Rory Odonoghue. (Thin Arthur) One brilliant and unique musician. He had a band called "the cool bananas". My husband saw them play once in Newcastle. He said they were very professional, and very original. And Rory was amazing. A lost talent. So sorry he's no longer with us.
I have terrific memories of Aunty Jack and Rory in a show for children on the ABC one afternoon at 5:30. They did the skit about trees flying at night when children were in bed asleep. When I heard the punch line about trees flying but then when asked, "oh, I thought birds flew and trees were rooted". The retort was, "Oh, they get very tired". I nearly rolled out of my lounge chair laughing.
It was on when I was growing up in Perth. At one stage my mum walked into the lounge to see what we were watching - she told us we'd be better off watching porn......
My team leader at work is 50 years old and had never heard of Aunty Jack! Never heard Aunty Jack nor seen her! We figure she had a really sheltered child hood!
It sounds a little slow for this version but maybe its just me. I live and breath Aunty Jack :) and Kid Eager and Kevin C at at the abatoirs discote,que :D I still drop quotes from the shows and see them as more sophistated in their comedy than we can manage today. All we have today is stale marxist kitty cat fails and reality self entitled bitching at a dinning room table interspersed with insurance ads only of course... eeeeeeow.
