The original version of "Walk On By" by Dionne Warwick was recorded at the same December 1963 session that yielded her hit "Anyone Who Had a Heart". "Walk On By" was the follow-up to that single, released in April 1964 and reaching number 6 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and number 1 on the Cashbox's R&B chart.

Dionne was another singer who had that easy to listen to voice. She had tons of hits, many written by Burt Bacharach. This was one of my mother’s favorite singers too :)

Dionne Warwick is such a great talent! She had soooo many hits back in the day. I remember my mom loving and playing all of Dionnes’s music when I was a kid. Another song, Do you know the way to San Jose, was a big catchy hit of hers too. You should check it out. I got to meet Dionne at a media event a few years ago. Very sweet and tiny petite lady. this woman has the most incredible voice that you can recognize after one note. It would be great for you to go through her song catalog especially the Burt Bacharach how David songs which she made famous with her voice. She was their muse, and she was so good at singing their time signatures and wording and sneaking in and around them.

Great reaction to a classic song and singer! Even though Dionne Warwick is primarily known for her softer pop songs like this, she could really belt when she chose to. @@EmpressReacts she is mostly known for her work with Elton John in the 70's (they had a #1 duet, "Don't Go Breaking My Heart"), but she had been around since the early 60's. She is still recording, too - her last hit was about five years ago, "Sidesteppin' (With a Soul Man)"
