A few things. First, the Australian version of "Close order swanning about." Second, if the guy moves through the minefield without stepping on a mine, simply prance where he prances in the sand, and you'll survive (a case of if it is stupid but it works, it's not stupid.) Third, I just saw this in a military manual - so just bear with me, which stated the individual should kneel down, use a non-metallic rod, and probe for the mines. It just leaves out the dancing. It was not an Australian Army manual, but an American one, so I suppose we leave out the dancing and prancing - which probably is an English influence inflicted upon the Australians (just an American point of view - so bear with me.)
