There is a saying here in the Caribbean, “see me and live with me are two DIFFERENT things.” Meaning a person can act for a long time because it’s just for a few hours. But the moment you are now in their space 24/7. There is no more places to hide the facade. And shit hits the fan. So he could have been pretending the entirety that time before they moved in and she was then blindsided by the change in reality.

He's basically a narcissist and I think that unless you're a woman who has ever got involved with a narcissistic man. You won't understand how she allowed this to happen. It's easy to put a lot of blame on her for simple things such as she shouldn't have started cooking or cleaning or whatever but I don't think people understand the true manipulation that comes with a narcissistic man he has probably manipulated her in ways that she is just now realizing that she's not okay with.
It takes a long time for you to realize what's happening to you once you get involved with a narcissistic person for the first time ever. He probably was very loving on her in the beginning, wooing her, and really impressing her and laying it on thick as they would say. However over time he probably found ways to manipulate her emotional reactions to his lack of effort.
You can see that very clearly now in these sessions. He constantly invalidates and manipulate her thought process and causes her to question whether she truly is being ungrateful or not. The only reason why this is going in her favor is because there is a third party and he cannot fully show his ass the way that he wants to. And believe me without seeing the other episodes I know that he is going to show his ass so much worse than what we have already seen. Something tells me he's just getting started.

Right. I got the impression that his dismissive ways is why she sought the help of a therapist. A female therapist. She’s looking for an ally to help her be heard.
Facts, I believe she has brought it up to him. Which she mentioned during the episode. He just doesn't listen to her. He is ready with a comeback every time she speaks. However, I do put some of the blame on her because she had the signs that she needed to leave, but because she's been with him for 3 years she doesn't want to let him go. Even with him being rude as hell, she still keeps saying she doesn't want to leave. She can't change someone that doesn't want to change.
I agree she did talk to his ignorant azz and he CHOSE not to hear her.
I think the problem too is that Paul hasn’t changed with her. Maybe she didn’t notice/care about the signs earlier because she was a different person and thought she didn’t deserve what she thinks she deserve now.

Based on what I gathered was when he wasn't where he was currently he was perfect to her he was sweet and everything loving her and everything and when he started to lose his weight and started getting money and recognition he switched so he didn't display these qualities feok early on they were showed within the last year and a half of their relationship. Also, I’d like to say that therapy isn’t just a last resort ~ even when there’s no big/glaring issues, we can all benefit from therapy to make sure we’re prioritizing our mental health. The same way we’d go for Pap smears and breast examinations as routine checkups for our physical health should be the ideal approach to our mental health as well. And in the context of relationships, people on the road to marriage/people who’ve chosen their life partners do benefit from counselling even if they don’t have issues. There’s a lot of misconceptions and stigma around therapy, so I’d just like to put this out there 💜

As they walked into the therapist’s office my first thought was, “He’s an arrogant ass.” Turned out I was right. When they sat down and immediately scooted away from each other I was like why are y’all even here? They haven’t even presented a safe space for one another to express themselves. I wish my man would roll his eyes while I express my feelings. And the same on my side, I would never. OMG there’s just so much to say lol. But sis needs to leave because him and his 28 day relationship review is clearly him treating her like his subordinate. Girl he ain’t your manager. Walk!
Whoever reads this: God is working behind the scenes on your struggle. You won’t be stuck in this season forever. He is going to break that chain and put you into a season that you never expected. That man gives a great example of deflection. Can’t even answer what was the last loving thing he did for his girlfriend.
I was kinda on his side in the beginning. As he stated she was fine with who he was in the start of their relationship. This is a very common issue for most women. We tend to date the 3 P's- Projects, Potentials & Promises when we should be dating the reality of that person. So yeah, I was on side side until... this man started being condescending and talking down to both his girlfriend and the therapist equally. I would've walk out of that session. I got second-hand embarrassment from her from just watching this.

He’s trying to control what she helps them with in the conversation rather than letting it all out on the table so he can be resolved.Everything that she’s asking has a purpose and it all leads up to what is causing the problems in the relationship but I feel like some people are so levelheaded they think getting straight to the point is going to fix the situation when it’s not it’s really just childish you can’t explain something to someone with a yes or no answer basically.
There may be a reason he wants to go to church for therapy. It would be to his advantage, and he knows it. Pastors and churches traditionally favor men. Females should be submissive and uncomplaining. They will nearly always try to get the woman to accept all of the man's decisions regarding anything he wants to make a decision about. His dismissal of the therapist may be based on his religious dynamic. Chances are the pastor is male, and this man distrusts a female in authority.

That is not what Jesus says tho, and people will take things out of context from the bible and use it in their own advantage or belief. That's why we should know the fruits of their spirits. God will never want anyone to stay in a toxic/unloving relationship that will only hurt them. God won't even dare put two people together who don't belong together. A relationship that was NOT joined by God will NEVER last.

Isi’s reactions were cracking me up 💀 clearly this man doesn’t know how therapy works. a therapist cannot tell you what to do-they can only guide you towards whatever you goal(s) you have. additionally, if you don’t do your part within therapy then it’s not going to work. he had some nerve asking her about her outcomes and if she thinks what she’s doing works. like??
he sounds like those same parents who say they provide everything for their kids, and when you ask them about the most important things-like love, emotional support, a relationship with that child-they question why that matters? clothes, food, and home can be bought back-not a relationship.

Ugh I already can’t stand him. The face he makes while she’s talking like he just totally doesn’t understand what she’s talking about. I think he HAS heard all this before - he’s acting, like all master manipulators. He’s a narcissist. The body language screams arrogance. Ofc he’s obsessed with image and appearance. There’s nothing below the surface. He’s an empty no-self pretending to look like and act like a grown up.
I will say that you don’t know a lot of a person’s true colors until you move in with them. It brings things to the table that weren’t there before.
