The stringing videos are by far the most informative. Clearly, lots of experience oozing out. Thank you very much Harry and team. In contrast, the ‘new machine’ videos (often with co-hosts) feel a little more like a fake it ‘til you make it exercise.
I love the o3 frames, the way they cut through the air compared to solid beam frames I can get monster spin and pace with less effort, plus the fact they are super arm friendly to boot. Love them.
@Jumpin Joe I would never let string my racket by him , I have my own electric stringing machine Stringing 8 mains at one site and the the other 8 is asking for problems
Ya that's kind of a bad look. That's one of the first things you learn stringing, and it's literally this dude's job lol. At least he strings really fast so it's not uneven tension for THAT long.
IMO he tightened the support way too tight too. "make sure it's nice and tight so it doesn't warp" continues to string 8 mains on one side, RIP racquet
nowadays Prince is running a whole brand new line of O ports. and it's becoming pretty popular amidst spanish and other ATP players, so it would be great a video showing the secrets of stringing the O ports in two pieces
It's amazing how I was watching your video but did not watch till the end of the crosses. I went and did my racquet and came back finish watching the video and surprisingly, the last trick you pulled is exactly how I did mine..but for all the help in your tutorial, I am greatful for all of them. I did another thing in my crosses since I use flying clamps, I inserted the clamp but not clamping the strings yet and I pulled tension..therefore the clamp filled the gap and prevented the strings from closing onto one another.
First of all let me say I love your channel I watch it daily and learning so much!! I have the 2015 pure drive and if you have a video on stringing it I would love to see it . I do have a electric stringing machine estringer that I got for around 1000... I think it is a discontinued model but I am a self taught stringer for myself and sons and would love to see a string job on the pure drive, so that I can make sure I am doing everything correctly. Thanks again, Ron
Wow! I wish I had seen rhis two days ago. =D I received a Prince 03 raquet yesterday in the shop. Started stringing in a 2 piece strategy like usual. On the crosses I started from the wrong side, but luckily I discovered that after tightening 3 strings that it wasnt gonna work coming from that direction when big holes start. It just wouldnt match up from where I came from. Phew! So I started over again from the other side. This time it was matching up. Woohoo! I freaked out when strings in the big hole came in askew. Didnt know what do to. I wish I had seen you before lining it up with the machine. I clamped it anyway and kept going. The strings lined up as I kept going. I don´t know if I lost tension doing it that way, but when I was done it was 24,5 kg as the customer wanted. Next time I´m doing it your way for sure. Thank you soooo much for your videos! You helped me alot!!! Tank you! Thank you! Thank you! You are the best guru out there! # Like most players I used to string my own raquets when I was aiming for the ATP, but haven´t strung one since 2001. =D The other day my club (in Sweden) asked me if I could help out with stringing. Sure, it must be like learning to bike again, right!? How hard can it be!? =D Yeah, its tough, but thanks to you I´m slowly being able to pick up my speed. 1st raquet took 2 hrs. =D Now much less time. Thank you Maestro! =)
I string these with 2 pieces of string, using the brake on the machine (to align the string with the side of the O-port that it needs to be on) which is only required on less than the first half of the crosses. Not a big deal at all. Never had a problem or damaged anything. They are fairly quick to string since the large ports are faster to get string through than the tiny grommets. If you have a machine that doesn't have a good turntable brake then you can string the crosses using the 50-50 method which takes a bit longer but reduces stress on the racket and machine.
I have never seen anyone string a Prince with O3 like this. I've strung rackets for over 30 years, and based on what I've seen you supposed to either use Prince Boomerang Tool or lock the table. This video shows some very creative ideas...
Best way to string an O Port frame is to ask them if they have ever considered switching frames. I still play prince, but let’s be honest they’ve been a hot mess last decade or so. Hope they keep it together for awhile.
Yeah I’m on a textreme now too for 3 years. They rebounded well on the racquet side from the business shuffling, I just hope they haven’t put too many eggs into the super thin flex market of frames. It’s very niche.
Every tennis equipment website I goto there is a seperate section for "recreational tennis racquets". Those raquets are quite different (specs, name, class) from the usual raquets. My question is in what why are these raquets different? Can't recreational players play with other racquet types? (eg: Clash, Blade, Gravity, Pure Drive, ezone etc...) Also can you do a video about best recreational racquets and what are good ones in the market? Thanks
On the 1st generation O3 Blues & Tour 100, the short side is clearly marked. The problem I found was that younger stringers were not use to having a mandatory short side, unlike those of us who started on wood frames.. Also a two piece 50 / 50 pattern where the cross are alternately installed from the middle of the frame 2 up 2 down keep the pulls linear. Geat resource for the stringers who never tackled one.
Yes, there are a few 03 ports still in action. My buddies have the larger 03 Red and 03 black ones. I have the very nice 93 sq inch throw back/retro green one with the cross bar called "Graphite" with player stick stream lined box construction. I usually do a hybrid 2 piece string job. Thanks for the very important one piece hack tips. 🤔 Harry you move faster on the string jobs than on the racquet demo play.😏
You just clamp it on the end that’s too short, and put the loop of string through the tension head. Exactly how might depend on how your tension head works, but on mine I just feed both strands of the loop into it and it pulls fine. I’ve only needed to use it once or twice thankfully.
I have 4 of these frames and a friend just gave me his stringer about a year ago. Its several years old, its a manual hand crank Eagness. Problem is that I don't string that often so it takes me a while to relearn and rewatch youtube to remember how to do it. I used the 2 string method. I realized that if the main goes in the wrong hole, it can mess up the crosses so my lower crosses look slightly off. I am also trying to figure out the double hitch tie off. It doesn't quite look like the knots on the video. My friend said sometimes if he's in a rush he strings a couple holes then pulls tension. I assume that doesn't give as consistent tension across the entire string bed? I tried that a couple times string my o2 speedport blue. Is that the lazy man way and how would pro stringers feel about that? Thanks.
This channel is a wonderful finding. All his comments are pretty interesting. In the other hand Truly I can´t see the advantage of placing the 'one piece' rather 'two pieces' stringing, all the contrary.
LOL...learnt from mistakes doing those Prince racquets...yep, also started on the wrong side as well only to find out the spacing don't match :)...thanks for the tip of holding the racquet though, never thought about doing this way...
what's the benefit of removing the throat grommets on these sp? the one on the videos had those removed and I saw many other speedports also had the bottom grommets removed
Para encordar está raqueta en los ojales yo le pondría el seguro que tiene debajo de la base giratoria para frenarla y evitar que se gire así no hay que mover las pinzas con la cuerda.
Hi people who write comments, so does any racket place in So Cal sting these? Or, only tennis shops. Do these places charge extra labor? Or, any place will be happy to sring an o3 port. Thanks I have been getting my standard rackets strung at Dicks Sporting Goods. Thenmain man there looks like he knows how it's done, but not the other workers.
My absolute stringing nightmare. I hate having to lock the turntable every pull. Thankfully I don’t get a lot of these o port princes in the shop anymore. And yes I screwed one up about 10 years ago. I can do them fine now but still so annoying lol
Prince stringing machines auto-lock on every pull. Even with a manual locking machine only about a quarter of the pulls need the lock. Or you can string crosses from the middle out (50-50 method) and need no locking.
Come on Tennis Spin guy, channel and vids excellent but as a pro stringer, stringing fully 1 half of the racquet main is just not really the thing to do. Can warp the frame, doing it as symmetrical as possible is the way to go.
Originally when you bought one of these rackets you got a small plastic piece with it to put in the holes when stringing which made it easy to keep the cross strings straight. Other than that you just have to lock the machine for most of the cross strings. Never seen the point of these rackets.
The infamous O-port racquets... I never string 1 piece in these, and always start the crosses from the middle... The biggest issue ive noticed on these aside from having to start the crosses from one specific side... Is the damn throat grommet always breaking with shaped sharp polys. Little known fact, prince made 3 iterations of the throat grommet for replacement making it thicker each iteration to combat that inherent problem. I don't like the body hold method, or the brake hold method... Too many variables for tension loss. Constant pull does help when using body or brake hold for crosses, but when using drop weight or crank.... Just start mains in the middle. Other note... Don't ever string half the racquet mains at once... Assuming he did that to save some time off recording this, or he hates O-ports and would get some satisfaction if it snaps during stringing.
The stringing videos are by far the most informative. Clearly, lots of experience oozing out. Thank you very much Harry and team.
In contrast, the ‘new machine’ videos (often with co-hosts) feel a little more like a fake it ‘til you make it exercise.
Saved me. Got one request to string and totally stumped. Did a quick search and your instructions helped immensely.
I love the o3 frames, the way they cut through the air compared to solid beam frames I can get monster spin and pace with less effort, plus the fact they are super arm friendly to boot. Love them.
When doing the mains, its crazy to tension one half of the racquet first, then the other half as it will just deform the racquet!!!
Why he did that? He could have gone both ways with the main
Being lazy n sloppy
IMO he tightened the support way too tight too.
"make sure it's nice and tight so it doesn't warp"
continues to string 8 mains on one side, RIP racquet
nowadays Prince is running a whole brand new line of O ports. and it's becoming pretty popular amidst spanish and other ATP players, so it would be great a video showing the secrets of stringing the O ports in two pieces
I used to use a sharpie cap to space out the strings since I didn’t have a turn table lock. Worked pretty well.
You can also start the crosses from the middle. That way you don’t need to lock the turntable or use the prince tool.
It's amazing how I was watching your video but did not watch till the end of the crosses. when Prince came out with the Textreme line, I switched from my o3 racquets. Ever since then I cannot go back to an o3 racquet
I agree..O Port frames were a total disaster. Textreme line is one of the best i have ever tried though.. Amazing feel and very arm friendly racquets
Yeah I’m on a textreme now too for 3 years. They rebounded well on the racquet side from the business shuffling, I just hope they haven’t put too many eggs into the super thin flex market of frames. It’s very niche.

Ahhhh thanks for the hack, I was so stumped when I first strung a O3

When you do two pieces you have a starting knot and main tie offs around the same area and overlays are a pain.
LOL...learnt from mistakes doing those Prince racquets...yep, also started on the wrong side as well only to find out the spacing don't match :)...thanks for the tip of holding the racquet though, never thought about doing this way...
That really looks difficult, fine craftsmanship
Hii Andrew.....
Why don't you use plastic adapter provided by the manufacturer or lock the turning table while doing the cross strings.....
I didn't get any with mine, and from what I've seen the boomerangs didn't work all that well anyway.
what's the benefit of removing the throat grommets on these sp? the one on the videos had those removed and I saw many other speedports also had the bottom grommets removed
Thanks, You saved my day😃👏🏻🎾
Para encordar está raqueta en los ojales yo le pondría el seguro que tiene debajo de la base giratoria para frenarla y evitar que se gire así no hay que mover las pinzas con la cuerda.
The O Ports taught me to always look up stringing instructions.

So can you hybrid this racquet? Another question what hybrid setup you recommend for clash 98?
Yes. Confidential 16L/TNT 16 @48. Thanks for watching.
@@TennisSpin DON'T string one half of the racquet first, and then the other half. That's crazy!!

Thanks you so much
Had to string one today took me an hour hahaha. Normally string rackets in about half that time.
would a hybrid set up work on Prince O3 rackets?
Yes , I use a hybrid of rpm 16g and Prince Dura 15g on the cross. I works well!
Very useful video thank you very much!!!
Can you do a video on stringing box pattern?
i strung this kind of racket.. it's kind of complicated when strung this type of racket. plus strung with crank tension
I also like it but not a frame friendly for the stringer more like a nightmare finding the short side ending with 4 knots
I don’t see you locking down on the racquet when you pull tension .....
Great Hack !
Originally when you bought one of these rackets you got a small plastic piece with it to put in the holes when stringing which made it easy to keep the cross strings straight.
Other than that you just have to lock the machine for most of the cross strings.
Never seen the point of these rackets.
But that tool's a tool
I bought a number of Prince rackets a few years ago, didn't get any tools. Boomerang tools are long gone.
7 mains in a row 😮
Show
I just ordered an O port Prince racquet today. Big mistake after watching this video. No wonder Prince sales are way down.
Ted Neanderthal you can string them 2 piece, easy with a turn table lock.
Prince sales are down because they lack key distribution outlets.
Stringing is not Prince's problem. You can string crosses middle out to avoid the locking.

HEAD PRO TOUR 2.0 compared to ANDY MURRYS ACTUAL RACQUET
Just lock your table
Why would any stringer waste their time stringing this racquet? Just tell the customer it’s time for an upgrade. Lol.
Why would a stringer tell someone to upgrade their racquet if the racquet is perfectly usable and maybe even what the player likes 🤷🏻♂️
If a stringer doesn't have the skill to string this racket perhaps he's in the wrong business. :)
