Mystic Haunt Zone is so weird on Story Mode
Sonic and Tails face their phantoms.
Metal Sonic races Silver,and strikes Knuckles,Shadow speedruns,and all of a sudden we have a boss fight with Espio.
Espio arrives at the same time Silver does. If you sync up the dialogue between, Silver. Shadow, Metal, Rouge, and Knuckles' stories, you quickly realise they're all in their talking to Nega at the same time. Espio however, only talks to Silver, since he's there leader (and the one with the most experience fighting Nega).

Not to mention that Metal Sonic and Rouge both raced Silver during the same act. I think Silver’s canon opponent is Metal Sonic, though, because if you play Silver’s story during Mystic Haunt, he races Metal Sonic. The same thing happens with Shadow and Knuckles. They both fight against Espio when against the boss. Again, I think Shadow is the canon opponent because, if you play through Espio’s story, he goes up against Shadow.
It’s pretty cool how Metal Sonic plays the role as the hero in this game!

That's _Rivals 2_ for ya.
It's not like they're fighting, or that anything we see undermines their friendship. Rouge and Shadow are so close that she was the ONLY one he openly confided the truth in regarding the Ifrit and Eggman Nega's plans. It's just that Rouge thought she had everything under control, and also wasn't going to be quick to give up the emerald.

Only if he very rarely uses it and it’s a lot more robotic, kinda like Soundwave from Transformers: Prime. He only spoke one line (Made up of one sentences with just 4 words) in the entire series and it was honestly outright badass when he did. I’d like it if Metal was written kinda like that too

Fun fact: the only way you can unlock metal sonic 3.0 is by racing him in the story. Since metal needs to copy everyone's ability but he cant copy himself... now there's a chance

Why can't they use "Time Stones" (from Sonic CD; the game), Chaos 0 (from Sonic Adventure) or something to change and fix Ifrit's world and fate?
What Sega did is very lazy.

I'm not feeling Metal Sonic as a playable character when it isn't a REAL character with personality. Rivals 2 gameplay picks up where it left off with a nice knockout inclusion to go with the iconic racing.
I just feel the character mash-up/storyline could've been better made & thought out
You can sub Blaze for Amy if you choose to but I figured she'd might team with Silver if she felt she'd be more likely to run into Sonic.
Ace Solomon I can understand where you are coming from and I see Silver and Espio team up more left field than Shadow and Metal. Plus Metal also adds a bit of variety where if your playing as him or facing him, he’ll got copy the ability of whoever he is fighting. I can relate to the first game when Shadow’s goal was figuring out where Eggman vanished off to and Eggman was able to think ahead of time to send metal after shadow because Nega would have a free chaos emerald without realizing it.
@@d.danger4335 the story for Shadow could've stayed the same, but Rouge helping Shadow find the 7 chaos emerald makes *SO MUCH SENSE* & would've been more interesting given how the first one ended with Rouge wanting to look for treasure with him after he saved her.
Storyline continuation would've been strong for those two & as well as Knuckles & Espio, since team Chaotix were first created to back up Knuckles.
Amy could've been included with her story revolving around Cream's chao friend, Cheese disappearing & Amy making a promise to look for it. As she searches for Cheese, she bumps into Silver, who's also looking for chao to protect them from Eggman nega. *IT MAKES SENSE.*
Metal Sonic could've been an unlockable character again but in the version of Eggman Nega's Metal Sonic 3.0 since you have to battle it anyways.

What? He is the only AI i can asure has equivalwnts of mental disorders not related with a glitch or a inconsistency on it's programe.
Is in this game, Metal doesn't do much shit alone. Just near the end shows a bit of capacity to take decisions. But well, at the end.
I wonder why they didn't put more parts when metal pretends to be under eggman control and then do other shit, or implie thta Eggman is worried about metal self awareness but doesn't want to just destroy and so there is an extre component that makes Metal more controlable.
Pd:Oh and they disable dmany ontesting habilities like the equivalents of the sonic's homing attack or bost.
