Well done, obscure guy. Way better than the last time. More relaxed, more calm, but... may I suggest you to try to sound less "reading the words"? You are on the right pathway my friend, just learn how to sound more natural. I don't think you speak in this way in real life. 😊
This sounds like an AI, both the VO and writing. Seriously, analyze it for a bit, you can hear artifacts in the VO and the words….they’re tepid, trite shite.
Not a fan of this gentleman. It is a special voice that can draw you in and want to continue to listen and watch throughout the entire episode. Why David Attenborough was/is so successful.
Decent voice, and, who knows? Might not be a wanker towards a co-host? Sorry Andy, but Watchfinder doesn’t need to shutter because the prima donna is gone..
This is coming from an actor myself. But he truly needs voice acting lessons. He lets every sentence drop down or halt harshly making the listening experience draining. Then he needs to focus on the intention of the sentences( who are you speaking to, what do you want to come across with ) this being the main focus that changes how the words are delivered… Think story teller rather than infomercial speaking.
Too many unfair comments on this. Great video, big improvement from last time. Only piece of advice would be to let your personality come through if you can. Your knowledge is fantastic, voice has a nice tone, delivery will come in time but give the viewers more of you. The die hards in the comments didn’t love Andrew, they loved feeling like they knew him. Let us get to know you. Well done mate, keep it going, this will come in time 👍🏼👍🏼🎉🎉
This channel was always unique because of the way the watches were filmed… the voice is different but I am glad it is back. There are plenty of other channels of people just talking.
I hate to stir the pot, but I like this script better, without all the superfluous banter. I don't mind the voice, and the camerawork is immaculate as always. I like it.
Everyone likes different stuff. I think the struggle here is that there is an audience that was built expecting a certain type of video. It’s going to take some time to do that again for a different type of viewer. I appreciate both, IMO.
In terms of actual wearability, the revised Top 3 are Rolex, Omega and Grand Seiko, since other brands are either too expensive to be collected seriously, or are too cheap and compromise on quality and substance.
Watchfinder's TH-cam content was once fantastic, but they've certainly veered off course. These videos no longer hit the mark. It's a real shame to see them lose their way.
I own a Tag Aquaracer, Omega Speedmaster, Omega Planet Ocean and a Tudor Black Bay 58. My every day watch is the planet ocean. I find it the easiest to read and never get bored of how bulky yet intricate it is. Absolutely lovely watch
Looking back at some of the earliest videos hosted by Andrew, he too needed a while to get into the grove, even doing some vocal exercises. So let's all give the new team some time to get their bearings and keep in mind that Tom will surely help steer them in the right direction. On the content, would have included a Junghans Max Bill or something by Nomos due to their great wearability and light appearance and generally would advise trying to keep lists of this type to one watch per brand, rather than two Rolex's and Omega's, keeps it more varied. The ultimate everyday watch of my dreams does not exist (yet), but the Tudor North Flag has been giving me some rather expensive side eye...
I have the Tudor Pelagos 39. It’s fitting to cover the likes of a Black Bay 58 and the Rolex Submariner no-date. If versatility is the name of the game, the 39mm black dial Pelagos is the name! And I’m wearing it too😝
Own a Submariner date and a Tudor BB58 blue, so can't agree more with these picks in the video. For me the date Submariner is even better as an everyday watch because I use the date a lot.
I like watches, not voices 😂 Solar atomic full metal G-Shock is the ultimate daily - always ready to go, always sub-second accurate, every feature you need, completely indestructible! I'd happily take that Longines though (whilst secretly wishing it was a JLC Polaris).
My Grand Seiko SBGA413 Shunbun is my daily wear almost beater, so I second Grand Seiko with Spring Drive (and titanium FTW). But it has to be Spring Drive. It's not just accurate, it's robust; it doesn't have a delicate escapement, so it can take more rough and tumble. The White Birch is lovely, and its 9RA5 movement a technical marvel, but for everyday practicality, Spring Drive can't be beat.
Where's the G Shock? And also perhaps a Baltic? Today's choices are too dull. I think Seiko, Hamilton, and Longines aren't great choices anymore, especially to new people to the hobby.
I mean this to be as helpful as possible. Please don't drop your tone at the end of every sentence. It turns this into a sort droning on experience. I'm sure you'll continue to get better and better though and the content is still wonderful!
The first video after Andrew left, I clearly identified Tom and it sounded like him. On this one I can't say it's him. Not bashing anybody, just want to know if anybody got this same perception. One thing I know, is people need to get over with Andrew's leaving. Just saying it.
I don't know if it's just me, but this voice just sounds a bit robotic/monotone to me. I am no expert by any stretch of the imagination, but this sounds computer/AI-generated speech to me
For me an everyday watch is rugged, limited complications, can be worn with a suit or in a sports club. It should also not be a target for being ripped off your wrist in London! My choice would be a Bremont Broadsword on a bracelet, or a Sinn 556.
I am not so sold on the Snowflake these days, as mine stopped advancing the date. I just shipped it to Seiko. Not sure if they will charge to fix it. It is just out of warranty, but this should have never happened.
As a watch nut, I have owned a couple of these watches plus many more. Personally, I think it's hard to beat some of the German brands as an everyday wear and value, Sinn Nomos, Damasko etc...
Long time subscriber, understanding that it will take sometime to transition from Andrew. Couldn’t get past 1:45 on this video. The narration is more mechanical than the watches.
Is it inconceivable that WF would use an AI for these videos? Because it sounds to me like they’ve gone and done just that. And not just the VO, the content sounds like it was written by GPT. This is not the way guys. Y’all need to hire Pierce Brosnan or Craig Ferguson to replace Andrew. Go big or go home. We won’t be around long if you keep bunging this up.
I wear the GS Snowflake as a daily but most people I know who owns one treats it as a dresser. Even a Speedy is a good everyday choice like the Explorer or Sub. I think there is a new GS Snowflake SD without the power reserve coming.
This was very nice! It maybe a thing, for me, but it was Andrew's voice, quirk, jokes that I'd understand the next day (hahahahaha) that made them so much more interesting. WIsh the new lad and Andrew did a video together, that'd be amazing!
Did you really just say "VC is one of the top 3 watch makers in the world"?! Is this real...? VC is not even top 3 in its price point.... considering brands such as Lange, FP Journe, H Moser etc. coming onto the scene.
The Vacheron has only 30M of water resistance so to me that drops it off a daily wearer list. There are so many watches that could be on this list, tough to narrow it down and there will be so many opinions.
Here’s an idea. Put a video & narrative out and let us viewers do a voiceover & send it in to you. Almost like a virtual job interview for Andrew’s old job. Pick the best voice & done: New role filled to join Tom.
This needs slower tone and lower voice just tone it down a few octaves and it will be more like what we are used to. Andrews voice matches the background music your slightly higher pitched than the background.
It’s a fact that after 3-4 goes of something, most people come round. For an early effort this was damn good. I would like the pronunciation to be slightly more received (I know, I’m an aural snob) and for the audio to be more of a story than reading off a script. But power to your new guy. Carry on and ignore the flack.
That Omega Globemaster is stupid. In a good way. Love the color choices and while a Submariner should be in every gentlemen’s watch collection Omega’s style and prestige is undeniable.
So bizarre not having Andrew do the narrative for these
Andrew is gone

As a language teacher, I agree with you completely.

I think the Aqua Terra trumps the rail master for best everyday watch, personally. Good video.
Yes, but the Railmaster can be had brand new grey market for $3500. At that price it’s really hard to beat.
