Yep, I’m pushing 68 and seeing this performance of one of my favourite bands of my youth is very satisfying. Particularly because this performance is astounding 🥰
Cockriel D I thought the same thing, earlier he seems to give a nod to Ginger as well. I know they all had their differences when they were in Cream but the bond between them must have been very strong.
They had no egos left to stoke, nothing left to prove, and it's no longer important to be right. I'm so glad they got to do this once more in this life, for us and for them-- it may have felt like something was missing otherwise.
Cockriel - you are correct -- wonderful observation. I'm glad they had this concert. To think that Disraeli Gears was largely overshadowed by Sgt. Pepper. There was room for both albums, to be sure.
Writer and bluesman Skip James hated Cream's arrangement of I'm So Glad when the group brought it to popularity. In a strange twist of fate- the record royalty paid for Skip's funeral expenses. Not to trust the bean counters at the record company, Jack Bruce personally delivered those funds directly to Skip James's widow to cover the costs. A decent burial.
I will add one true point. When Eric heard that Skip had cancer, he paid for Skip's Cancer treatment. And then we saw Skip play later at Newport along with Mississippi-John Hurt. There is a good video of them at that concert. Thank you Eric for showing your generous spirit. Eric also helped Bobby Whitlock too. Check out Bobby Whitlock's channel w. Coco Carmel ( his wife) - a great channel if you want to learn rockn'roll history. She does a great job recording and guiding Bobby's comments. Amazing, all of these guys. The younger generation could learn a lot from them. Thank you for reading this, now go out and share. Thank you...
Skip James' widow told Jack Bruce that they received more $ off CREAM doing "I'm So Glad" than Skip made in his entire career, This was off of facebook
I keep this performance close to my heart. The album's been with me for more than 15 years and I still keep coming back to it. Lovely and brilliant playing + the sound's great (for once with Cream ..). Fresh Cream never goes sour, it only matures. Sourcream forever. I love these guys
What makes this Concert so remarkable is the fact that they did not engage large Brass Sections, 3 Keyboarders, 5 Background singers and lots of Guitarists like many other Bands do (for instance "The Who") but just do their unimitable thing with three instruments and two (ok, two and a half) voices. Great Stuff and thumbs ten times up!
What a precious piece of rock history. These three guys are all stars in their own right. It is quite clear that they allow each instrument to be heard clearly. Three masters shining bright for us. I've seen Clapton and he is brilliant, however, is there another three piece as good as these guys? Blessed by this!

@@greglarry11 It is hard to believe Bruce nd Baker are gone. Cream opened the door for me to real music when I was 12yrs old. Fifty years on and I am still exploring!
Outstanding! Where on Earth would you find 22 idiots bold enough to give this the thumbs down? I would suggest not one of those 22 have ever played a single note in front of anyone. Somewhere in the world there are at least 22 villages looking for their lost idiots and a good place to start looking would be the fools that bothered to go to the effort of not liking this. What the fuck have we come to?? RIP Jack - you are the man!!!
"I'm So Glad".....they decided to do these shows in 2005 at Royal Albert Hall in London.....and from the smiles on their faces they were fairly happy too.....sounds incredible.....extended standing ovation as they come on stage.....its for the respect that they command concert after concert after concert....
Fantastic moment when all those people are standing and applauding! Just look at Jack Bruce’s smile as he looks over at Clapton as if to say, yeah “We’ve still go it!”
I'm so glad!! We had CREAM!! Thank you guys for so much good music and memories!! Out of everything Eric Clapton did, cream was favorite!! Those three together were like three peas in a pod!! Perfect, and meant to be!!
I think the most amazing about these three is that they're all doing their own weird stuff almost like playing different songs but somehow the whole thing it's not only coherent but it's sounds amazing. Pure musical magic.
Oh THANK YOU you guys for doing this! You were the best in 1968 and you are still. Thank you Eric, thank you Ginger, and thank you and rest in peace Jack Bruce. You were good. Really really good.
I'm 60 now but I remember the first time I heard them live on "Wheels..." Jack Bruce was and is my musical hero for so many reasons. I learned to play Train Time when I was a kid now I play bass. There is so much going on by these three. I'm so glad when I can keep up...sort of!
they used to say cream was like 3 musicians soloing at once - the groove is so deep during that solo it's amazing; jack bruce is playing double stops like the whole time, ginger keeps changing the beat, it's just amazing.
The recording is the best I have heard on you tube. I have the miracle Harmon Kardon speaker and can play this music 2x what a typical Rock Band" with no noticeable distortion. At that time- they really had no peer although Dave Mason/Capaldi/Gordon and Winwood were very high quality. Dave Mason has changed the most- that skinny kid with long thick hair plays his tunes and the songs still sound very appealing- How do I get to heaven" and his watchtower with his big hands -one of the best. He is to me an enigma.
Listen up kids. This is music from the best of the very best, the eternal greats. Their real voices, musical instruments void of any sync crap. When you reach my age, there is nothing from your generation that you will look back to that can compare. If you live long enough you will remember I told you so. Enjoy!
I remember listening to this song in Nam in 69 on LZ English on a friends reel to reel player. God it made us feel so good. Don't know why but I sure remember smiling whenever this played. Thanks

Watching Clapton wait for Ginger Baker to adjust his earpiece then seeing Ginger give the nod back to Eric to start the show gave me shivers up my spine the first time I saw it.
For the concert as a whole: I know that they each had been playing their instruments for over 40 years at this point but still they make it look so damn easy when it's difficult
Don't you just love the nod Jack gives Eric at the end. Wonderful stuff. It still sends shivers down my back hearing this as I was lucky enough to get seat in the stalls 14 rows from the front right in front of Eric on the first night a magic concert, and getting Brian May's autograph afterwards was an amazing bonus
I cant believe it has been five years since my dear friend, Jack Bruce, left us. Now Ginger is gone too, but their music is forever. Music today(if you can call it that) cannot stand up to this!
It's so nice that they were able to come back one more time before Jack and Ginger left us. That makes this performance all the more significant.

Amen. So happy Eric Clapton called them up to do this. I think maybe Eric was thinking this is some unfinished business that needed to happen.

" I'am So Glad" that I was alive back in the day, to hear them for the first time and that I can still listen to them NOW!!

Ginger Baker’s drumming really nails it. His beats are not just complementary. His beats carry this song.
