What an incredible restoration and transformation of a sad knife to a proud warrior!! Patience and skill are in your toolbox for sure! Great demonstration of talent and art!! Well done sir!! The Old Army Scout…
It's funny cause I was thinking not too long ago what would a real professional/expert Craftsman look like repairing an old slip joint, Now I have seen it. I truly enjoyed watching you work and look forward look forward to future videos. I also now understand the slip showing much better. Thanks again
Great job on the restoration! I gotta say, though, were it I doing it I definitely would not have scraped off the original letters. Even if they were worn they were a solid connection to the ship and it's history. Other than that, well done!
Totally agree. It is (in my opinion) a reproduction using old metal. Lost its character and providence. Great jog with the restoration. I will add, his knife, his choice.

Hello, I'd just like to say that I've only seen one video and you seem very talented and passionate about what you do, it's a very compelling process to watch.
I have a bad habit of keeping thing for a long time, I still have a CASE XX Knife, yellow trapper 2 blade, That i have NEVER away from my pocket for 18 and 1/2 years now! I had 2 blades made for it. .....I still have a Takamine Guitars i had made in 1979 and it plays and sounds just as good as it did brand new! .............If you ever have a knife that the blades are stuck and can't open this is one great way to open it >>>> Take a shoe string.... wrape around the knife ......Holding some of the shoe string in your hand and the knife in same hand with thumb ( out side in grass ) throw the knife hard at the grass so it will spin on the way down...... The blades will fly open!!....
hello Lost and Restored, i was enjoying your video a lot! i just had a question, if i have a vintage lighter collection that i have kept for over 20 years wich is constituted of Motorbike lighters, flip phone lighters, internally functioning mini slot machine lighter, and many other, where should i look for answers to their worth? thank you!

Mate, awesome job. But, I strongly believe that some things should not be restored. Like this knife. It is a piece of history now, it really doesn't matter if it is sharp or blunt now...
I've got an awesome Ka-Bar knife that had a destroyed handle you should check out next. th-cam.com/video/yQewBeru3OA/w-d-xo.html
why aim for perfection, when you can half ass it.
Parabéns, ficou show. Saudações do Brasil.

I can’t believe you took off the original lettering. That was the entire authenticity of it. I just stared at the screen shocked you would do that.

Beautiful job. Better than new! Thanks
I’m literally laughing out loud about the great tomato switcharoo near the end. Nice work too!
OK, that was funny! I can do thinner slices with my meat cleaver.
My dad was on the Wasp and this was an awesome video to watch. Thanks for sharing
So was mine. I’d love to find one of these knives for him.
My grandfather was also. I have one of his tour books from the fifties.
My grandfather served aboard the USS Wasp in WWII. Thanks for bringing back some memories of him.

Overall, nice job but I cannot believe that you elected to scrap the original lettering on the handle!! 😳

I agree, would've kept the letters at all costs including most the staining

Nice job! People, don't forget the U.S.S Liberty!
Big up george
My dad was on the Wasp. Great video!
Beautiful work!
nice work!
Well Done!
Just saw this. My late father-in-law was a Plank Certificate Holder on the Wasp. He was a frogman in WW2. Awesome just to see the name on the knife!
Excellent job! Just subscribed!

Great video, I was deployed on the wasp in 2016!
Pretty sure it’s the other one, the scuttled CV-7
You did a great job reviving this knife. Cheers!
Very nice indeed.
I served on the U.S.S. Wasp as a Marine going to Norway. Oohrah!

Nice job. 👍
Secretly Wondering why this kinda stuff helps me fall asleep
Same for me
Maybe coat the letters with a coat of clear lacquer. That would protect them and make it look nice as well. Thumbs Up!
Very cool 👍🏾 🖤
Amazing 🤩
I really enjoy your videos! You are really talented. Keep up the good work!
excellent work dude...
super tare
You realize you put the blades on the wrong side now u gota open the bigger blade to open the small one lmao
Wow, this remind me of my grandma pocket knife made by the US she kept in decent condition from the Vietnam War until now.
Sweet 👍🏻 👍🏻
Yes!! More slip joint restorations
Love the small tomato :D
Surface you are working on makes it hard to see what you are doing in detail. Great work by the way 👏🏽
Beautiful little knife good restoration well done
Great job!
This is too intense.
Good job !
Noooo verry good job!

That shoe string trick is a nice tip! Maybe I'll use it in a video when the need arises.
well done!
Félicitations pour votre très belle rénovation.comme quoi les mains sont de formidables outils quand on sait les utiliser.
Good video bro! Watch here 🔥
nice.
The letters will fall off very quickly. No other nagging, good work. I like your video.
PS: Maybe it was worth nickel-plating, but I'm not sure.
Great work! I gotta ask. What stone is that?

wish you would have kept the original lettering

La has dejado muy afilada. 10:15 ahí no aparecen los puntos de las siglas USS... ¿cuándo los pusiste?
***Tetanus has entered the chat***
Nice Job. The USS Wasp, was an U.S. Navy Ship?
👍
Is this a real WW2 piece? Seems more like something made after the war.
Слава Советскому Союзу
I think it would be more battle effective if it was still rusty. Tetanus infections in your enemies blood system
i know your joking, but this isn’t s battle knife and rust makes it almost impossible to penetrate skin unless you get lucky with a shot to the neck
You put the blades on in reverse
Beautifully done, but tomatoes have acid.
You treat outside wounds with rubbing alcohol and inside wounds with drinking alcohol ;-)
Разве не из нержавейки такие ножи должны делать?

Но почему автор не восстановил точки в аббревиатуре U. S. S. Wasp?
Ruined. Every bit of historical value scratched away in seconds replaced by wonky stickers. 😥
Totally agree
That's all this guy does
@@timmyrivera1565 Should rename the channel 'Ruining Things' and play comedic silent movie piano music in the background. Turn a negative into a positive... it's all about the branding 😁
He intentionally rusts things then claims to " restore" them. He's a joke
😱😱😱👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️
you reversed the blades, the little one goes in front. if you look back at rusty start you'll see.
The ship sank because of a Japanese torpedo hitting it but luckily this pocket knife [and hopefully the owner too] survived.
Ты только что так замечательно заточил старинный нож и тут же стал тупить его об керамическую тарелку... Ножи этого не любят.
👍👍👍💐❤️
That crooked lettering won't last long.
I’m curious where this knife came from. The U.S.S Wasp was lost in action in 1942.
The description might answer your question. 👍
@@benpatsy2076 The ship was lost. Did you find the lost ship and the knife?

Well. It was full of rust, it would have slowly eaten that knife away. It'll last a lifetime now
It would have wasted away. Now it can be kept
