quickly..lol!
Keep up the good work.😊
Do you have any content showing how to set your 4 posts? Making sure they're set in the right spot?
That's gangsta AF. Nicely done.
What finish/paint did you use on the decking?
just an FYI, Nails provide more shear strength that screws; but doing both is the best!
that tree stump is an eyesore beside the nice pergola.
Hi there, any chance you can share the sizes of the timber you used? ( Post, roof braces) thanks
Can bitumen be used on decking boarda
Ttfdowg it would be really good if u do more of vlog style videos and also vids like showing how u started up wat struggles u went through kind of like ur journey thus far also a van tour etc
alright I will try work on more of these videos thank you
Hey what table saw is that and does it run on batteries?
What sort of timber did you you cut down to width for the sides and roof(cladding)??
Looks nice mate
Use dressed tile batons all pre cut 4 u at timber yards
No posts for the decking joists? Won't it sink?
Just a tip for the next job mate any joists or rafters should always be crowned up ⬆️
Looks 👌
thankyouu
Did you bitumen the post below ground. ?
What's the size of the roof joists?
Hi, would it be better to cover the whole membrane with gravel instead of little patch of sand?
Yes 10 mm peas
How much would that cost ? Im considering getting one done
How much to you cgarge to build
The battens on the slatted screen are not all straight. Some are even touching.
How much did you charge for that?
not enough 😂😭
Just line the top up
Couple more stumps wouldn’t have hurt, can see some sag coming
I hate doing decking
Membrane pegs dude ......🤔sand wtf
Posts will be rotted out w/in 5 years
'for some people, the pleasures that others derive can cause pain'. I suspect you look at a doughnut and only see a hole.
Please share your infinite wisdom with us and tell us how you would do this 🙏🏻
@@paulmorrison30any lumber that touches the ground does eventually rot. The design is nice, just need to replace the post with lumber treated wood.
@@Darvineb86 Not when it’s surrounded by postcrete. Wood rots, concrete crumbles, iron rusts, and people die….Nothing lasts forever.
yeah, I don't get why they treated the ends of the floor boards they cut but they weren't using treated lumber? Here in USA treated lumber is a distinguished color... not sure if it is like that across the pond. That other guy that responded to your comment has no idea about building materials. He must think concrete (sorry, 'postcrete') has no moisture in it or doesn't absorb moisture... lol He should go read up on how porous concrete actually is.
Don’t understand why ppl can’t pronounce pergola correctly. It’s per-guh-luh not per-goal-uh
Do you have a Instagram account
yep it’s linked in my description
