I saw all the parts at the beginning of the video a thought: "dang, when I get my lathe I'm gonna make one of these" only to read not 10 seconds later you made the whole thing without one. I'm gonna go make one myself after this video! Your video's are always brilliant and never fail to inspire :)
Cool trick from pask makes: part in the drill press chuck, lower and clamp into fixed drill vise, loosen chuck and put your drill in the chuck, perfectly centred hole in your part. Mint gauge you've made!
Awesome job, that was a sweet video! Ive been trying to find a video on making a wheel style cutter, this is exactly what i was looking for!You came up with some great ideas

A lovely piece, your construction thinking is amazing especially with limited machine tools. Just a couple of thoughts, non ferrous metals especially brass do not need lubricant or coolant when drilling it is self lubricating with free carbon molecules , also when using a cutting gauge the correct action is to draw it towards yourself, less ,likely to slip even though it contravenes the golden rule, use sharp edged tools away from your body for obvious reasons. I do love the finished product and hope you don't mind if I copy your design and method. 10 out of 10 from this woodwork teacher!
It looks great. You can actually buy the wheels so you don't have to make them in the future. The only thing I would do differently if I were making it is to sand in a flat place on one side so it won't roll. It's really gorgeous though. Very well done.
Such great work, well done! Can I ask, at 6:40 why didn't you drill a hole in the wood and thread it on, so it was trapped between the two brass pieces instead of having to add it in two sections?
Hey, sorry for the late reply. It’s a file from a flea market. It has no brand name in it. It is pretty fine, but because of its size, it still takes off quite a lot of material.
aha, trap for young player, you don't want it fully round otherwise it's always rolling and falling from the bench. Give yourself a favor and make a flat side.
I love your attitude, get the job done, don’t let any obstacle get in your way. Brilliant

Thanks, I’m glad you like it. I will hopefully get a lathe at some point:)

Can't believe you made that with the tools that you used even though I saw it with my own eyes. You're an inspiration. Keep doing what you're doing.

I was watching Woodpecker's and used to think I should buy these. Now after watching this channel "I should make these."

Thanks, I’m not sure I understand this trick but I’ll think about it:)

You think he needs two lathes, huh? 😜
Oh no... Then he would have LESS creativity ang ingenuity!
But, Highly Impressive Workmanship
Well done,

Very inspiring
Brilliant, just a thought, could you use a carbide round replacement cutter used for wood turning?
Yes, good idea!
Geniale. Che artigiano prezioso
Semplicemente: bellissimo!
I’am impressed and you are a skilled craftsman!
What kind of drill press chuck do you use? I never saw such a chuck. Thanks for sharing! 🤝
Hey, thanks! I use an old AEG hand held drill in a stand as my drill press at the moment. The chuck also works for SDS - type hammer bits.
A vintage AEG hand drill? Like it a lot and shows nice on your vids.
@@XaltLures Yes, it is not really ideal for this type of work and it is also very loud. But it gets the job done...
For sure! Have a great weekend and i keep watching your vids. Cheers mate!🍻
Good job
I like it

It normally takes longer that you would expect:) but have fun!

Can I ask, at 6:40 why didn't you drill a hole in the wood and thread it on, so it was trapped between the two brass pieces instead of having to add it in two sections?
Thanks! The main reason is that I didn‘t have a nice piece of wood that was thick enough. But it would have been better...
@@imadethischannel Nothing wrong with how you did it in the end! 👍
Hi So tell me about the large file you are using. What brand cut etc? You do nice work.
Hey, sorry for the late reply. It’s a file from a flea market. It has no brand name in it. It is pretty fine, but because of its size, it still takes off quite a lot of material.
I wiil buyed it!
Brilliant Workmanship Dear, I But why don't you reduce on Scrap Generation and Wastages
Hey, what did I waste?
Great ,amazing, thank you.good job ,Jesus bless you.
Haha, thanks!
Perfeito.
Muito legal.
great work! I subscribed :-)
Genius!
interesting drill, what's it called?
Do you mean the “lathe”? It was made by a company called Wolfcraft. I think it’s from the 80ies and I cannot really recommend it:)
You are proof that tools do not a craftsman make!
wow
Next step: Laser etch a ruler on the tube.
Why? Increase usefulness and turn a great job into tool candy.
Precioso
O, Stary.
😍❤️
Muito bom
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great work but it’s a cutting gauge not a marking gauge
Well, there are very similar things sold by major manufacturers as marking gauges.
never drag the file backwards over your work it blunts the file and messes up your work........
Truly precision machining. Oi vey.
