    Nice to see that. Used to fish there 35 years ago. Didn't catch as many as the experts but always got something.

    Hi Graeme, Just like to say how much i have enjoyed not only this but all the other videos by TAFishing i hate to think how long i have spent watching them not just once but a couple of times on occasions. Good to see even the good fishermen don't always catch when out fishing. I make my own angling video's based on east coast Scotland mainly and it isn't always easy being cameraman and angler so good on you for managing to make them and long may you continue as i will continue to watch. Tight lines.

    Thanks for this great video. It's a bitter sweet one for me. Great to see people catching so easily but depressing when i consider what we are getting in the Yarmouth area after paying for bait and tackle.
    Superbly videod as usual.

    the black lug at dungeness in kent used to be the size of those worms but now they are a lot smaller unless you can dig on a very big spring tide.

    loved this one graeme im in worthing and the fishing has really dropped off,im usually catching double figure undulates , bass and congers, locally, from the pier but the fishing has dropped off not even many cod about, im off tomorrow down thanks for the video to a little bit of the adur I fish where I can sit out of the mud and hopefuly catch a few flounders

  • @illumicaust6225
    @illumicaust6225 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Interesting. Flounder are ambush predators, so here in the States, I jig for them with a bucktail jig and soft plastics. I wouldn't have thought flounder would be swimming around looking for a meal... that you could just do some "bait soaking" for them.

    Flounder fishing in South Wales is a very hit-and-miss affair. You get them by the boat load one day then nothing for weeks after, and I mean nothing blanks galore.

    Hi Graeme,
    Been fishing a few times at Arnside (and seen the bore). I used to use what we called 'flatty' spoons which is obviously a spoon shaped spinner. Cast it in and wind it back. Bump, bump, bump on the sea floor then a fish would take it. Excellent sport!

    Last time I went was before those storms and I had a thoroughly good session. It's a unique venue, and black lug worked perfectly well for me although some of the other guys were using harbour rag and seemed to be catching smaller fish with them. I'd love to go back, but when???

    hi Graeme, really enjoyed your video! :) you should try going further up and try morcombe bay, the stone jetty is great off high tide, especially off the end of it :) summers the best time and if your after your plaice and flatties, go off the side of it and cast about 40 yards.. some brilliant fishing, but the channel can be just as good for plaice at low tide, majority good quality fish, around 1 1/2 -2 pounds :) once again great video!

    Fishers should donate fish to the food bank or people down on their luck, natives here hand out a ton of free salmon if they sense you need it.

    Don't need a rod and reel in morcambe bay. just go flatfish treading! walk out in a line barefoot with a few friends and wait to step on one. that's how we caught them when we were kids there. just don't get stuck in the mud!!

    Hi Graeme.
    I have recently (last 12-18 months) got back into sea fishing after many years carp angling.
    I live in Cumbria along the coast and wondered if you ever venture as far up as Maryport and Siloth? If so from your experience do you have any advice for fishing in the Solway Firth?

    It's a bit of a daft title when the rest of "the world" has flounders that are a different species, grow ten times bigger and take lures on single handed baitcasting tackle! It's not even the best flounder fishing in the UK, since there are estuaries, which nobody would talk about publicly on pain of death, where a three pounder is an average fish!
