What’s funny is now, in todays time, nothing in Karrine’s book is shocking to any of us, it’s all so common! But during those days, it created so much chaos! But she never lied and those same people that denied all her stories, we have come to see them for who they are and all their skeletons fell out the closet.. that is insane! You nailed it. When Karrine named names (like musicians of all eras and all genres did) the hypocrisy was wild. The internet still hadn't completely reached all of America at the time. The body count in Sodom (Hollywood) and Gomorrah (Las Vegas) for anyone with 15 minutes of stardom is staggering. There definitely was a time where high dollar men wouldn't want someone who has a long history of partners. This could also be a career-killer because once it's out, you either own it or deny it with venom.

When Karrine said that she was not miserable or bitter and Tyra said “I disagree with you” I was gobsmacked! How does Tyra feel right about telling someone what their feelings are in any given moment?! I feel that Tyra projected a lot of her own insecurities and misgivings onto other women. In Tyra’s small mind, she felt that even as a successful model she had a lot of unhappy moments. So, surely, a “low, video vixen” had to be unhappy/miserable too. I’ve been over Tyra for 20+ years and I’m happy to be seeing her veil pulled back after all this time.

I remember this time. Karrine had hip-hop in a chokehold with the announcement of her book coming out. I, myself, stood in line at Barnes n Nobles to get my hands on it and I read it in 2 days. A very good book but full of trauma. Those men used and abused her and I'm glad she was finally able to get something for it.

What's interesting is when I read that book many moons ago, what stuck with me the most is her trauma as a child being raised by a jealous and hateful mother.
I know first hand what it's like living with a mother that shows you no love, is jealous and is abusive. If I didn't have my dad, who knows how I would have turned out.
This woman received ZERO empathy. I even recall my misogynistic ex trying to drag her or any woman in the industry for being "loose" and I told him about himself and the hypocrisy.
Women will be so hard and unsympathetic to a fellow woman, but in clown like fashion show empathy and compassion towards a male that abuses them or others. It's gross and asinine.

It’s very sad for a young girl to get turned out as a child and then run through by multiple men after that. Every young lady that I know this happened to became promiscuous. Even Oprah said she was taken advantage of as a child, but her dad rescued her and took her out of her mom’s house. The worse part is many mothers don’t believe the daughter when they try to tell them someone touched them or tried to touch them. I got respect for Kareeine! I don’t judge her cause I was molested by my oldest brother and raped by my ex boyfriend. I was beaten by men. I was very promiscuous at 16 til 26 years of age. I kissed my blood cousin on the lips when I was 24. Had other cousins trying to come at me sexually. I spoke my truth about incest and my family attacked me. It’s crazy! My mom is narcissist. I read her book last year and unfortunately I could relate to some of the things she went through. I was abused by my mother and I was a victim of SA at a young age. My mom also was a victim of DA as well and I remember us constantly running from state to state to get away from her ex. I could have went down a dark path if it wasn’t for my grandma and my boyfriend ( who later came into my life in college ). I found myself crying while reading her story. I’m happy that she spoke her truth and exposed what was going on in the industry at that time. 😓

I snuck and read her book when I was in middle school my mom had a copy and I read it in a day (while she was at work) lol I wanted to talk to her about it so bad but didn’t want her to know I read it so I did my own research on her and she’s honestly very intelligent to me. Very beautiful and I thought her book was written very nicely. You could tell she was very honest as well. I think her up bringing was very sad and unfortunate and I pray she heals from her childhood trauma because what happened to her was awful. Overall I think she’s very articulate and would still give these new age girls a run for their money had times be different with the internet and all.. enjoyed your video as always!

I knew a school intern who wanted to change internship from the Tyra Banks show due to the toxic workplace.
I honestly believe that Karrine slept with a guy that Tyra was seeing at the time (well, it is alleged). I can't remember his name, but I believe he was an athlete. Tyra was coming from a place of hate and bitterness with this interview clearly. It was clear as day, she had to have been seeing someone Karrine slept with. Growing up as a child like many others, I did admire Tyra for what's she's done in the modelling industry. She was one of the greats, we can't take that from her to this day. I still love her as a model, but Tyra had a very mean girl attribute to her. Now, looking back and a lot of us are really seeing her for who she was. I'm not really sure if she's changed or taken accountability for a lot of things she's done, but at least people aren't blind to it. Karrine was only speaking her truth and inviting her to that show. She should've given her a safe space to express herself, but she went out of her way to make her feel completely uncomfortable. That's trash behaviour, honestly 😒 ( im just getting to the part in the video where Karrine addressed Tyra's dating stories) smh!

She is so beautiful and intelligent when she speaks and what’s so crazy is if she released that book in todays era she wouldn’t have gotten the backlash.
Don't get mad at her that was her story and she told it and she was Brave enough to put it out there those men knew they were married or had girlfriends they didn't care🤷
She owned her life and acknowledged her part. She said she made those choices and there is nothing wrong with that. My question for her critics is, why was she supposed to be silent? If she said nothing, she would be labeled. If she said something, she would labeled, so why not tell her truth. To the men that called her various names, regardless of what they said about her, the never calls her a liar. If they weren’t ashamed of what they did, why be ashamed of it being told?
