I love how every time Geoff's voice goes super low, they actively look like they are struggling to keep their eyes from rolling into the back of the head and passing out. Hahaha.
lol at your ear drums shaking. I"ve seen this guy sing live. You know how a bass guitar over a loudspeaker can make your rib cage vibrate? Yeah. So can Geoff. I sat there w/ my jaw dropped. The vids are nothing compared to a live performance. I highly recommend the experience. And yes...she's right. He's a walking thirst trap in that video. :D
The reason it's a "low bass singer cover" is because Geoff has been doing "bass singer covers" of things that are originally light baritone to counter-tenor, and the original "Sixteen Tons" is by "Tennessee" Ernie Ford (a magnificent Bass-Baritone) who sang it in a bass register to begin with. So, rather than being a "bass" it's a "low bass" cover. If you aren't already familiar with "Tennessee" Ernie Ford, look him up (given Brad's background, I'd be surprised if *he* hasn't). Gospel, Country, and what I can only call "working-man pop" in a smooth, smooth bass-baritone voice.
