As a Bears fan, I agree that Trubisky is the weakest between the trio selected in that round. However, the offensive line play has been horrible this year & Trubisky did make strides in growth last year. I'm willing to let Mitch play out the rest of the year before I officially stop defending him. David Montgomery can't even get 4 yards per carry while breaking 5 tackles in the backfield each time the line is so bad this year.
He also has the coach of the year scheming plays for him that can't hide his inadequacies
@@patrickhayes606 a lot of people can't stand Nagy in Chicago. The "media" or "national" narrative is that Nagy is some genius & Trubisky is awful. Most Bears fans have it the other way around...that Nagy is overrated & Trubisky is underrated. We've all seen Mitch throw dimes when he's off the leash. But Nagy wants to keep adding 10-15 new plays every week & stick to short gimmicky trash instead. Nagy also refuses to give Montgomery the ball. I get the OLine is bad but Montgomery is the best back on the team & Nagy hasn't let him play 3-4 downs in a row all year. The fact that Nagy would rather go with gimmick packages giving Taylor Gabriel a jet sweep, Cordarelle Patterson a 3rd & 1 stretch, or Tarik Cohen a HB Draw from shotgun instead of the basics using a talented Montgomery to run all that should be telling of the kind of playcaller Nagy is.

Highly unlikely. The QBs in this class were massively overrated by draftniks. Even QB-needy teams like the Browns, Jets, and Niners passed on this years signal callers in favor of more proven defensive talent. Moving up to #2 in the draft is normally quite expensive, involving multiple second and possibly first round picks to do so. If there really was that much interest, the Niners would have taken an offer from a team further back who would've needed to give up more draft capital than Chicago.
Rumor is that Browns and Bears were in a bidding war but either way it's a dumb trade for the bears.

If you look at Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence’s college career, they did the same or less but still earned the right to be drafted #1 overall.
Him and Trevor Lawrence led their teams to Two National Championships and they all have 1 championship win and one mvp.

QB is a need for the Bears because do you honestly think that Glennon is the answer at QB? I don't leading to why I am pretty sure that's the reason Pace reached for Trubisky. He wouldn't make this bold of a move unless he was (1) certain Glennon is a sure placeholder and (2) Trubisky was someone who saw as a long-term everyday starter for the Bears.
