My main bass right now is an SR655 and it shreds basically any other bass I've played. My only gripe is that I haven't quite figured out how to get it to fill the musicman niche, but I'm not sure if that's me or the bass lol.
The slim neck profile is addictive as well, I can't really stand the chunkier necks of P basses and the like anymore.

I have an Ibanez SR755 (when it had the soapbars) and I dropped a Bart NTMB and CBC pups in it and it is - to this day - my favorite rock/metal bass tone. It sits beamed to hell, pickups held in with mismatched wood screws, missing knobs, electrical tape covering the remnants of a battery compartment in its rightful place of honor next to my Modulus. Not kidding. It’s that good and I trust that neck with my freakin’ life. It is rock-solid stable with a super low action and has been that way for years.

That riff you use to demo the basses under drive slaps harder than than a dad who drives a company owned pickup truck

Ibanez and Fender sounded great to my ears. Marleaux sounded kinda empty clean cause it had no mids but it sounded the best with distortion.
