  • Benediction offered by Rev. Chuck King.
    Hymn text by John Kent set to the Welsh tune Ar Hyd Y Nos. Organ and brass setting by John Ferguson. Joshua McClure, Organist.
    'Tis the church triumphant singing,
    Worthy the Lamb!
    Heav'n thro'out with praises ringing,
    Worthy the Lamb!
    Thrones and pow'rs before Him bending,
    Odors sweet with voice ascending
    Swell the chorus never ending,
    Worthy the Lamb!
    Ev'ry kindred, tongue and nation--
    Worthy the Lamb!
    Join to sing the great salvation;
    Worthy the Lamb!
    Loud as mighty thunders roaring,
    Floods of mighty waters pouring,
    Prostrate at his feet adoring,
    Worthy the Lamb!
    Harps and songs forever sounding
    Worthy the Lamb!
    Mighty grace o'er sin abounding,
    Worthy the Lamb!
    By His blood he dearly bought us;
    Wand'ring from the fold He sought us;
    And to glory safely brought us:
    Worthy the Lamb!
    Sing with blest anticipation,
    Worthy the Lamb!
    Thro' the vale of tribulation,
    Worthy the Lamb!
    Sweetest notes, all notes excelling,
    On the theme forever dwelling,
    Still untold, tho' ever telling,
    Worthy the Lamb!
    Performed at "Join To Sing The Great Salvation" a worship service serving as the graduate conducting recital of Michael Devine for the Luther Seminary/St. Olaf College Master of Sacred Music program.

    Worthy the Lamb! And that was so glorious! Worthy the Lamb! God, who inhabits The praises of Zion, worthy are You and ‘let the earth be filled with the knowledge of God as the waters cover the sea!’ Amen and Amen! How beautiful! How glorious will the singing in heaven be? I can’t imagine- but that was surely a mighty indication! Loud as many waters, united as one, proclaiming, ‘Worthy the Lamb!’ Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful! In worshipful adoration! Amen! Amen! Amen! O, come, Lord Jesus! Worthy art Thou 🕊️👑🌹
    Thank you, blessed heavenly choir and the man in the organ! 🙏❤️🌹

    Two years down the line, I'm here again. This time slowly reading through the lyrics of this timeless hymn that speaks of God's throne and worship in heaven like very few others do. If worship on earth be so sweet, what then shall it be in heaven? God preserve us to join that celestial choir someday, in Jesus's name. Amen.

    Thank you, John Ferguson, for that lovely setting that truly revered that great hymn. You built to a beautiful trumpet gently yet strongly supporting the last hymn.
    The melody in the Lutheran ELCA hymnal is also Go my Children With My Blessing. I ran a small Lutheran special Ekementary school and on School Sundays that was such a warm loving expression to play as families sang it at the end of our services. It still touches my heart as I recall delivering those words for each of my beloved students.

    This Welsh tune carries so much depth to deliver the emotion of the message.
    Lutherans since Go My Chikdren With my Blessing as a "sending song" you feel the Love of the Divine as the melody so powerfully delivers it.

      my dear mother sang the same to me, and those were the words she sang. when i heard this today i could not move, i did not think, i don't even know if i breathed...i saw her sweet face, amd my tears poured. i lost her a few days after her 51st b'day. i loved that woman, and things such as this are such a bitter sting. my mother had an unbelievable deep and refined alto singing voice. i guess that is one reason i love to hear choirs. l'll always love you mother. rest.

    There are much larger and more expensive pipe organs around this world and thanks to youtube, I've heard my share, but I have never heard one as awesome as this one. And a pipe organ is only made more beautiful by the accompanist, which in this case, is totally, totally awesome. Smooth, smooth, smooth! Listen with headphones and you'll be even more blessed!

      It's a Holtkamp - Cleveland, Ohio. Even Albert Schweitzer ( as in co-editor the Widor-Schweitzer editions of the works of J S Bach and missionary to Africa)was amazed at the sound when he visited America.

      That Holtkamp (a Schlicker rebuild) indeed gives glorious new meaning.
      Heard it first several years ago at a Minneapolis national organ convention,
      and not over it yet. Of course, only the best would do for St Olaf's John Ferguson!

      i certainly have to agree w/ the statement concerning the holtcamp. it is beautiful. the holtcamp in St. George's episcopal, memphis, has many nice stops, but the organ committee shed us of that instrument and brought in a something known as a "flentrop"???
