THANK YOU for focusing on cool tones! I recently picked up “Velvet Punch” lipstick and it is great on olive top with cool undertones. I also recommend “Bubbles, Please” mineralize blush; a bright but not overly pigmented pink blush (better for medium to light tones).
Hi Sue some really interesting picks. Mac isn't a brand I've tried many things from tbh - lot's of poor customer service many years ago put me off and I just never got into it. I did go back a couple of years ago (whilst on the hunt for a foundation for really dry skin) and purchased the face and body. The girl on the counter this time was quite new and very pleasant fortunately. The face and body in the shade C1 has become my most used everyday foundation and just really works for me. As it's a 50ml bottle it's not that expensive per ml and I really like it. It has made me willing to try more Mac and they have a lot of cult classic makeup I would like to try at some stage. I remember when it was everywhere on youtube, but in the last couple of years it has lost a lot of the popularity it once had. I think the eyeshadows are expensive for what they are at around £15 for a single shadow - I bought the new ND retro glam on sale for £48 for multiple shades, whereas I would only be able to buy three singles for that price for comparison. I can also buy a viseart quad for less than the price of two of their singles, which I think illustrates my lack of interest in the eyeshadows. I know they reduced the price in the US for their singles, but they didn't reduce them here in the UK at that time. The lipsticks are a similar price to bare minerals, Nars, Lancome, EL, Clinique and so on here in the UK (so they're not really cheaper here than most of the other brands). Chanel, Dior and more luxury brands do cost more, but there are many brands in the £20 to £28 price range as competition (the minis are £14 btw). Last time I looked a full price Mac lipstick was £22 and the Nars one I bought was £25 (this was last month). They are also stopping the "back to Mac" program in March this year for info. All in all it's not less expensive here than most of their competitors, although that may be different in other parts of the world. It doesn't mean I don't want to try a few things, but it isn't due to being better value as such (apart from the face and body lol). I liked the look of the shades you chose and do wear a lot of taupe, purple and grey based eyeshadows, as well as pinky nudes and soft rose shades for my extremely pale/cool toned skin lol, so the shades were very ME. Best wishes. ps Mauve is also an excellent shade for cool toned skin and it can look very neutral/classic on cooler toned complexions. x
Hi Loraine. It sounds like Mac is a wee bit cheaper here than in the UK, specifically the eyeshadows. I heard about them stopping the back to Mac thing, which is disappointing. It does take me a while to finish up products though. We are so limited here in SA with the choice of brands. Not a bad thing though as I would be poor otherwise. Mac is accessible here and still has a large following largely because we're not exposed to all the alternative brands. Mauves and Grey's are perfect for cooler skin tones. I love those combinations.
Hello thank you so much! This video came up in my feed as I have been researching a lot on cool tones advice and I am so glad I found you - I immediately subscribed! You look absolutely stunning and thank you so much for wearing so many of the shades you recommended. You were also lit beautifully. I have not worn any Mac shades but I will be immediately ordering many now and will be eagerly viewing your other videos. I am also subscribed to Justine Leconte - she is fantastic. With many many thanks from Australia x
Hi Joanne. Thank you for such a lovely comment. I am a huge Mac fan. It's one of the few big brands that we get in SA. I also watch Justine! She is amazing! 😊😍
MAC seem to be a brand that artistic and creative people seems to like. I am cool toned. Black mascara is okay for cool tones, however black eyeliner is incredibly aging - especially black, liquid eyeliner. My complexion can’t handle it. It ages me and I look like a witch about to fly off on a broomstick 🧹 For something more seductive, midnight violet and eggplant eyeliner is good. For daytime, bronze, taupe, dark brown and navy are nice, but not black!
I have zero makeup skills and thus almost never wear it….that means the whole world gets to see my rosacea-prone mature skin with no filters🤣 I envy women like you who are so good at doing makeup. My mom never left the house EVER without her face on. Granted, I grew up in massively image-conscious LA. The good news is I live in Alaska where ‘style’ as we think of it doesn’t exist and nobody cares what you look like. I literally saw an entire family out at Target wearing their pajamas, robes, and slippers 😂 Only here will you see that happen. Regarding your video, I’m cool-toned and very fair-skinned….so when I’m flushed (which I will do at the slightest trigger) I look beet red. I hate it. People with primarily NW Euro ancestry are especially susceptible (think Irish/Scottish). Also: I have very faint lashes and brows so black makeup of any kind looks horrible on me. I found some mascara/brow shades geared for redheads/blondes tho. Gonna try it sometime. Your makeup is so pretty. I have a friend in SA I hope someday to meet up with🖤 Oh, and I am a MASSIVE cat lover just like you! We rescue kitties🥰
Hi Pamela, If you’re not used to wearing makeup, a tinted moisturizer and lip balm are a good place to start. This is “my look” for putting out the trash 🗑️.
Pamela, you have given me a good giggle this morning. It was the comment about the family in their pj's at Target 🤣🤣. I have never thought of Alaska as the sartorial capital, I think of snow and huskies! I would love to go there one day. Thank you for your comment. I've been applying make up for years so it's really just down to practice. And I enjoy the ritual. If I didn't enjoy it so much, I wouldn't bother, honestly. Xx
@@Fifty-sense I used it as a contour shade because I’m so cool toned that most colors on the market don’t work. I need neutral-ish colors that are very subtley mauve gray. You should check out the eyeshadow from lethal cosmetics called called calcination, you might like it for your eyes or contour!

I haven't heard of those shades yet, but I'm definitely going to take a look! Thank you for sharing! 🤗
Love these ideas! I’m cool to neutral and just want to get shopping - especially for lipsticks! You look fab as usual!
Yay! Thank you! Enjoy the shopping x
Enjoyed this as I have been looking into cool toned make-up and how to choose for my slin tone
Thank you 😊

but would have appreciated swatches on your skin.. thank you

Hehe. Keep your black eyeliner for Halloween I agree. I love eggplant eyeliner too, in fact Mac has one that I have my beady eye on 👁️
Get it! I’ve got my beady eye on a Laura Merci (spelling)

I love Quarry Eye shadow
It's probably one of my all time favourites!
funny i have most of the colors you mentionned. My all time favorites are satin taupe eyeshadow and blushbaby blush! Thanks for the video :) xx
Good choice! I love them both!
What lipstick are you wearing in this
Mehr by Mac with Soar lipliner.
@@Fifty-sense thank you
I still love me some MAC!!!!!
It's the best!
What Abt for concealer
Use a concealer slightly lighter than your skin tone.
Quarry one of my favorite colors has been discontinued :(
Noooooo!!! I'm sorry to hear that 😢. I will need to check if that's true for SA too. It's one of my favourites.

What a great color
