Ashanti has always been one of my favorite R&B artists back in the day with songs like Foolish, Happy, Mesmerize and Always on Time both with Ja Rule and of course Rock Wit U and Only U ❤️❤️ and she's still killing it as I heard her recent song Falling For You and damn she still got it vocally sucks her music doesn't hit the same success as the 2000's but I'm glad she still doing good musically ☺️☺️

JLo threw some shade at Mariah Carey a while back and Mariah clapped back at her by saying "you don't even sing on the songs on your own albums you lip-synch your concerts", Ashanti, Christina Millian and another latina artist did the lead vocals for Jlo songs but got accredited with background vocals on the publishing and royalties' statement.

I think she loved Nelly but also tried to do what she could to advance her career like JLO. It's hard as a black woman to navigate the entertainment industry with these men holding the cards to your success. I remember growing up; Ashanti and Beyoncé were always pinned against eachother in the media. I wonder if they ever spoke to eachother in passing.
They have and they're on good terms. Beyonce has given Ashanti her props and also said the media shouldn't be pitting women against each other. Infact, Beyonce wanted Ashanti, Monica & Mya on her "Ladies First Tour" but the schedules were too booked so Beyonce instead asked Missy Elliott, Alicia Keys & Tamia for the tour and they agreed. My girl . I loved Ashanti first album and had it on repeat as a little kid. I also remember when The muppets of the wizard of oz was released on Disney Channel starring Ashanti, another one of my favorite. She an ageless beauty.

Ashanti was the "It" girl of the early 2000s!!! She was like the black Brittney Spears, all of her songs were hits!! Her voice was the "pop" sound that was so popular back then. I really don't understand why she isn't a superstar now, because she had the look, she is drop dead gorgeous, and her songs were catchy and popular, she should be up there with Rhianna and Beyonce!! I think some of the reason why she isn't a bigger star is that she released her first album at the same time as Beyonce. Even though both of them were very pretty and had popular songs, it seems that Beyonce was pushed harder than Ashanti. Also, when she released her album, Ja Rule and Irv Gotti were embroiled in a major beef with 50 Cent and Eminem and they slaughtered Ja and Irv so badly that it pretty much ended their careers, so Ashanti didn't have them to back her up and promote her. Then Jennifer Lopez comes on the scene, steals her vocals, and gets credit for the work that she put in, then Jennifer became this huge superstar and Ashanti's career stalled!! I still listen to her music now because I've always been a fan, and her music takes me back in time where I have happy memories!!
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the "producer" was Swizz Beats!! Look at how he cheated on his wife with Alicia Keys!!

Ashanti has always been underrated, and she's gorgeous. I was furious when I found out about J-Lo basically lip singing to Ashanti's beautiful voice. The industry(and it's men)always finds any kind of way, even if it's underhanded, to promote or uplift the "preferences"🤦🏾♀️🙄

I remember the dust up when Ashanti was given the Aretha Franklin award!! People attacked her big time!! The argument was that she had not been in the music business long enough and that she wasn't the best singer, that Brandy and Monica could out sing her! I remember when Wendy Williams was still on the radio, and she said that the only thing Ashanti did well was play in her hair!! Regardless of what people said, she was and still is a class act!! Oprah certainly thought so, because she invited Ashanti to her "Legends Ball"!! Even Beyonce didn't get invited!!
