I share the assumption that a single totem is a more obvious, but I suspect I don't know how those cultural practices actually work. The people I've spoken to with actual heritage similar to that had several different animals which were sacred. And totem poles seem to have a few too, from what I've seen. Probably not something a DM should rule on over a player choice anyway.
It's a weird one just because you don't unlock more abilities of more Totems until you level. You also are making your own so it isn't necessarily "what the tribe is doing". I can see it going either way.
@@DapperSnapperGaming I always enjoyed that old cartoon about the space cowboy with the talking robot horse. Strength of the bear, ears of the wolf, Bravestarr; eyes of the hawk, speed of the puuuma. Bravestarr. Multiple totems is as normal as one.
That's a fair point. I'm also not fully versed in how these things work culturally so I can't really weigh in on that but as far as game mechanics wise, it is nice that you can mix and match and I guess you could "discover" the power of another as you travel. Either way is fine by me in game.
Can you do eagle or elk build?
I will for sure do more builds for this subclass. There are so many different combinations that one build can't nearly cover the capabilities

That sounds fun! As long as none of the enemies can fly anyway...
