Welcome back to the CSC Garage! In this episode, we’ll walk you through the process of changing out the clutch kit in your RX4 adventure motorcycle. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or a DIYer, this straightforward tutorial will help you get the job done with just a few simple tools.
    🔧 Tools Needed:
    • 5 mm Allen wrench
    • 10 mm socket
    • Flat Screwdriver
    • Magnet
    • Engine Oil
    • Torque Wrench
    🛠️ Step-by-Step Guide:
    1. Remove the Clutch Cover:
o Use a 5 mm Allen wrench to take off the clutch cover.
o Note the reusable gasket or have a replacement ready.
    2. Unscrew the Springs:
o With a 10 mm socket, remove the screws that hold the springs in place.
o Take off the plate containing the springs.
    3. Inspect the Components:
o Observe the clutch kit components:
     Six metal discs
 Seven friction discs (two outer ones are different)
 Six springs (which we’ll replace)
    4. Disc Removal:
o Carefully remove the discs one by one, noting their order.
o The first disc is the outer friction disc.
o The last friction disc is different and serves as the full inner disc.
    5. Install the New Clutch Kit:
o Pay attention to the position of the rings and plates.
o Start with the flat ring, followed by the beveled ring.
o Install the friction discs and steel plates in the correct order.
o The outermost friction disc has a unique shade and thinner pads.
o The last friction plate should be positioned slightly off from the rest.
    6. Assemble the Clutch:
o Ensure the front plate is seated correctly.
o Attach the springs and bolts, gradually adding pressure.
o Torque the bolts to around 10 ft-lbs (aluminum case).
    7. Reattach the Clutch Cover:
o Place the gasket back in position (if reusable).
o Tighten the small fasteners (8-10 ft-lbs) using the 5 mm Allen wrench.
    8. Final Checks:
    o Stand the bike upright.
o Start the engine and let it warm up.
o Check the oil level and top off if needed.
Enjoy the ride with your newly replaced clutch! If you found this tutorial helpful, don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe. Ride safe!

It's great to see these RX4 tutorials, but is CSC going to stock the RX4 again. I was saving up cash to purchase the RX4, but it's been out of stock on the CSC website and I don't see any notification about restocking of the RX4. Thanks!

Do you have to drain oil just to replace the clutch before removing cover?

You can leave it on the side stand and most remains in the engine; however, if the clutch is being replaced because it is worn (mechanically in need of repair) you will want to fresh oil. The new plates need to be soaked in fresh oil as well.
