having a list of the recommended paints/washes for each model in the game would be much appreciated.
Fun video! Glad to see the Dice Tower doing these. My advice, though: that drop cloth looks cool and well-loved, but for a video, it makes it hard to see. I'd just put down some white paper towel or something for these videos.

A close up of the ship being painted would have been really helpful. Personally, I couldn't see what was going on. I appreciate your describing what you're doing, but it would be nice to be able to see it. I don't have a game with miniatures yet, but when I do get one, I hope to do some simple treatment such as this to bring out the detail and improve the look on the table. Please do more like this. :)
I hadn't even thought about painting the minis for Rebellion since they are so black/white anyway, but seeing the simple painting done and the difference it makes, I'm definitely going to be painting these now. Thanks!
I agree with many others here in that I could barely discern the models camouflaged on the drop cloth.
But in addition to that, I will add that I would like to see a finished product on the board. Or perhaps just a photo of all the finished models on a clean cloth or table. Even better if you could do a before and after shot.

Great video! Made the whole process seem approachable to a novice, like me. Motivated me enough, that I'm going to take the plunge and try to paint my Rebellion set. So a big thank you for making a video that doesn't require you to already be a miniature painting expert!

Great video! Just a note, your left hand was in the way the majority of the time while you were painting or washing. I know you showed the camera afterwards. However if the angle was higher, just above or lower, where you can see you painting/washing near your hands, it would have made it much better to know what you were talking about. Can't wait to see more! :)

Very good video. Only suggestion would be to use a clean white cloth on the table to allow the model you are paiting to stand out. It gets kind of lost in the haze of background colours on your table loth.
This video just helped me focus and finish painting RotE addon.

How do you prime them? Do they move from the primer spray?
They do a little bit but not too bad. I use a rustoleum plastic primer and quickly hit it with the primer. Then I flip it over to do the bottom.
i'd line them up along on the edges of a square of cardboard and stick them down with double sided tape to get batches primed.

What colors did you use for the rebel troopers?
Chris Medeiros I cheat a little. Instead of base coating the pants or shirt, you just wash the pants with nuln oil and the shirt with drakenoff nightshade. Primed white.

Can anyone say if Army Painter: Uniform Grey ( CP3010) has a good greyish tone for the imperial ships?
For the stormtroopers I am going to use Army Painter White Undercoat (CP3002) and Citadel Shade Nuln Oil. Also nuln for the imp ships.

I tried this with but found the Rustoleum white primer had a powdery texture that absorbed too much wash giving it a dark gray finish which I had to go over again in white. Any suggestions? I'm thinking of spraying them again but dont want to lose detail on these small scale models.
Oh wow I’ve never seen that happen. Not to sound like “Did you try unplugging and plugging it back in” lol but shake it great and then let it dry a long time before washing. If that’s preaching to the choir then I’m not too sure.
I'm thinking it may be the can after further testing with other miniatures I shook it vigorously for several minutes and it still had the powdery finish. It was for some zenith highlighting on some of the large scale Blood rage mini's so I gave them a quick hit of clear enamel afterwards to seal the surface. Looks like I'll be tissing out the white can. The gray can (same brand and finish) is great.
With all those citadel paints I’d definitely consider using a wet pallet. You’ll save a lot of paint.

What are the gloves for?
Johannes Blank So totally not necessary, but a lot of times I’ll put some on the back of my left hand to get to quickly.
Gloves keeps the oil from your hands off the mini while painting.

- You never showed the results, in fact we never got a half decent look at any of the miniatures during the process.
- As several people have pointed out, the background makes it even harder to see what's going on
- Holding miniatures in your hands makes painting WAY harder, use some poster putty to stick them to something else to hold (e.g a cork or a paint pot), that way there's no reason to wear gloves and you're never ruining the paint you just put on by touching it.
- Don't use undiluted paint, it's way too thick right out of the pot

Thanks for watching though, but let me just say that to your points since I can’t go back and make them happen in this video being that it’s already posted.
For my next video I’ll put down white paper and show the final results close up.
When painting larger more delicate things I use a cork, but it’s also not necessary for me. Others may want to use it always though and that’s fine.
The gloves were partly because I hate getting the wash all over my hands and partially because I had an annoying looking blister that I thought people would comment on so I gambled. Plus I also like putting dry brush paint and other things on the back of my hand. May not be your style so thankfully there are many ways to paint and not just one path.
As far as the dilution. Everything in my pallet was diluted, but it isn’t necessary when putting a dot. You may disagree and that’s fine, but it just isn’t the case here. Thank you for your tips though.

Perhaps you could have watched a miniature painting video. Zoom. Clean White cover. I could not see the miniature.
Hey Duncan thanks for the feedback with what the others have said as well. I watch them all of the time, but when you sit down to film you forget the little things while lining up the shot lol! At least there are the moments when I bring it up to the camera on the glove for consolation lol.

I think the paint job was a bit sub standard. They were better off left as they were
