You can be a fair ivory but your colours are a warm autumn 🍂 it doesn’t mean you have 🍑 peachy skin tone at all Blue eyes blonde or ginger hair and ruddy is an ivory then add warm autumn makeup colours and colours that flatter gingers and redheads
Yes totally the only video I've found that explains undertones. All the others I've seen just mention pink, neutral and yellow. There is a whole spectrum and makeup counter girls aren't always trained properly in it.
Giiirl! I cannot believe that after all these years and all the millions of hours of video content, no one has made a color matching guide that is actually useful - until now. Thank you Molly!
@@Windtorment my skin is naturally really pale so whenever I do wear foundation with bronzer I also have to bronze my neck and chest because they’re usually paler then my face (my face gets more sunshine than my neck/chest because of my shirts) most of the time I just get the lightest shade in a cool undertone altho one foundation I have is with a yellow undertone and both blend pretty nicely into my skin (the cool ones blend better but I look less dead with the yellow one, even tho I look dead without makeup as well lol sometimes I just use bronzer and some concealer underneath my eyes because 1 I looked like a ghost and 2 I still had bags the size of the Empire State Building ps I’m not albino just Dutch)
Finally!!! A TH-camr who's giving us great beauty advice for all ages and without the drama!! Loved this video and how easily you explained everything!! 😍
Same! I was wearing some philosophy foundation and I was like why do I look sickly powdery. Wrong foundation for years! Omg. I'm so glad she has the EXACT same skin tone as me.
it was like magic when the shade that looked too dark was invisible blended in to your cheek! now I know not to write off foundations for appearing too dark or orange!
I've discovered this too! I used to go for the palest of the pale shade but discovered I'm more 'fair' and my perfect shades are much darker than i thought!
As a very light olive tone... it's an extreme struggle to find any foundation that perfectly matches on its own. Most of the time I have to blend with 2-3 different shades to even get close, or add a tiny dot of green foundation. Would love to see some foundation suggestions for us light olive tone girls.
In another option? Is suggest heading 2 Sephora with some time 2 kill, and 2 try out all the different foundations , You may even get lucky enough when you are trying to choose between 2 foundations at the end? You can ask Clerk to hold your makeup for you, so you can go out and see your face in the sun
Finally! A decent explanation on how to correctly identify the right undertones for your skin that's easy to grasp and follow. The whole blue/green wrist vein method never worked out for me. I STILL ended up with the wrong colored foundation. Thank you so very much for the video. Truly brilliant. SO glad I recently subbed.
Same😮!!why doesn't others mention this? I saw a comment that Wayne Goss had made a video a year ago, yes, I actually remember that.. I stand by my statement that No one has explained undertones in a way that I understand - until Now 🙌 Great video 🤗 Charlotte 👋🇫🇮
@@drnogueiras8783 dang im half native and half european, so like red cheeks but somehow the appearance of always olivey pale. People or MUA always get fascinated by my skin tone or dont agree on it. Sounds like we have the same skin! #ethinicityperks
LumabeeLumabop 4321 because even though olive is mentioned you never really see it. You’ll see more neutral , red and yellow . Everyone always swears that I’m yellow but I’m actually olive lol only two people ever noticed that and they were so intrigued!
OMG, thank you!!! Now I understand why my foundations always leave my skin looking frosty. I never understood how that could happen. I have always been terrified to try a darker/warmer tone and end up looking like I had a bad spray tan. I will definitely try now. Thanks!!
Thank God!! I am so relieved to finally find somebody doing the pale pasty shades!! Everyone else in my results list is either a medium shade or thinks they're pale but are actually NOT the grandchild of a Scots-Irish copper-redhead!! My Granny could wear translucent powder and call it "powder foundation"!! I am blonde, one shade darker than she was, and I have cool skin where she was warm, so this is a HUGE help. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!! 💖💖💖
im super pale and always thought i was cool toned but nothing matched when i bought to use it! once at a cosmo store the lady picked a more neutral/warm and less pale tone for me and made me try it on the neck... i was convinced and took it home to use on my whole face and omfg, she was right. its like a second skin. good thing for us pale girls to remember!
It isn't easy for us pale ones. If the undertone is even slightly off.. oof. I always thought I was neutral or neutral-warm, but nothing really looked right. Turns out I'm light neutral-olive. I can't find light shades in my undertone anywhere.
I don't think I'm warm but I might be peach! I used the shade matcher on bare minerals site and they are saying I'm neutral based on a pic of my face but the neutral shade I have now 'matches' but washes me out.....
The BEST color matching video on TH-cam!!! I’ve always been “matched” as cool or neutral at a makeup store and I look ghostly! I am a strong yellow toned person and I think you just know yourself when you really get into it and try yourself. Same with seasons or colors - some look alive in warm tones, some in cool tones and some in bright tones. Depth of color and tones are a thing completely of their own topic. You could be a fantastic stylist.
Ok can I just tell you that I was EXACTLY like you in thinking that the redness in my skin meant I was cooler. That is until I just saw you put the wrong shade for your undertone on, and my mind is now literally blown because this is what I’ve been walking around looking like: frosty and much too light 🤯😟 THANK YOU!!!!! A million thank you’s for posting this!!! 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
Wow! Your skin absolutely looked pink! Then you blended in the foundation that looked yellow and suddenly there was just your skin! I’ve learned so much! Thank you!
Right! How can you call yourself a beauty guru and have your own show if you can’t even match your own foundation! Irks me. I commented on his video letting him know he might want to try a neutral or cool tone. Sis is not a warm tone at all.
This has literally been the most helpful youtube video I have EVER seen! I couldn't understand why makeup always made me look so washed out and worse than bare skin!! Now I realize I have been wearing the wrong shades! I usually have them match me in store but they never really swatch on my skin like you showed. They usually just look at me and give a recommendation! I went out last night and bought 3 of the wet n wild shades to practice with since they are so cheap! It was so incredible to see the wrong shades vs the correct shade! I am so excited to start replacing my foundations with the correct shades! I am tired of look grey and ghostly all the time! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi...I have just come across your link, and you have explained how to find the perfect foundation brilliantly! Unfortunately I've just started my menopause and struggling with oily skin especially on my forehead and my foundation slides off even with a primer for oily skin! .... but thank you ❤ for helping me understand the minefield of foundation 🙏🏼 love Diana x
This is invaluable!!!! I don't know why I skipped over this video for so long! My skintone is EXTREMELY similar to yours but I have a lot more redness. I always thought I was pink or cool toned but the foundations with those undertones always wash me out! Now I have a much better idea of what I'm looking for! Thank you for this!!!
You made it so simple and actually things made sense. Overtones, undertones blue veins, silver or gold jewelry look like some mystical knowledge, ordinary person like me couldn't comprehend. Wish, that alk those experts could pull out, something so brilliant and informative like this in less than 12 min.....
Omgoodness. Molly, thank you for this video. I'm 55 and never knew this. Also, this year I'm noticing that my makeup doesn't seem to "fit" my older skin tones any longer. But I couldn't figure out how to fix the problem. You hit the nail on the head when you showed the lighter foundation and said you would have to apply more makeup just to warm your skin back up. That's exactly what I was experiencing. And now I know why and how to fix it. 💜 Thank you!
I'm the same Dina Preuss! I'm 60 and for the past few years my makeup just doesn't suit me anymore. I've worn autumn shades all my life, because I was a natural redhead with a medium/fair skin tone. I grew out my hair so it''s grey now with auburn lowlights put in. Now nothing seems to work, and I can't figure out what's wrong.
@@investigator77 I get it. As we age, our skin tones naturally lighten up and for some people their skin even gets a tad translucent. So we just can't do what we've always done. Time to "re-match!" Everyone is saying to check the color of the veins in your wrists. If they're blue, then you're a cool. If they're green, then you're a warm. If they're blue-green, then you're neutral (a blend of both.)
Nancy Robinson you might not have been an autumn even when you were younger. Redhead is usually warm in color analysis. But perhaps you’re a type of Spring which is also warmtoned. You might have been able to pull off autumn colors because of all that warmth. Look up PCA color analysis (it’s the best color analysis in my opinion) and try wearing the different spring shades. Or you can go to an analysis and they will help you figure out makeup and clothes. It will change your life.
Finally - explained in terms I can understand. The grayness is something I struggled with - now I think I have the knowledge to pick something that is a much better match. Thanks!
Wow when you put it on your face and showed the difference between blending into your skin and it looking like makeup sitting on your face just blew me away! Great video.
I’ve been struggling with trying to find a match for years at this point, and when I first saw the stripes I thought for sure you’d be the light pink undertones like what I’ve been buying since we have similar skin tones. Blew my mind. I might have to go get a few different undertones and completely rethink what I’ve been doing. Thank you so much 😊
OMG.. thankyouuuuuu!! I’ve been failing to get correct foundation shades for many years and I thought I was a light warm toned girl.. I am so gonna go back to this video for insights.
yes!!! finally a youtuber that can match her foundation correctly. i have your exact skin tone and shade. slightly warmer/peach toned but with a lot of surface skin redness. whenever i would get my foundation matched - they would choose a cool/pink tone it would make me look like a pink ghoul. i’m the same shade in armani!😃
@Tiffany McBride I thought the same thing 😂 maybe she had a good vacation 🤷♀️ I have close to the same skin as Molly and I just burn in the sun. Like 10min and I'm bright red.
I'm more fair-skinned than Molly is,but also peach toned.I had the same problem finding my undertones; I'd end up with foundation that was either too pink or too yellow. If I went with a neutral shade,it was too gray.I always thought I had an olive undertone.
Thank you so much for this! GA LSF is my holy grail but I have been searching for a better colour as my tried and true colour 5.5 is just too pink - never feels fresh but its always what I am matched as on findation. They say its neutral! I feel that mixed with my redness makes me look dull and purple. You have exactly my skin and I took the Armani shade finder and they came up with 4.75!!!! Now I know I must be the 4.25. YOU ARE THE BEST!
I have to admit, I was still leaning the cool toned on you, but then I covered the others with my hand on the screen and gosh, the peach toned one was like your own skin!!
Peach and pink are so close that it's really easy to get your shade mixed up! I did for years. That's why I wanted to make this video, to help people who might be in the same boat.
girlgetglamorous - Molly I’m more of a pale olive, but I almost understand the struggle. I thought I was neutral for so long, and I can almost pass with neutral foundations, but once I found one with an olive base it was like magic! My old foundations look so sallow in comparison.
Thank you Molly. I have been wearing the wrong foundation for years. Sephora told me I was medium. Bought Elf and It. All wrong and so watery. Your explanations were perfect. I am subscribed to you and can’t wait until I can try swatches to discover my true colors. Redness, dryness around my nose but very few acne scars. One of the lucky ones without acne. Period pimples once a month. Your explanations are so honest and natural. Looking forward to to the next video.
This is the most helpful guide I've seen on picking the right color foundation. I'm going to 'stripe' and 'half cheek' my current foundations to see which are truly a good match.
Mac has a NW and NC for a reason. If your neutral you mix them 50/50 together or warm it up with a bronzer. The drugstore ones usually only have foundations for people that are cool toned or medium tone.
Thanks to this video I realized that not only am I wearing a wrong tone but my foundation is also too light. Wow. I've tried my mother's foundation that I always thought will be too dark and too warm for me. Turned out it actually made me look like I have no make up on my face and I finally looked healthy! Thank you for sharing all those information ♥
Oh no, ha! I find that once you KNOW the undertones, you start to notice them more and more in yourself and everyone else and then it becomes a lot easier to spot and know which shade people are.
Aw, I second this feeling! I feel like I understand undertones in a way that makes more sense than it ever has before but I’m still not sure what I am. Do you do makeup professionally? I’d love to book a session with you and just have you shade match me. #trustnooneelse 😹💖
@@nikkimonte4119 Hi Nikki! I do makeup professionally still, but only with companies and private clients that I have worked with before, for safety reasons. 99.9% of people on social media are great, but there are a few wackos out there! :) - Molly
Just finding this. Wow, you really nailed explaining this and showing how to truly figure this out. Everyone just uses the “silver or gold jewelry” or “blue or green veins” as the trick which never really helped me. I am also a strawberry blonde with yellowish undertones, I tan but my face remains fair and burns easily. I love this video!!!
Oh my goodness!!!!! Where have you been? I do this when choosing a foundation because I am never what I look like or should be. I watch a lot of You Tube beauty/makeup/skincare videos and you just blew them all away!!! I am so glad I have found you. I’m going to watch all of your content in the coming days!! Thank you so much for such a straightforward method. I wish folks at the counters would do this already but now you have given solid information on how to get the best match!!! 💋
This made me giggle... I've been wearing the wrong color for basically my whole life. I went to the store and picked up infallible fresh wear 410 with peach & yellow undertones. It literally disappears into my skin. I also (unexpectedly) really like the way this foundation smells. People always tell me I'm cool toned because I have blonde hair and blue eyes, even though I always see yellow and peach in my skin. Your skin tone is very similar to mine, probably just a touch darker, so this was extremely helpful. Thanks lady! Side note, if anyone has thoughts on hair color matching, I'm all ears. I've heard that you should match your hair with your skin tone (i.e., warm with warm, cool with cool), but I've also heard the opposite is true. Are you supposed to stick with the warmth/coolness of your skin, or contrast them? Molly, you seem to be sticking with peachy hair & peachy skin, which looks fabulous!
Kt McBurnie im peach too. In my experience, before to know im peach, all the hair tones looks good on me. I think peach and neutral has this proppertie.
This is SO useful!! I've never seen anyone do cheek swatches and blend it out and it makes SUCH a difference. The crap with the veins and jewelry was so confusing to me. This was just what I needed! Thanks love
Thank you! The bigger cheek blends have really made all the difference for me, I hope it works for you also! The veins/jewelry matching never worked for me either, it wasn't until I became a makeup artist that I really started to understand undertones and color.
You are brilliant. I LOVED how helpful this video was! No one could explain to me, the differences in undertones, except you. Thank you for swatching the shades. 💕
My frustration with nothing ever matching me led me down a path on youtube of trying to figure out my undertone. Thank you for such a great video! I am beginning to see for the first time in my life that I am pale with olive undertones. I started to see it most when I am right next to someone with warm or cool toned skin. My boyfriend has very red undertones and I look very green when I'm close to him. I can't believe it took me this long to realize since my mom and grandparents are all very olive toned. They have darker skin than me though so i thought I inherited my dad's coloring. I am very pale I'm now having trouble trying to find brands with the right shades for me but in case anyone is scrolling through the comments I just learned that nyx green color corrector mixed with a foundation that's too pink will provide a great custom match, just as long as you use the right amount.
Hi Julia! I am so happy to hear that the video helped! Undertones are so subtle that it really can take a while for our eyes to "see" the colors. It took me forever to figure out that I was light warm peach, instead of pink. Then once you start to see undertones, you can start to see everyone's right away, it's kind of wild. I'm glad the comments were helpful with the NYX green drops. Armani also makes a great light olive shade, 3.5 in the LS line. | rstyle.me/+30vR1-V2dQMFtg-sC3y_Lw. I will keep my eye out for more foundations with a good range of undertones to keep sharing with people!
Because of your video, finally i find a true match of my foundation now...omg. I use the wrong undertones for years. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 And i have the perfect one since a long time...but i never used it..dunno why🤣🤣🤣 Im soook happy now..thanks a lot moly 😘😘😘😘😘
I’ve been matched as neutral by Sephora workers but all the neutral foundations I use end up looking too pink on me. I feel like most professionals don’t even know what they’re talking about.
The store assistance was helping me, my skin is warm toned and yellow, but the pinkier side of the warms, but generally it’s more yellow than it is pink. Although the descriptions seem fumbly she got my best match ever.
This is extremely useful. Years ago, I had the Prescriptives people match me. They had a really difficult time as I am pretty neutral! I don’t use foundation now so that I don’t have to worry about a match. By the way, you’re gorgeous!
never used foundation in my life because I was SO sure I would buy endless products without finding the right match but this is beyond helpful, I feel motivated to look for the perfect shade!
Alice Lidell hi, Alice! I’m so happy to hear this was helpful! I also wanted to add, if you are near a Sephora or department store, a lot of the makeup counters and Sephora will give you samples to try a full face application of each shade at home before buying a full size 👍🏼👍🏼
Discovering your undertone is a real struggle. For years, I would wear tinted moisturizer just to avoid this battle. Not to mention, the "pros" at Ulta and Sephora would classify me as neutral when in reality I had light golden undertone. Like you, I have acne scarring and a very mild case of rosacea which threw everyone off I believe. It took some experimentation, by swatching on my neck and chest, but I finally found the perfect foundation.
I’ve been so baffled by my undertone and have constantly looked for a video that will help beyond the “check jewellery and clothing” recommendations. I still don’t know what my undertone is, but this gives me a lot to work on the future! Thank you!!!
You truly explained undertones very well. I have always hated buying foundations. I always feel I’m buying the wrong one plus I suck at putting on makeup. I have gotten better at it since TH-cam videos came into existence. I’m going to try the 2 foundations you use. Thank you for the tips.
Wow! Totally needed to see this video lol! 54 years old and just now trying to determine what a good foundation would be for my skin. I now know which direction to start. Thanks so much! I’ll definitely be checking out your other videos!
Thank you, the videos should be searchable on my TH-cam or blog: GirlGetGlamorous if there is anything specific you are looking for. So glad you started here, this is the best one to watch first in my opinion :)
This is great! Just a bit to complicated to do in a local drugstore 😫 I went for a shade match at my local Estée Lauder counter and the woman wasn’t really sure herself! She gave me 3 different samples of double wear and I didn’t like any of them at home! I then went to another Lauder counter and asked her for advice and explained my previous matching, and she said “well those are the shades I’d have given you, you may just not like the undertones of the double wear foundation. Maybe try Clinique” 🤷🏼♀️ it’s frustrating as the foundation is meant to be so good and I really want to use it, but don’t want a silly shade!
Oh girl you are awesome! I accidentally landed on your video and I quickly became a fan, thank you for sharing your knowledge and actually teaching makeup. Subscribed!!
Best information ever explaining how to find my shade! I found that out of the dozen foundations I have only 2 were a match. With your advice I did the swatches on my jawline and face. I was shocked at how easy it is to find the correct tone when comparing products! The oxidization on the skin is quite surprising as well. Thankyou for your video - this information is not just great the colour / undertone advice it saves $$$
Hi, Christine! I'm so glad this was helpful! It's so wild when you start to see the different tones in each, right? I had so many that were the wrong color that I wore allll the time before becoming a makeup artist and learning undertones. Thanks again and glad the video helped. Hopefully next time buying foundation will be much easier!
@@girlgetglamorous Since the video on undertones and discovering I am peach not yellow as I had thought. Since correcting the undertones and the right foundation I have thrown the pink eyeshadow and lipstick and replaced them with peachy nudes and gold and its like having a facelift without the pain and expense of surgery!. Im 50+ so its never too late to learn. By the way the Too Faced Hangover Primer is the best!
Holy moly, You explain it so well. I have always avoided certain shades as I thought with my pale skin I'd look stupid, going wrongly by my reddish (surface tones) etc I basically pick pale tones ... But when you did the peach and it just disappeared, you just proved me wrong lol. When you read Warm, cool, vein colour etc online it just confuses you. I shall now have to go and swatch a few, even ones I think in my head won't suit me.
This was so interesting thank you! I would never have guessed your shade was correct till you tried it on the whole cheek. I have medium olive skin and struggle to find correct foundation matches. I have resorted to adding a drop of green food colouring to some foundations, to make them more olive but one has to be so careful as the green has to be a warm green (chartreuse), or even scraping some yellowish green eye shadow into a small amount of foundation helps. Nowadays it is easier than a few years ago as a few brands make colour correcting drops, like Gosh. Most foundations in the medium shades are all too peachy, orange, yellow or pink. I once found shade 7 of a YSL foundation was perfect, then they discontinued that foundation! I can use the new L'Oreal Fresh Wear in Golden Sand, mainly because it will oxidise to the right shade. For olive skinned girls, it is a never ending battle. Inglot has a decent range for olive skins, but you have to like the texture.
Yes tricky I too have a peach undertone (yellow/orange to be exact) I was given the advise if you have freckles to choose a foundation color that’s in between the skin and the freckles to neutralize them without masking them. Nice job! Never heard of kogundo before. It does look very luminous on the skin also.
Hell yeah at last a video without all the BS chat 🙌🏼 straight to the nitty gritty and solid advice 😊which is really helpful, im in my forties and only now have I learnt about undertones - thank you 🙏
Wow brilliant video thank you so much for explaining and demonstrating this in the best way i have ever seen. It just made it so much easier to understand completely 😊
As soon as you blended out that peach tone on your cheek I literally went "wooooow..." because for one, I didn't realize peach was a tone. For two, your skin tone is quite similar to mine. I thought I was neutral this whole time but now I know that the pink/redness in my skin is just on the surface, not my undertone. I'm gonna have to try peach tones and see how it works. Thank for the video.
I'm so happy to see this!!!! It's wonderful to have that "ah-ha" moment, I had that myself the first time I tried a peach undertone and realized where I had been going wrong before. It's a game changer. I hope you've found a great match for yourself.
Thank you for this! I'm a fair skinned strawberry blonde with gray eyes. I've been matched with NC13 from Mac, which..looked amazing initially but somehow got less amazing over the course of a year. Maybe a batch inconsistency or me having changed primers. Makeup can be so fickle. It's nuts that it both looks too yellow AND gray! I look dead with a side of jaundice, haha. The way that you describe issues with shades is perfect and will help me better explain what I'm looking for. "Frosty, Gray" are awesome descriptors! Tarte almost always becomes very orange and heavy on my skin, UD too. Lancome 110 ivoire (24h ultra idole) was stellar for a while, but it made me look mega frosty and lifeless. I think you helped me understand the best way to find a middle ground! ...Now to figure out blush haha.
This is really helpful. I always struggle choosing foundation. So much so that I simply don’t wear it much during the day. Just a bit of concealer and translucent powder. But it’s good to have some clues
I'm a cosplayer starting to add makeup to my cosplays. This video made it some much easier. Everyone else was talking about using paper, checking veins, comparing faces with friends, etc etc blah blah blah. Thank you for this
Just found your channel. This is the most helpful video on how to pick a foundation I have found so far! Your explanation has me feeling much more confident in choosing a foundation match!
Wow! Revelation City! I am graying now but am a blue-eyed, coppery but not ever orange or strawberry redhead but do NOT have cool undertones. Have sort of landed on a “neutral skewing to gold” undertone, but am so intrigued with this new Peach possibility! Following! And thank you!
Thank you, Judith! Happy to share and I'm so happy to hear this video was helpful. It took me forever to learn about peach undertones and it was such a game changer!
Thank you, glad this helped! I feel like once you "know," you will start to look at your skin differently and pick up the undertone. As well, you'll be able to look at foundations you already own and see that they are too yellow, pink, olive, etc. You will get there and find the perfect match eventually!
Thank you for the explanation. Over heard how to look at your veins, using jewelry, and so on but never fully got it. I too have a LOT of red in my face and mouth sure how to rid myself of it but you're video was easier to follow along than any other I've seen so far. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this thorough examination and all of the swatch examples! I thought I had pink undertones due to being fair and having a lot of redness from previous severe acne scarring and skin issues. Turns out I have peach undertones as well, and that has helped me in finding the right foundation shades.

Or doesnt jabber on about nothing for the first 10 min and then flies through the tutorial when in reality that's what you want not the nonsense
Emmicah I love it too. Makeup is for everyone!
this blew my mind tysm i am very pale and i never thought peach was my undertones.. my skin looks amazing and still glows i am shocked thx again!!
Same! Dang
yay !!
Yes!! That was so crazy, right? It still even surprised me while I was editing this video, like wow, this really is my match.
I've discovered this too! I used to go for the palest of the pale shade but discovered I'm more 'fair' and my perfect shades are much darker than i thought!
This was one of the best master class I’ve watched.
As a very light olive tone... it's an extreme struggle to find any foundation that perfectly matches on its own. Most of the time I have to blend with 2-3 different shades to even get close, or add a tiny dot of green foundation. Would love to see some foundation suggestions for us light olive tone girls.
I would look up what foundations are popular in Italy or in a country that has a lot of people who have a similar Skin color as You
In another option?
I knew there were undertones. Didn't know there are that many! I thought it was just pink and yellow! Wow
Same😮!!why doesn't others mention this? I saw a comment that Wayne Goss had made a video a year ago, yes, I actually remember that..
I stand by my statement that No one has explained undertones in a way that I understand - until Now 🙌
Great video 🤗

@@drnogueiras8783 dang im half native and half european, so like red cheeks but somehow the appearance of always olivey pale. People or MUA always get fascinated by my skin tone or dont agree on it. Sounds like we have the same skin! #ethinicityperks
@@drnogueiras8783 we need like a major mixed ethnicity line lol
im super pale and always thought i was cool toned but nothing matched when i bought to use it! once at a cosmo store the lady picked a more neutral/warm and less pale tone for me and made me try it on the neck... i was convinced and took it home to use on my whole face and omfg, she was right. its like a second skin. good thing for us pale girls to remember!
gave up on drug store foundation years ago. Asia is where it's at. best pale people foundations ever
It isn't easy for us pale ones. If the undertone is even slightly off.. oof. I always thought I was neutral or neutral-warm, but nothing really looked right. Turns out I'm light neutral-olive. I can't find light shades in my undertone anywhere.
Girl your eye make up is gorgeous, and your eyes are beautiful also. So much enjoyed your video.
You are so kind, thank you!!
I could not figure out why my neutral foundations were making me look ashy and grey. Thank you for this very informative video!
I’m glad this helped! I find that some neutral foundations have too much pink in the mix and can really end up making warmer skin look grey. 👍🏼
I don't think I'm warm but I might be peach! I used the shade matcher on bare minerals site and they are saying I'm neutral based on a pic of my face but the neutral shade I have now 'matches' but washes me out.....
Exactly my thoughts!
I love the fact you embrace your natural skin tone- it’s so beautiful and refreshing!
This is actually the most helpful video on the Internet for finding tones that color match you for a foundation.
Dude I totally tried to rub/blow your profile picture off my screen 😂😂😂 sneaaky
This was really helpful. I love how in-depth your swatching was and how clearly you explained everything! Appreciate it!
Excellent vid! I really appreciate your explanation of each skin tone and application expertise. I learned so much! Subscribed ❤️
Thank you!
James Charles should take notes from you.
G Chua hahaha can’t convince us his warm tone
Right! How can you call yourself a beauty guru and have your own show if you can’t even match your own foundation! Irks me. I commented on his video letting him know he might want to try a neutral or cool tone. Sis is not a warm tone at all.
ur here for the same reason
Not just JC but there are several other 'gurus' who INSIST that they are a very cool, pale skintone. Uhm, no.
😂 😂 😂 true
This is by far the best video about foundation matching on TH-cam!!!
Buying cheap foundations to test the undertone is SUCH a good idea!
Thank you for this!!!
first person to tell the actual technique to find the correct shade👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
OMG, finally someone explains how I’m pink and yellow at the same time- pink overtones with yellow undertones! Thank you!!😍
You made it so simple and actually things made sense.
Nancy Robinson forgot to say to try Christine Scaman’s website “12 blueprints”
This is the most cohesive and easiest to understand video I’ve seen on finding your proper skin tone. Ty
Thank you, Sandie! I wanted to make a video that made it all easier and clearer after learning all this info as a makeup artist. Glad it helped :)
Thank you so much, really nice to hear that this was helpful and the demos were useful :)
Thank you so much 😊
I'm confused about the pink undertone coz who has pink skin like that?
I was looking for a video like this. Very helpful, great vibes. Thank you :)
Thank you, Nicolas! :)
Probably one of the best explanations I have seen. It drives me nuts when I see mismatched foundations. THANK YOU
Thank you, Vicki, I appreciate the compliment!
OMG.. thankyouuuuuu!!
Yes!! I was also a pink ghoul for years, lol!! I'm happy to share and thank you for the compliment.
Also quick question - to match your body when you’re tanned do you change foundation, mix in liquid bronzer or just add bronzing powder? 🤔
This is like a public service announcement. Truly amazing. Thank you so much. I need a MUA for an event. Wish you were in NY!
Thank you, Sara! Did you end up finding a good match? And sorry for delayed response!
girlgetglamorous - Molly yes, it helps when there aren’t too many to chose from.
I did and oh my word. I’ve been wrong and I mean wrong for 44 years. Thank the lord for this video bc I could never get it alone
I watched so many videos trying to find my undertone and this was by far the best one. Thank you!!!
This blew my mind except I’m still lost for my undertone 😂
:) - Molly
What color are your veins? Blue or green?
@@keishadiessner591 mine are BOTH!!!!!!so i am still lost!!!
Thank you so much, Stephanie! Happy to have you here :)
Brilliant demo thanks - the most informative vid on foundation I've seen on you tube.
Thank you so much! Glad it was helpful. :)
@@athinamariaverivakiscorone1789 I had a similar experience. A lot of different tones look fine on me, so I was always confused!
Amy, this was so sweet to read, thank you! I am so glad it was helpful!!
That was crazy how the peach toned Armani one just blended right into your skin!
It's crazy right? When you find the right match it becomes almost invisible!
Because of your video, finally i find a true match of my foundation now...omg. I use the wrong undertones for years. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
And i have the perfect one since a long time...but i never used it..dunno why🤣🤣🤣
Im soook happy now..thanks a lot moly 😘😘😘😘😘
ABSOLUTELY LOVED this. Super helpful thank you.❤️❤️❤️💋
I have rosacea and people always match me to pinky peach foundations when I actually am more of a yellow tone.
And now I have learned why the foundations I get that look fine on my cheek, look too light on my neck. Thanks!
I have been wearing the wrong shade all these years. This video has been super helpful. Thank you Molly❤️
Love your straight forward descriptions
Thank you, Rebecca! Glad it was useful. :)
Oh girl you are awesome! I accidentally landed on your video and I quickly became a fan, thank you for sharing your knowledge and actually teaching makeup. Subscribed!!
Thank you, Mayte, I love that you said that, really appreciate it!
Thank you so much for that tip I struggle so much for my perfect match foundation 💞
Thank you so much for ALL your videos and helping everyone that’s not in their 20’s. So helpful and great detailed information thank you thank you 🌹
Thank you, Lindsay!
I was really skeptical but my god this was a game changer
Thank you, Michelle! So glad it was helpful!! 🧡
Ohhh yess finally a an expert with my skine tone!! So helpful!!!
Where has this video been all my life? I need to share this with every woman i know.
Oh wow! I really couldn’t tell until you did the full cheek and then it was obvious. Such a great video, demonstration, and explanation. Thank you! 💕
Thank you, really happy to hear that!
Omg I bought tarte light neutral and couldn't understand why it made me look ill. This is great
Glad it helped! And Tarte has a good range of undertones, so hopefully you can find the right one. :)
You've stated your point clearly. Excellent explanation, you seriously know what you are talking about.
i was skeptical until you did each half of your face a different color. * jaw drop *
It's crazy, right!?
Omg thank you. Still don’t know my undertone but at least I “get it” now.
Best demo I’ve seen to help take the confusion out of figuring this out. Thank you!
This helped me solve my foundation problem!! Not yellow-- peach!
