thanks Rob I just went down to the shop to see what materials I had to make a gauge, and I found a old rough scratch marking gauge that I rarely use and replaced the pin with a pencil, now I have the ability to mark as you laid out and all my small pencils get a second life So happy 👍😁
Found your channel when looking for a single-point band saw fence and saw you using this in that video. I made this today and while the shaping isn't perfect, it works very well! I added 2 magnets for a little more traction inside and used some scrap wood to get the dimensions of the cuts right before going to the table saw (still messed up). Very happy with how it came out and can't wait to use it! Next up is the flipper and then the band saw fence!
That's a really ingenious wee tool Rob, I really like the use of the magnets. I was surprised though that you didn't epoxy the internal magnet in the first place - you use the ol' epoxy resin in everything else! Cheers mate, I enjoyed that.
I made something similar with a 15 cm (6 inch) steel ruler as the shaft with a notch filed in the end that exactly fits my mechanical pencil. It's a two handed tool though ... so yours is better. $0.02 (Also ... liked and sub'd).
As someone who snipped the tips of my index and middle fingers on the table saw watching you cut the grove was nerve wracking

Yes I would make and use this to quickly mark corner holes and layout lines for screw holes to make them symmetrical 👍
Fantastic work, Rob! 😃
I really liked your design! It looks great!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Definitely going to make one for my use. Thank you for your great videos. Very well presented and executed!

Definitely going to give this a try! 👍👍
Another great build!
Cool project.
I love it, Rob!
Nice!!!
Beautiful! I think I may be able to bang one of these out (though it might not be as nice to look at)
I'd make it
