Even as a Chiefs fan, we all expected him to be good, but I don't think anyone expected him to be League MVP in his first year as a starter, Super Bowl MVP in his second, 303 yards per game average through his first 31 games and the other massive heap of records he's breaking. Go back and watch his first game against Denver in week 17 of the 2017-2018 season. Even then, we knew that he could throw a ball, but we didn't know how well he could read a defense or scramble to extend plays. He continues to amaze everyone.

I like watching experts talk about Mahomes before he started playing. Even as a Chiefs fan, we all expected him to be good, but I don't think anyone expected him to be League MVP in his first year as a starter, Super Bowl MVP in his second, 303 yards per game average through his first 31 games and the other massive heap of records he's breaking. Go back and watch his first game against Denver in week 17 of the 2017-2018 season. Even then, we knew that he could throw a ball, but we didn't know how well he could read a defense or scramble to extend plays. He continues to amaze everyone.
