I have a Volvo XC90 T8 Hybrid and I regret buying it. When the car is in gas mode, the gas engine is ridiculously noisey loud and annoying. Not to mention my Volvo XC90 T8 hybrid cost me $85,000 ... that's about $10,000 more than the fully loaded BMW X5 eDrive. Oh, and I also don't like the touch screen infotainment system in my Volvo. I wish I had bought a BMW X5 eDrive instead. I will never buy a Volvo again! Just my opinion.
We considered both but went for X5 40e and love it so far.. We drive between 1200 and 1500kms every month in ev mode.. Too bad new gen won't be avbl till late 2019 and now has 6 cyl.. Our 4 cyl turbo is quite economical on highway
Would much rather go with Volvo XC90 T8! Useable 3rd row, faster, higher electric range, better looking, newer technology and safer for the same price!
The Volvo has already gotten quite a bad reputation for quality. It seems almost every consumer review on Edmund's tells of it spending most of it's time at the dealer.
Lower Level After owning the T8 for almost 5 months it's never been at the dealer for any issues! So take all those "consumer review comments" that you read about with a grain of salt. Love our 2016 T8 XC90 and after 3,200 miles getting 43 mpg average :-)
