- Hi Folks, just a quick video of what I think is a beautiful chord progression that I wanted to share with you, and also wanted to take a moment to point out a few things about the Gibson 50's J-45 that I've recently noticed.

Randy,
One of the things that makes the Gibson stand out, is not a crazy amount of sustain.
Doesn't get in it's own way and most say it works better for vocal accompaniment.
Your's is exactly what a good Gibby should sound like!!
I just got a 50s J45 as well and it's fantastic. Enjoy my brother.
Hi Michael, that is some valuable feedback, brother man! I finally have someone on the channel besides me that owns one. I am convinced, after reading your comment, that you nailed the reason these guitars have always been so popular 👍🏻
I just put monels on mine. Takes a few days to settle in.
I’ll let you know how they sound brother.
Randy,
Monels were ok.
I think the 80/20s sound best!@@michaelbobson9198
Good to see you Randy 🙂. Thanks for sharing this chord progression. God bless 🙌 🙏
Great to see you too, Bruce. Always appreciate your time kindness, brother man 👍🏻
I was captivated, nice progression, Could write a thousand sad songs to that. Great guitar!!!
Thanks 92! Appreciate those kind words, brother man 👍🏻
Hey Mate . . . a great soundin' guitar indeed, and a beautifully played 'progression'. Big like as always Randy. Guitars are an enigma in my humble opinion. 🤷🏻♂ Expensive guitars generally sound amazing but at times cheaper ($) guitars suit a particular tune.
Enjoyed this upload Mate . . . . loved the part you played. 🎸 😊 👌
Hi John, great observations as always. I do believe you’ve nailed it. Really appreciate you, brother man 👍🏻
Excellent chord progression! Very peaceful sounding. It does sound somewhat familiar, but no idea if it’s a song. Keep on rocking Sir Randy! Love you man!
Hi Ms Rose, appreciate the kindness. Since uploading this one, I’ve come to believe the first part of it sounds a bit like “My Way” by Sinatra/Elvis? Thanks for stopping by and offering up your thoughts. Love you too, sister girl 👍🏻
@Randy's Rhythm always makes me want to pick up my guitars. Thank you Randy. Respect. - dl
PS: I will have to take your word on sustain and lack of sustain in this Gibson 50's J-45 as I'm not an expert on this; however, the progression is, indeed, very peaceful. Thanks again @Randy's Rhythm.
Hi David, great to hear from you! Appreciate you very much and you’re welcome, my friend.
Excellent arrangement my dear friend Randy!! Sounds really awesome!!
Love and respect Kyle!! 😊🥁🇵🇭
Thank you my wee brother man Kyle 👍🏻
I HAD a friend who all ways said he could not sing while using any other guitar besides a Gibson. He passed away some years back, he might have known what he was talking about. After spending thousands and thousands of dollars on all major brands and models of acoustic guitars my pick would be the J-45 Gibson. Had some very good old J-50 Gibson's all so. Thanks Randy seems you just keep getting better.
Hi Stager, I always at least try to improve and pleased you noticed 😂. A great story and my experience with Gibson, particularly the J-45, just seems to bear that out, brother man 👍🏻
Love the guitar Randy. I know exactly what you mean with building a song too. I've been working on that one that I do in some of my own videos and realize that it just needs something more. Love the song too. It does sound familiar, in a way, but I can't put my finger on it. I love the way you played it too.
Take care my friend...
Hi David, I always appreciate the time you take to offer up some feedback, my friend. Thank you so much for the kind words, brother man 👍🏻
Really beautiful chords, Randy 😊
Appreciate your kind words, my friend. I have come to think the first part of it sounds a bit like “My Way” by Sinatra 👍🏻
Very nice Randy, I'll be giving it a go.
Thanks, brother man 👍🏻
Randy, I hear lots of sustain, but what this guitar really has that makes it a winner ... is the balance when all strings are in sink !😀
Hi Glen, I agree. The balance is just beautiful. Appreciate the feedback, brother man 👍🏻
Sounds sweet Randy. Thanks.
Thanks Mark 👍🏻
really enjoyed this, thanks so much! 🥰🥰😍👌🏻
You are most welcome, Jordan. Glad you enjoyed it, brother man 👍🏻
It does sound familiar but that doesn't mean anything coming from me, lol! Definitely sounds good.
Hi James, appreciate the kindness. I have come to hear a bit of “My Way” by Sinatra. I don’t know if you can hear it, but it’s what I think I hear at the beginning 👍🏻
I have heard similar progressions (maybe even this one) but I can`t put a busted up finger on it but it is a wonderful progression. Yes the Gibson is coming around and how much sustain do you need , well are you a EVH or SRV , then you need an All Night Sustain but my opinion is you need "Just Enough" and this one is getting there. Now you have to ask , since it is a 50`s reissue , how much did the OG`s have as things changed going into the sixty`s ?
Randy , I do agree with you America need`s All the Prayer we can get and seek forgiveness as a whole , troubling times could be ahead.
Hi Colonel, a great observation! I suspect the originals had less sustain. Amazing what luthiers have learned, since the early days. I agree, you need just enough 😁. Always appreciate your insights, brother man 👍🏻
Yes brother, we should all be on our knees before the Lord, begging His forgiveness and praying for our nation.
That guitar sounds a lot different than it used to. It sounds great....and sounds like it really has the volume. I love the sunburst....and now,
I have to get out my IBG Hummingbird. 🙂
The IBG Hummingbird!! Yes sir, a great instrument for sure. I appreciate the kind words and the great insights, brother man 👍🏻
Beautiful! Almost sounds a bit like Tears In Heaven at the beginning. Hi Mr. Randy!!! 🌹
Hi Ms Laurie, great to hear from you, my friend. Appreciate the insight! I can hear a twinkle of that as well. I have since thought the first part of it sounds a bit like “My Way” by Sinatra, as well? Appreciate you playing along and thanks for the kind words, sister girl 👍🏻
@@randysrhythm that song has a nice progression too! Hope you’re well!
All good, just busy with scheduling travel at the moment. Hope the same for you and yours 👍🏻
Yea...sounds great...I been outta pocket for awhile...I'm back now...
Thanks Stephen! Glad you’re back, brother man 👍🏻
A truly beautiful chord progression there, Brother Randy! I really enjoyed it. Just the thing for a Friday morning. I think that guitar is sounding pretty amazing also. I think sustain is maybe a little overrated. I mean, how long do we need a note to ring for, actually? This one seems to have all you need.
My brother man Paul! A very insightful comment. Always great to get your insights, brother man, and thank you 👍🏻
Vintage Guitars are indeed a great escape from the woes of the USA. Too bad they are not the panacea or else I would surely pay the big bucks to get one. Sounded great by the way! God bless.
God bless you as well, brother man, and appreciate the insight 👍🏻
Guitar sounds lovely Randy. I read the quality and hardness of bone pins can be variable? I’ve been practising chord progressions to improve my fingerpicking mobility in right hand, up and down the strings maintaining pattern. It’s fun when bored of same things, I have learnt a surprising amount doing it. Thankyou for the continued inspiration.
Still loving my ibg j45.
Hi Simoto, it warms my heart to hear you are still staying after fingerstyle! You are more than welcome, brother man, and that IBG 45 is a cannon 👍🏻
@@randysrhythm Thanks Randy, only real problem occurs if I try to sing. Literally no concentration left to form words! One thing at a time. Peace and love from the English Lake District.
