I have seen quite a number of concerts in my lifetime. The Jerry Douglas Band as of May of 2024 is by far one of the best bands that I have ever heard. If you get a chance to see them or Tommy, don't walk, run to the concert venue.
I’m guessing a large number of people don’t realize that these are two of the greatest musicians in the world regardless of genre.

Yeah....they are mostly just breathing in this. I am an Ozzie and I have been following Tommy since I became aware of him on Paul Hogan's TV shows in the late 70's. I became aware of Jerry maybe 3 months back (through my long love of John Hiatt's music) and the meeting of the genii was immediately apparent. Native talent + over 30k hours doing it.
Now, to add Billy Strings to make this a trio. Music Nirvana

I guess I'm getting on in age but I have fond memories of seeing Tommy play at the Three Weeds pub in Rozelle Sydney 30 odd years ago. He is an absolute treasure, and makes me a very proud Aussie that's for sure.

I ride a Ural 750 sidecar motorcycle and TRY to play a Ural 650 guitar. Both are crude, sturdy and fun!
These guys are not just animals on their instruments… Jerry is also a very funny guy. I once mentioned him on Twitter stating that I would love to give him an egg slicer and am sure that he would get something recording-worthy out of it. His response was funny and humble.

Saw these two at Bury St. Edmunds last night; it was Tommy's show, with Jerry guesting. He did the first hour, Tommy did an hour and a half, and then they finished together. I just didn't understand what Jerry was getting at musically. I love hearing him accompanying somebody, but solo? Brilliantly played, but my mate and I were highly rtelieved when. he'd finished. Tommy was on fire; he's also brought in a lighting man who understands what Tommy's about. It was the best set that I've ever seen (or heard) him do. And the last set, with the pair of them, was great; they complemented each other beautifully: "Tennessee Waltz" nearly had me in tears. For me, that's why DoBros exist; to accompany and complement. All in all, one hell of an evening.
