  • Visited all beaches on Koh Samet Island on a one day motorcycle ride. Started in the south at the viewpoint. On the East Coast Koh Samet has about 20 beaches. There is only 1 beach on the West coast.
    The Island is 6,8 km long (4,2 miles). It is a true tropical Paradise with nice white sandy beaches. In the evening you can enjoy dinner and drinks on the beach. During this trip I visited 13 different beaches.
    Koh Samet has 20 Beaches on the East Coast and 1 Beach on the West Coast.

    Thank you for this, I visited Tub Tim in 2002 and left my heart there. I've been back a couple of times since, but I want to go back for like 6 months and do NOTHING except eat green curry on the beach and motorcycle around when I feel like it. Koh Samet is my happy place.

    Been to a lot of Thai Islands....this has been on my radar while trying to get back to Thailand this last 2 years..... as BKK is my base where my best friend Thawee lives....would satisfy my Island love while we were hoping to also visit Japan...or Bali...or Laos....every time of the year sometimes makes it difficult to find an Island....just a matter of time...Thx

    I've been going to Koh Samet for over 30 years. It's a fun get away from Bangkok. There are a lot of nice beaches all over the island for different tastes in accommodations. I've also been all over the island on my mtn bike. Looks easier to do now that there is a paved road.

    • @globaltravelmate
      @globaltravelmate  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah on the bicycle it should be easy now, just a few hilly parts, but not to much.

    How nice. I will be there in a couple of weeks time. I am planning to stay in Wai beach (Apache). It seems quieter and not completely south. Would you know if that beach has a nice beachline and swimming is safe. Also, instead of motorbike, are there e-bikes or bicycles available on rent. Thanks.

    13:29 The name of the beach is not white (kaw) sand but glass sand, in the sense of Glamor, Lightning, Glossy material, shiny (Kaew sound like ke-o). That is, the sparkling sandy beach. That's what the locals explained to me in 3/2022.

    • @thepianocornertpc
      @thepianocornertpc ปีที่แล้ว

      That's correct . Actually in Thai it is understood as sparkling christal.I literally lived on Samed for many, many years...30 years ago...the rest I lived in Bangkok ...soon I will be back there to spend my remaining time on this earth.

    2:12 Do you mean rock stupas? It's originally East Asian tradition to make a stupa from not-so-big rocks and then pray for a good life etc. East Asian tourists brought this tradition to Thailand and Thais started to follow them. lol

    • @globaltravelmate
      @globaltravelmate  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the rock stupa's. Ah ok so it is not really a Thai tradition 🙂
