Whole band . Some of the best musicians on the planet right there.
You are so right! Never get tired of hearing them play. It’s also entertaining to see them play with the amazing talent of people like the late Tony Rice.
To be in the audience when that band was onstage was dammed near a religious experience. Most certainly it was a privilege every time I’ve seen them. They are all just Monster Musicians.
You got that right. Some of the best in the business.
When it comes to bluegrass music, it really doesn't get any better than this. Alison and the guys are top tier musicians; it's an absolute joy to hear them play. 😻😻😻😻😻
alison krauss and the union station should perform for aliens if they ever demand what kind of music on earth is played
Show me what you got!!
🙄
Not one weak link in this ensemble. Every musician here is outstanding
I have never come across someone who can interpret music like Jerry Douglas.
Try The Transatlantic sessions, J. D. shared M.D. duties with Ally Bain and they share the stage with the best Folk/Celtic musicians and singers on the planet.
Watched JD live last night on Tommy Emmanuel's show in Suffolk. He played so well for the first hour, but I just couldn't like what he was doing. Very relieved when he'd finished. When he came back on at the end of the show and accompanied TE for the last 5 tunes it was wonderful.I feel that a DoBro should be either accompanied or accompanying; never solo. Just sayin'...
He wrote this ‘en. ❤
I believe he wrote this.
I believe he wrote this.
What a bunch of extraordinarily talented people!! Always a pleasure to watch Alison Krauss and Union Station!😊💒
For sure.
Yep! True Talent them 😜 southern soul
The man of constant sorrow' is a wonderful part of this band. Such loyalty to her, despite his own noted fame.
I never thought I'd headbang to some bluegrass, but it happens with this song!
+Stefanie Star ,, think of it as newgrass
+lesterclaypool1 What differs it from regular grass?
Who could thumb down this. Even if you dont enjoy this style of music the musicianship here is absolutely outstanding. I favor hard rock but I would be the first to say Alison Krauss and Union Station is musical gift from heaven. Thumbs up!
Pickin' and a Grinnin'
Where do y'all think hard rock came from? Some stranded hillbilly out of shine.
Weapons grade talent on display here. Just stunning.
I've been lucky enough to see them 3 times, no one is better live, no group of musicians more talented...and then Alison....
I hope so bad they tour once more
Such a collection of sheer talent. Not only do they give to their fans, but they give guidance and encouragement to the young, up and coming talent. Nickel Creek for example.
This is the track that always rescues me from a dark place
WOW.....Alison saws that fiddle! She is fantastic! I love Bluegrass!!!
A true super group. Each and every one of them one of the best to ever play their particular instrument. Incredible.
I get chills every time I hear this. This song is a live wire if there ever was one.
I remember the first time I heard this. WoW
There will never be an end to how many times I play this.
And Alison just RIPS this fiddle when she comes in...As good as any guitar shredder I know...It just kicks ass.
this arrangement has the most elegant layering... I am so reminded of Vivaldi's Four Seasons.. just builds on itself reconfigures and moves on! brilliant...
Imagine the years of dedication this requires. And this was in 2002! They are still doing it same lineup. Amazing. The best in their genre.
I have seen these people Jam a few times and concerts and they will liven up the crowd let me tell you that lady can send her voice is like heaven
God set Alison down as a spirit and gave her a gift.
No, THE BEST musicians on the planet
whether or not you like this music you have to say these guys are great musicians and the sound is perfect
The best of the best, at their best. They send shivers down my spine.
It’s perfection, pure and simple.
This band has the best Ears in North America or anywhere else in my opinion...Awesome listening and timing and just great musician ability...Love AKUS...
They are truly the best ever
Nominated for a Grammy. One of the few they did not win.... 14/18 going strong
I can listen to them all day, and do❤️🎶🎶🎶🎶
Excellent musicians one and all...
They sound just like their recordings. That's talent!
A towering example of the genre!
Hot stuff. Some of the best there is or ever was. Thank you for this video. Glad I came across it.
What a composition, it just carries me right along......
The skill, energy and composition is just beyond. So good and never gets old.
Barry Bales...undersung hero of Choctaw Hayride, I have always felt this song takes off when Barry starts his stuff in the second iteration.
I don't think of myself as old, but I remember when music like this used to be considered good. Almost 20 years old, so I guess I'm old now.
This is just one awesome song and JD is really such a great musician...
Absolutely beautiful.
My goodness. Unreal
What an eclectic group of musicians from any time or genre
OMG, awesome performance, all musicians are top!
best melodies I've heard yet....this style is so great the martin is a jem.....
Hard to believe that's been 20 years ago. Where does the time go..........? Jerry Douglas knocked one out of the park on this one!!!!!!
You just cannot beat this music. Terrific!
Jerry Douglas Rocks!!!!!!!
Top notch musicians!
I enjoy hearing you speak Alison, perhaps the first time i've been so fortunate
Great job as always! I have never heard of " Hell Broke Loose in Georgia" but I have been to Helen(Hell-in) Georgia!😁
Love the chemistry between dan and alison
@ruth little search TH-cam for Alison Krauss Dan Tyminsky Patient Safety Movement. There's a vid about an hour long of the two of them doing a benefit show. They have great personalities and are fun to watch together. And can sing together like nobody's business!!! :-)
I love the energy build up
and exciting climactic chorus here. Very nice.
Jerry Douglas wrote this. He was here with his band last spring, opened with this one. Lordy.
Un lujo para mis oídos 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Oh that band can play!!!
I love this stuff!!!
Unreal talent. Highbrow classical music doesn't hold a candle to this type of genius inspired from not only the brain, but more importantly, from the heart. I choose the latter combo.
Perfection redefined 😲😱
Never Ever Gets Old! ❤
Fantastic music. ♥
Perfect example of perfection
top of their game stuff from every one of these musicians.
So good
Ron Block awesome Banjo 1st class

My favorite song of theirs...What Douglas does on the dobro gives me chills.

Superb!
Jerry Douglas can rock that dobro. No one is better than him, hands down. Such an amazing sounding instrument when played by him

Check out the collaboration between Jerry and Tommy Emanuel on TH-cam recently. They’re on tour together, wish I was near.
I was there!
SPETTACOLARE
Choctaw!!!!!!!!!!
This will be blocked in Germany soon, because TH-cam doesn't want to pay royalties to the German royalty board GEMA. However, here's my humble rendering:
Choctaw Hayride
Hah! Luckily still isn't!
she was with US a long time ago too
Allison love that dobro player
Made Oswald very very proud
😊😊😊😊😊😊
Amazing musicians 😮 whatever happened to this kind of country ?
bluegrass. there is a lot of it out there.
There's never been this kind of music. I've listened to Bluegrass all of my 73 years and AKUS is in a class by themselves.
That's Some "Hot Pickin"...🎵🎶🎵
UFFFFFF!!!
Bust it out Ron!
👍
Jerry Douglas is the GOAT
Fuck me to tears!

So much power in Jerry's rake 3:20
Jerry Douglas is as good as there is!
Do people ever dance to bluegrass anymore? Or is it just all nostalgia?
Why didn't you put the BANJO IN THE BAND AND YOUR VOICE?
Step 1: Acquire Harley-Davidson 1948 Panhead
Step 2: Find backroads
Step 3: Haul ass and have fun!
Step 2.5: turn up the union station
And don't come back alive
