This is without a doubt the best punk rock record collection video on TH-cam. I go back to this every other day. No other people on TH-cam that showcase their rare punk rock records like this one.
And here is the live Scott Helland post. Thank you Scott for all the wonderful music you've given us. I just left comments on Light Blue and Fight because I dreamed about Outpatients last night. (and thanks to Frenchy and the Punk for posting this just 4 months ago.)
Finally, I come across a good record collection video on TH-cam. Thanks for putting this up. Not only have you got your hands on some great underground bands but also having shared the stage with them with your own band (Deep Wound) is equally impressive.
These are great vids! Also watched the other album run through + the Motorhead vid. Please post some more if you have more album's. Maybe cassette tapes or CD's?
I almost fainted when you held up the Neos 7 inch because it's so rare. I'm from Vancouver and I can't even find a copy. Though I heard Joey Shithead from D.O.A., his label Sudden Death may re-issue both 7 inches on cd. (rumour has it)
You are super lucky, I wish I was around when this stuff came out. I can't find anything by these bands, except minor threat, black flag, and the bad brains. If you every want to get rid of some of your records let me know ( yet I doubt, you would). I only have a few hardcore records because they are pretty rare where I am. Great collection. I wish I could have that teen idols ep. Ian McKay is one of my biggest influences.
That 'Depraved' record is actually an Angry Samoans EP called 'The Queer Pills'. That's one I still have and cherish, along with a good bunch you show here, though your collection blows mine away. For a limey at the time I did pretty well for US hc records though.
U have an amazing collection sad i had those records at one time sold them in the late 90s on that battalion of saints e.p. i had it and george saw it at my pad and said mystic printed that without the bands knowledge no royalties which they deserve
A curious thing, though, when I got into US punk and HC, basically after hearing 'Let Them Eat Jellybeans', 82, I think, and seeing Black Flag late 81 and then again 83, I lost interest in most of the UK stuff, the so called 'UK82' stuff. I had virtually every one of those UK records you showed, and saw many of those bands, but stopped listening to most of them, and sold most of them early 90s. Just not the same vitality for me as most US stuff. Not as sharp, not as 'let rip'. England is still shaking off its 'uptightness' to this day, though we've got good stuff going for us too. Maybe it's a 'grass is greener' thing. I met people in the US who were so 'blown away' by the bands I'd seen, met, supported, etc., but I'd have rather been in the US.
Kept all my Discharge records though. Dead Cities too. Oh yeah, and 'One Law For Them'. UK Subs too, though I sold most of those coloured EPS because I needed the money, but kept that 'Countdown' one, because 'Plan of Action' is a great song, and it's not coloured vinyl so... (though I didn't get so much for those records really, a friend In NY sold them for me, not really worth it in the end, but you sell stuff when you're hungry), Had to keep 'Bad Man' by Cockney Rejects. Loved Deep Wound & Outpatients, by the way. I still have 'Bands That Could Be God'.
As a brit myself I couldn't agree more, Discharge were the only unique UK '82 band along with Crass and Conflict, though the anarcho stuff differs strongly from UK Hardcore I guess. Though we got the '77 stuff bang on, there's no doubt that the USA perfected hardcore punk, much better than UK bands other than Crass.
have about 90% of the US stuff, 10% of UK stuff (minus Discharge which I have all of), (canadian who knows). interesting the only 2 "international" hardcore 7"s you had were Headcleaners from Sweden, which are a couple of my favorites.
I have some rare records but not like this i wish. I do have a still sealed original press of new york wolfacks album from 88 and i have a lot of rare michigan punk 7 inches
A collection like this is sadly only attainable if you actually lived through the damn thing like he did, or you are very, very wealthy and don’t mind spending hundreds, even thousands per record

The best collection I've ever seen, I'm trying to reach to that level! 💪
Some brilliant singles/EP. Good old Boston hardcore.

Hit me up if you ever wanna sell any of those gems. I’d love to finally get my mits on that Solger EP!!
Wow! Just wow!
a lot of great stuff here, the freeze and black market baby are essential punk
I would kill for original pressings of those singles. Discogs estimates that Teen Idles single at 800-1200 dollars now.
Got most of these records myself!

black market baby...yeah
Wow
It's a mirror image of my collection. Atleast the English bands. Valued this stuff and all in plastic covers. Plus pretty funny commentary. Onya.
teen idles, soa - love it!
We need another run of the deep wound stickers
I want one!
GREAT BAND!
Bought that Beasties on cassette at Walmart of all places.
Good collection! And they still sell good shit everywhere. I have a good collection of singles and ep if I do say so myself.
Check my channel .I knew a Mike vega that slammed skins for dr.know

Hey I have the School of violence album! I recently got Karl to sign a copy and he tripped to see someone had that. Anyway nice collection
Great singles! I couldn't tell what The Freeze was? Polly Wog Stew!
Guilty face by the freeZe
Does anyone know where I can buy some of these in 2016?
Man, the outpatients logo with the eye as the O was so damn cool! Who made that logo? Outpatients basement tape is SERIOUSLY killer.

Best part of this video is..... Army Life is killing me! me! me! 10:30
Have you ever come across No Trend's "Teen Love" 7 inch?
Nope...
ive seen it on discogs but it's pretty pricey
do you have the mike right next to the ocean? lol
great shit tho.
U have an amazing collection sad i had those records at one time sold them in the late 90s on that battalion of saints e.p. i had it and george saw it at my pad and said mystic printed that without the bands knowledge no royalties which they deserve
That band YDI is pronounced "Why Die".
You played in Darkside NYC?
yep, did a bunch of shows and recorded a couple tracks with `em
Ydi is also good 👍
Aloha would you be interested in selling any of your vinyls ? Big hobby of mine to collect original punk vinyl
I'd have to give it some serious thought... I love this stuff...
I love this ! Would love to see more from your collection. Lp's and anything you might have.

Whats your take on 90s hardcore such as records from Ebullition and Gravity?
Ebullution, the FL doom band? They sounded cool, I missed Gravity though... haven't heard `em... yet
