That restaurant was definitely a money laundering front. There's no way they could have stayed open doing what they were doing for so long. At the time of filming, Samy was already risking deportation and if you notice, he never let anyone else touch the computer. He also stopped Amy from calling the police.
@@ventricality6997it's possible that was a decision by Amy who wasn't aware of what was going on-wouldn't be the first thing Sammy kept her in the dark about, lol. And since he can't stand up to her, he probably just buckled and let the show happen.
A decade later, they got interviewed and they both are still delusionals that they are right! And Sammy is still doing the pose of folding his hands while looking grumpy and Amy still has that crazy eyes. I still believe these two are escaped asylum patients.

I'm fairly sure that the previous staff never got anything back but I've been reading what other people are saying and they aren't in business anymore, in fact it was a money laundering scheme which is why he was able to invest so much money into the company, he got deported back to Israel due to past criminal history and illegally being in the states which is why you can see in the episode he stops his wife from calling the police and they got divorced, from other things I've read from multiple people is that she still sells her baked goods online in the states which I personally think she should stick with because even Gordon said they were great cakes, she's just not good at cooking

Agreed. Wanna know what i found ironic? Amy literally feels abused by all the costumers and their perspectives on her food and wants to change things up, yet her toxic ass denial personality can’t change anything and yet tends to argue with Gordon of how he’s wrong about everything and that he disrupted their dinner service yet he’s an expert chef who knows how to run a business and how to perfect one. Samy is a very agressive and delusional owner too, but I mean at least he was trying to make cooperation with Gordon and at least proved his honesty. I mean if Amy is that good with cakes, why tf wouldn’t she just open up a bakery? JUST a BAKERY?
I don't have a degree yet but this screams this narssistic personality disorder, always wants to be in control and cannot handle criticism, anything that goes a little against her feels like a direct personal attack to her when its not- yep NPD, npd for sure
I absolutely love that "Don't FUCK with my" attitude from Gordon and he would have beaten this guy to the ground cuz the chef has a black belt under all of that kitchen experience.
The aftermath of this episode was also incredible. They basically completely melt down on facebook, as thousands of negative comments poured on their facebook page, and they started to reply and insult the commentators. Which brought thousands of more insults. Until facebook took their page down. The episode made national news, the tax office started to look into Sammy's tax returns and found fraud. The restaurant closed after that.
Oh my god, poor kady. She was such a sweetheart and she was fired for what? Asking a simple question? Not only that but the other waitress didn’t get given tips and it all went to those awful owners.
I feel like the people who look after Gordon's channel keep posting these Kitchen Nightmares episodes because Gordon went through so much while filming that show
I know this is a reply on almost every episode of this show, but it's truly baffling this episode. They cleaned up the restaurant before he showed up. They organized the walk-in. They made the place look perfect. Why? What did they expect Gordon to say? "Holy shit, I have no idea why you're failing. The food is brilliant, and you're doing everything right. What's going on?" Just shrug and act like it's the world's greatest mystery?
they didnt want help they just brought gordon over to talk about how "good" the food was to prove customers wrong, because they were so deluded into thinking that only their opinions were right
The first few minutes I realized, that samy definitely is a criminal, because he don't let employees to touch his computer or handle the money. Only a criminal does that, because they think, everybody is like them and try to steal from them. And amy is simply mentally ill, you can see it in her eyes. I wrote their name with small letters, because they don't deserve any better after seeing how they treat other people. It's really sad :(
Yeah he has the crazy eyes as well, but the crazy violent eyes I’m pretty sure if the guys in the beginning would have went out the door without paying, they would have been massacred.
i heard somewhere that the cakes weren’t even amy’s. she supposedly bought them from someone else. i’m not 100% sure if that was a rumor or not, but considering how wacky this woman is, i would not be surprised if it was true. these two were the most cruel owners i’ve seen on the show
Consider that they did not show one single scene of her baking or frosting anything. I highly doubt she was there at 3 am or she would have let us know ALL about it
Sad thing about all of this is - Sammy and Amy actually got a lot of business after this aired. Even thought Gordon did nothing to improve them (because, obviously, they didn't allow him), people still went there after seeing this episode. They made a lot of money after being so rude. I don't care if people "just wanted to see how it really is"... they still gave them money after seeing this. It's just crazy... these two should never work with people again, ever!

You're allowed to feel sucky about it! But just remember that (constructive and warranted) criticism is nothing personal, and doesn't reflect on YOU. :)
@@CDmusic10 It should not be. Criticism is saying you're doing the wrong thing. Here is what you can do to improve what you're doing or do the right thing. Remember the old saying sticks and stones will break my bones, words will never hurt me?
Amy really needs a massive reality check if she thinks she had done nothing wrong. In addition, if she thinks that her food is good, had she even tried it herself? I also do feel very sorry for what Katy had to endure as she didn't do anything wrong.
She says at the beginning that she realized she had a passion and talent for cooking at a young age, I can't help but think that she made grilled cheese sandwiches for her parents, and when they liked them she took that as 'I'm a professional cook'
Bravo Gordon! I would say a big percentage of owners that you have helped in the past didn't deserve your time energy and help. I been watching Kitchen Nightmares since they were first aired on TV and love rewatching on TH-cam. I think only you can do what you do, forget the swearing (which I think has its place, and some people need that shock factor) underneath that is a man that genuinely cares and has a undeniable passion for food and everything connected to it. You are not successful because you swear at people you are successful because of your drive to help people to be as successful as you are, so screw the ones that don't listen to good advice because they are going to fail anyway and continue to do what you do, and let that passion shine through.
7:17 If someone screamed at me then literally stood in my way at the door and demanded I pay for a meal I hadn't received, that guy would be getting a slap. Fair play to the customer for keeping his cool. He must have been furious.
The fact these two are trying to sue Reddit, yelp and possibly Facebook just because they don’t want to admit their food is shit and people are exposing them along with this show is just hilarious. The biggest example of Karen and Kevin 😂
Who cares. All Gordon wanted was to help them and because of their craziness and inability to handle the slightest amount of criticism, he had no choice but to walk out. He really said "if you're not willing to listen, I might as well stop wasting my time trying to save your business from closing"
He couldn't help them because Sammy is a sociopath and she is a demented narcissist. The only people who could help them are mental health professionals. The problem is, people like that never seek help because they cannot understand they need it and will rather blame the rest of the world for their problems. These people never changed, because they can't.
The only time I'm glad a restaurant went out of business from kitchen Nightmares the way they were treating their staff and customers is just horrible and appalling these two should never work in the customer service industry again let alone own a business that serves them SMH
I think Ramsey realizes that within the first 5 minutes of meeting them you can see it in his face expressions when he said you are both nuts he was dead serious

After that pre test of equipment night, the production team must have sat down at the bar in the local hotel and said: " and Gordon's here tomorrow, boy oh boy, this is going to be good, let's keep it normal, let's tell him it's a normal restaurant with normal restauranteurs, yes let's tell him that."
if I was being yelled at like that after literally asking about a pizza after waiting for an hour I would buy a billboard and advise people to never go there
Ramsey is how we should all treat our servers. He always treats them with respect unless they show disrespect. Every episode he treats them with such kindness
i was really shocked when i saw gordon wasnt yelling or anything because i just wanted him to put them in place. But if even gordon is this calm in a video like this then he himself is confused.
It’s funny that at the beginning of the show Katy who got fired gave a good summary & critique & reached the same conclusions someone as experienced as Ramsy reached at the end. She even said he’ll be wasting his time & they are a lost cause which is an exact prediction of how the episode ended!
Whenever I pay by card, I always hand the tip to the servers in cash tell them "this is FOR YOU". I'd go mad if I ever found out that the owners are taking the tips.
Amy almost seems to go complete psychotic mode at some points… the flat out ignorant statements are questionable… like when she said “you guys, I make great food” after freaking out on a customer OUTSIDE THE RESTAURANT… this is the best episode for mad owners 😂
It is very sad to see people behave in that way. In a way where they are not open to hearing a different perspective from someone outside of the emotion and who is a professional. I think we have all been there in our lives at some stage. I feel very sorry for Amy!

That restaurant was definitely a money laundering front. There's no way they could have stayed open doing what they were doing for so long. At the time of filming, Samy was already risking deportation and if you notice, he never let anyone else touch the computer. He also stopped Amy from calling the police.
Great observations
Very smart
Yeah, but you wouldnt want the attention from a TV show, eitherm
@@ventricality6997it's possible that was a decision by Amy who wasn't aware of what was going on-wouldn't be the first thing Sammy kept her in the dark about, lol. And since he can't stand up to her, he probably just buckled and let the show happen.
Wasn't Samy a pimp?
These owners had the gall to to to Dr. Phil and say Ramsey ruined them. No, they ruined themselves.
They act like they were set up when they were filmed even before Ramsey showed up and the staff members even admitted what was happening was legit

That owner keeping those tips is SUPER illegal. Someone better have reported this and get the servers back the wages they had stolen from them
I'm fairly sure that the previous staff never got anything back but I've been reading what other people are saying and they aren't in business anymore, in fact it was a money laundering scheme which is why he was able to invest so much money into the company, he got deported back to Israel due to past criminal history and illegally being in the states which is why you can see in the episode he stops his wife from calling the police and they got divorced, from other things I've read from multiple people is that she still sells her baked goods online in the states which I personally think she should stick with because even Gordon said they were great cakes, she's just not good at cooking
That was sammy's pimp custom to keep the tips.

The first few minutes I realized, that samy definitely is a criminal, because he don't let employees to touch his computer or handle the money. Oh yeah, they were store bought.
Consider that they did not show one single scene of her baking or frosting anything. I highly doubt she was there at 3 am or she would have let us know ALL about it
Supposedly a cake store nearby came out and said she bought the cakes, and resold them for a higher price.
Most restaurants do the same but she charges a ridiculous amount and claimed they were hers.
Sad thing about all of this is - Sammy and Amy actually got a lot of business after this aired. Even thought Gordon did nothing to improve them (because, obviously, they didn't allow him), people still went there after seeing this episode. They made a lot of money after being so rude. There's a difference between recognizing the criticism but still struggling with it and simply not acknowledging it and acting like you're above it. You are not successful because you swear at people you are successful because of your drive to help people to be as successful as you are, so screw the ones that don't listen to good advice because they are going to fail anyway and continue to do what you do, and let that passion shine through.

It’s funny that at the beginning of the show Katy who got fired gave a good summary & critique & reached the same conclusions someone as experienced as Ramsy reached at the end. She even said he’ll be wasting his time & they are a lost cause which is an exact prediction of how the episode ended!
