Hi Mico, great video! I added it to the "BMW X5 40e videos from around the world" playlist on my channel. Keep up the good work! :-)

It was a sad day when my father in law who is a die hard BMW x5 driver diesel told me he wanted me to purchase him the 2016 gle550e instead of this car. But after some comparison and first hand driving comparison I had no choice but to get the GLE550e. The interior is far better, the horsepower combined is FAR better 430hp/470lb/ft and 17 miles on only electric. Obviously both these cars have regenerative properties and have come to find out that in everyday stop and go traffic you dont need your gasoline at all. This car (x5) needs a bigger starting engine platform to even stand a chance.

great review, lots of valuable details, thanks! however still hard to believe that 2.0 i4 is good for such size of a car.

Hey Mico, thinking of buying one of these. But I'm a little concerned about longevity and reliability. Do you have any info about reliability issues with this car?

Takes a long time to charge for 20 miles on battery?
He said it was heavy..must be real heavy with that monster 4 cyl engine

what happens to the additional horsepower you get from the electric motor when electric battery is drained?

    • @micosilver

It is never drained to a zero, the car is programmed to use gas to keep the batter at at least 10%, so when you do hard acceleration - you have electric boots.

3 to 3.5 hours of level 2 charging for ONLY 13 miles on Electric? WTF BMW?!?! I think that's the worst set of numbers I've ever heard! I think I could put something together better than that!!!

You are welcome to try, remember, this is a 6,000 lbs vehicle, it's heavy, it takes a lot of energy to move it.

Terrible technology. BmW should have a quick way to charge up
