- Cream - Spoonfull live at Royal Albert Hall, London.
May 2, 3, 5, 6. 1080p
2 of 22
In May of 2005 Cream returned to London's Royal Albert Hall-to the same stage where they had completed what was thought to be their final performance in 1968. It was one of the most eagerly anticipated, hard-to-get tickets in rock history. With the exception of a brief reunion set at their 1993 induction into the Rock and roll Hall of Fame, Cream had not played together in nearly four decades. This DVD documents Cream's momentous London shows. Performances from each of the four nights are featured and much more. Also included are alternate performances and interviews with Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce, and Eric Clapton. Cream formed in 1966 and disbanded in 1968. The band were a prolific and thrilling live act and toured incessantly in their short but remarkable history.
No fancy clothes, no dance moves, no light shows. Just music that talks to your soul.
Just real.
You know when a band has made it when they wear plain street clothes.
That's Why They Call It The Blues
No guitar shredding either
Old times... Real music.
In my life, I have watched bands from the 60's through today. There is none that could approach
Cream. 3 great musicians - no glam, no wild makeup, no acrobatics, no explosions, only the music.
And of course today, there is nothing that exists anywhere to compare..
jimi experienced also
I agree completely, today is horrible music, with nothing in it. l cannot listen to it. sickening sounds.
I was fortunate to Hear Cream just before they Broke Up. Boy, the Jamming was AMAZING A between Clapton and Bruce,
❤You are so right. Absolutely the best. They packed a lot into 2 years together!
RIP Ginger Baker died October 6th 2019, age 80. Thanks for all the great memories and music.
I think it is excellent that he was around that long.
@@KR-ki9hw I think it's a miracle he was around for that long. No disrespect intended. RIP Ginger.
These guys are good! Perhaps they can back up John Mayall. /s
I saw them all play with John Mayall when they. first started out. Also with the Graham Bond Organization.
👍👍👍👍
This has to go into the best reunion ever category. Just amazing.
Toni Apicelli this and the police reunion in 2008 I think...
Drums can be heard better than in their earlier recordings.
I certainly agree with that especially what it took to get them back together.
Deep Purple for Perfect Strangers can argue the point.
No one ever wants to talk about Ginger baker he was One of the best pair of sticks on the planet
I have a new found appreciation for Eric Clapton. He never looks like he's trying and his notes sing with character and clarity.
Erics guitar tone is the best I have heard from him in ages... very sweet thick and rich.. his playing is also outstanding...
That fuzz is right on spot
@@leoli6116 Eric doesn't use fuzz pedals.
@@khiemvu8667 Fender Tweeds
awesomejohnnet Eric Clapton Chord with Melody combination is what all he needed to do all, No need to have another guitar to fill in. and like you said very sweet, Thick and rich. 🙌🏼
Does sound fantastic, but doesn’t even compare to them humbuggies.
These guys were not named Cream by chance. At the time Clapton was the best lead guitarist,Jack Bruce was easily the best bass player and as for Baker he was simply awesome .... the cream always rose to the top. Magic memories for me and my old band as we always played 3 pieces in our set.
never made that connection associated with their band name...makes sense, now i know
You are correct. They are all in the virtuoso category.
creme de la creme
Only other 3 piece that could hold a light to them was rush . They were pretty damn good as well .
Before they were afraid to make real music. W
Jack Bruce was a musician for the ages. The World is still vibrating from his bass.
RIP
Anyone remember maybe 10 yrs ago in Coney island Jack Bruce solo I was walking by heard his voice and said no fkn way it was 10 feet from me doing white room incredible
Reunions rarely go as superbly as this one :)
Would have been better if Jack and Ginger got into a fight at the end
@@ScoobyDooby530 Sarcastico!!
Clapton‘s Guitar playing is fantastic!!!
damn this is good. nothing of today compares. three piece band just kicking it out.
Magnificent...cannot get enough of it...warms the cockles of the heart of this 83 year old blues/ rocker.
Good on ya bro ,I'm just 67.. hope to be there when you are 102
R.I.P Jack Bruce. You were a pure legend and leave a legacy of magic behind.

Nobody can jam like Cream
Susan Reed Susan excellent excellent excellent
i think they invented it ;)
Cream invented jam rock and heavy metal!
Eric Clapton Chord with Melody combination is what does all the work, I think he added Delay effect with the guitar.
except the Grateful Dead . The two best jam bands all time
Jack gets my vote as best rock Bassist ever!!!
Mine too R.I.P. Jack
Agree. Classically trained, he was truly at his best as a blues/rock bassist. The music world has lost an icon.
Robbie Kirkpatrick
That's nice but this isn't rock.
This is Jazz/Blues.
believe it or not i seen him solo in Coney island a few years ago he was incredible
Phenomenal !
Jack the man. vocals, bass, power, and very under rated.
piano , songwriter , rock , jazz , soundtracks
Jack Bruce was that rarest of musicians who got better with age. To me, his performance here is better by far than when Cream did the original. Awesome of course to see and hear Clapton still in form at 60 and so happy to see this trio do this awesome reunion. Thank for sharing !
This is Eric at his very best. I don't agree with people saying he peaked with Cream. His best was '94 to '05, at least skill wise, he certainly had that fire in his younger days
I really enjoy this version too. Awesome.
All three at the top of their game...wow.
I will always say this. Spoonful brought the most out of this band. They used to do 20 minute versions of this song which were beautiful. But even in this 7 minute version, they were able to fit so much. The greatest of the greatest!
I love how much variation they crammed into those jam sessions. I get multiple flavours of my favourite Cream song
they should have made this a lil while longer
R.I.P Ginger and R.I.P Jack :( both are individuals and SOO creativ! that the band found together after so long time and they played such a incredible amazing creativ "jaming" concert! LOVE this band!!
1 of my favorite blues songs. The Cream just take it to a completely different place :)
Then, now, and forever. The greatest guitar Eric Clapton has ever played? Jack Bruce playing bass by his side, Ginger Baker bringing up the back with the most hypnotic drumming in rock music’s history.
Freaking love that bass tone
Absolutely the Best Bass player in the World is the Great Jack Bruce
the bassist of EL CHICANO is awesum
I was 11 and I would listen to my sister's 45s when she was gone. I always played the B sides, because I'd never heard the songs on the radio. These guy's B sides were the best in the history of music. I didn't even know who they were. Here I am, 52 years later, still getting blown away by the mastery of these legends. Glad they did it one more time.
R.I.P. J.B.....One of the most Legendary BASS players of my time and for timeless others also ...Luv ya Bro...
I was gutted when Cream split, they were one of the best bands ever. No one can say who was better in the band because they were fantastic in their own right.
Bad to the bone, I wish they could play for ever
This is really an amazing version of this tune. Cream always played this tune great, but this is burning!
I love how ginger still looks high off his rocker when he plays even after all these years.
Muscle memory.
Jack Bruce, the most powerful white voice to ever sing the blues. The fact that he's a master bassist is just insanity
Yes he is.jack sendy.
Jo Ann Kelly, just sayin'. Janis Joplin... Peter Green.
Can't forget Greg Allman
SRV
He's definitely in the conversation but my vote goes to Steve Marriott
Three master musicians at the absolute top of their game . RIP Jack and Ginger .
Wow, Jack was on fire here!
Agreed the standard by which all others are measured
all 3 on fire , and that is why Cream so great . Each thought they were the Best
And what a voice Jack had too!
Love this concert, never tire of watching it Cream forever !
Just a spoonful of Fresh Cream makes my day slide Purrrrfectly along .... thanks lads for all the eargasms since 1967 ......... we's getting old together brethren !
*1966
Anybody think they aged like fine wine, better than ever!
Jack still has quite a voice!
...spoonfull of Cream satisfies my soul
Bro, they were fantastic
it's so nice to see an audience just sitting down and listening, it always pissed me off that you could be in the 20th row on the floor and not get to see anything because everyone would stand up and not sit for the entire show, and one time when I was 16, I saw Kiss and everyone first stood up, so you couldn't see anything, and then everyone stood on there seats so they could see, but then even the front was on there seats, and you could barely see anything again, so I ended up standing on my seat for an entire show with people taller than me in front of me like a brick wall, and what really gets me is how many concerts where the star on stage asks the audience to stand up, like they couldn't be enjoying the show if they are sitting down, but when i watch this amazing reunion from 2005 i think wow, what a lucky audience to see this rare show, and to actually be able to see it from any seat in the house, what a concept
no one is hooting and hollering either, you can actually HEAR the music. i hAve been to a couple of concerts that I could not hear because the folks next to me where whooping in excitement. I got the excuse that they had not heard them live in along time. Geeze I had NEVER heard them live, and i paid not to hear this idiot WHOOP in my ear?
Royal Albert Hall, London- you don't stand in the seats! ha! It would be like going to the Lincoln Center in Washington D.C. It's a good idea to dress in nice threads and postpone the medications till intermission.
i wish..... i wish i was there.......
Jim Dragon Me too.
I have 5 years when that concert happened.
I would liked know that music at that age.
Jack Bruce just classic vocals and great bass playing and well the others Eric and Ginger just wonderfull.
For your listening pleasure, music perfection.
Great voice, Jack Bruce is not only a superb bass player but also very good vocalist. Thanks for uploading this concert.
Cool funky version of Spoonful...excellent!
School is in session. No band has been able to come close to these guys. It is a real treat watching them after all these years.
Such a perfect musical moment...
What a great cover.
There is just something magic when those three play together
Good enough for me..... thanks Jack
these 3 taught us all how to jam
This came together like they played set yesterday. Maybe because they are hands down 3 of best ever to play. Maybe because it's engrained in their souls. Probably more so that what they did as group just so simple. Nothing unnecessary added for fluff yet nothing missing. Just perfectly deployed magic. An absolutely masterful display
There was a Stratosphere to these men. A higher Air they lived, breathed and Flew in. Either individually or together. A Higher Performance.
Listening for 50 years now.
R.I.P. Jack and Ginger.
Rock Legends!
A lot of rock this song is also smoothed out with the rythum and the melody of blues ! Absolutely a Mint performance by all of you 🎸
A lot of rock smoothed out with the rythum and melody of blues ! Mint performance by all of you !
Sin palabras la mejor banda del Rock Inglés!!
Bruce el mounstro del bajo y su voz tan particular...
Magnífica banda....
So glad Jack Bruce got to do this reunion, Smiling all through it.
Jack gets my vote as best rock vocalist ever!
eric burdon also buddy miles
"Best" is too much, but the whole world would sure be a sadder flimsier place without Jack Bruce's generous gifts.
I love him for racing to the mic at an all-star show where no one knew who was supposed to sing the first verse. Someone had to! And since he didn't know the last few lines, damn if he didn't lean in and sing "bla bla bla bla!" Rock & roll 🌟
1967, vw beetle with 8 track tape deck, wore the Cream tape out and actually blew the speakers. Still listening and feeling it.
These masters could do this in their sleep better than most awake ....
These guys may have had a few a few fall outs between them but when they get on stage together they are magnificent.. Very tight.
There's none better
Willie Dixon to Howlin' Wolf to Cream....You couldn't ask for a better Blues trio...
I can DEFINITELY say I Saw these INCREDIBLE Musicians do this Song in Concert: June 1968 Vancouver BC.
I bought this DVD after seeing this clip (actually it was only the solo I saw) brilliant
The very best
Man! Look at 4:52 - 5:00. Such emotion. Jack and Eric are FEELING it. They're not on our plane of existence at that point.
I wrote a big post a moment ago and it didn't show up. Anyway, My very first car was a 1970 Mustang, and the previous owner left an 8 track tape of the cream in it. I have been a fan every since. I am 60 now and still love the cream's music.
+Rhonda Glover It's not The Cream, it's just Cream.
It used to be The Cream back in the days. They changed it years later to just "Cream"
+Bruno lee sorry to take the wind out of your sails, but before they were globally known as cream, they were and always will be "THE CREAM", as in the butter fat that rises to the top of unpasteurized and/or unhomogenized milk. the best, the finest kind. but, unless you were born 1965, you probably wouldn't know about getting milk delivered to your door and having to shake it to mix the cream back into solution. to this day I still shake my milk before drinking. but, excuse moi just thought you might like to know and Google a London club CRAWDADDIES not sure on the the spelling but certain the name. later, 👸sldc💝ERICCLAPTON😎.💑 THE MORNING AND EVENING AND THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MOON AND YOUR OWN MIND THAT YOU CAN DREAM IT DONE BY CHRISTMAS ALL THE UNSOLICITED CITED BY THE LIGHT FLOODED ON LYRICS TO THE RIGHT DID THAT YOU CAN DREAM 💭 IT DONE BY CHRISTMAS 🎄 🎁 CHRISTMAS 🎁 🎄.HIGH TIME WE WENT OR SOOO GLAD XXXXXXXXXX HERFOREVERMANHASHISGOREVERWOMAN BFOREVERMANFOUNDHISFOREVERWOMANS THE SAME THING AS A SIGN OF RESPECT IN MY ELEMENT OF OLD WASHED OFF THE UNIVERSE SOOO PLEAZE ALLOW ME TO DO CHORES WITH MY LIFE OF ME KNOWS LAYLA COMFORTS AND YOUR OWN HOME AND GARDEN OF MY FAVOURITE GENRE OF MUSIC AND LYRICS TO THE RIGHT NOW AND YOUR OWN HOME AND GARDEN OF THE ABOVE STARS THAT YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS ABOUT THIS IS MEYE DISCLAIMER THIS IS FIT FOR ME TO DO WITH DREAM. . ¡ Claro que sì ese ! Tres tipos magnificos ♡ ¿ entiendes?
Cream in terms of time and songs and live performances is the biggest thing in the history of music. No one ever did so much for music in such a short time of stay
Disagree
one year ago 2014 October 25 Jack Bruce dies ( aged 71 )
Rest in Peace Jack
+Günter Harz That's why this is so very precious.
almost 3
The Bass on this song! Long Live the music of the South!
Ginger Baker is still my all-time favorite drummer!
Unbelievable how exceptional he was
Most drummers played the drums. Ginger Baker WAS THE DRUMS HE PLAYED!
Yep. As a drummer I find it amazing that they start so slow compared to the original, and Ginger doesn't push the tempo one bit. Incredible.
Thanks for posting.It IS great.
Jack & Ginger are simply The Best on their chosen Instruments !!!
Saw them at old Boston garden years ago -could not hear for 3 hours after concert -sensational concert!!
Jack Bruce was the King of rock, blues and jazz bassists, EVER!
no one can sound like they do they are awesome
Cream,the best!!🎸🤘
We're so lucky this was recorded.
Cream Fantasticos! Una guitarra,un bajo, una bateria....y una " locura de musica" de tres estupendos musicos e interpretes! Que mas? No se necesita, nada mas! Solo...disfrutarlos!!!!!
The best blues jam ever!
It's great to still be able to be fed spoonfuls of genius
Musique as an héritage for all of us ,all of young musicians who start play now in this digital age .
These 3 guys showned us the way, they were amazing of creativity , what an example for young generations
I saw Eric 2times this year and ..if I were able to travel back in the 60', first thing I d do , will be to go seing cream show
Everyone complains about Clapton's guitar, but you do realize he does not have stacks of Marshall amps either, just 2 Fenders, it sounds fine to me. You play music & it sounds like he is enjoying his playing here.
Most influential Band behind the Beatles
Loved Cream as a teen in Phoenix in the 60's (altho my dad had no use for Swalabar getting ready for school! It took this reunion for me to realize what a true bluesman Jack Bruce is both as a player and of course the vocals! We didn't know how blessed we were to live in v1.0 - so happy that their music has relevance to this day, 50 years on!
at 2019 two of they are gone... but what a wonderful group of older citizens, I just want to be like them at my sixties
LOVE them for ever and ever. I can't live without my CREAM.
ONE OF MY ALL TIME CREAM FAV'S . TO LISTEN OR JAM TO.WITHOUT THE SPOONFUL.
Outstanding!..love you Slowhand!
Cisza!! To mistrzowie grają! Piękne.
love the camaraderie
And The Best Blues Rock Band in the History of Music is Cream Yeh Yeh Yeh Yeh
It doesn't get much better than this!
I wish Eric Would Play Spoonfull more often
R.I.P. Ginger Baker, you are now up there with Jack, god bless.
Jack hated him, FYI...like A LOT of folks, his were very cranky, even when younger....ashame...
