Interestingly enough, even after Alireza blundered a trap of the rook, he was still completely winning but made one more blunder with g5. That is why we call this win "lucky", and an objective player as he is, we are sure Daniil would agree with that.
aa I think it’s fair to say that if you get a higher than expected number of miscalculations by your opponent, you’ve been fortunate, or lucky. Of course it’s not lucky as in rolling a 6.
Really? So, what, he was supposed to realize, with 4 seconds on his clock, that the position after Kg6 Kxc5 Kxf6 Kd6 was still winning for him, even down a rook? What a load of horseshit, lucky my ass. Plenty of blitz games are won through inaccurate play, that's the nature of blitz. He lost by position, so there was nothing "lucky" about it at all
Look at where the kings are placed after the handshake. If both the kings are on dark squares, it means black won. If both the kings are on white squares, it means white won. If the kings are each on opposite colored squares, it means the game was drawn.
Very unprofessional title. When you make a mistake in chess, you simply lose. No luck necessary. If you miscalculated you lose, no luck involved. The title of the video is unbefitting for an organization such as FIDE. Should be ashamed.
Wow dude, take it easy. Just because you wear a suit it doesn't mean that everyone has to work according to your standards. You also need to learn about titles made to get views.
Ohhh yeah, luck, sure... As if the position of Dubov's pieces didn't count for Alireza to make a mistake or blunder. The title of the vid is pretty lame to be honest.
Keep your eye on Dubov, he represents the very best of Russian Chess. A pedigree that needs no defence. He is a fighter and is not scared of risk. I predict plenty of fire on the board with this young man.
Look carefully at 3:20 when Dubov does castle. Alireza moves but Dubov didn’t hit the clock already. So Alireza didn’t lose time. Is this legit ? Sorry I‘m new into chess so I need to question this.
Thanks for the great video, FIDE Chess. Even top GM's acknowledge that in order to have a great tournament, or win certain games, takes a certain kind of luck, regardless of practice. Sometimes it's the 'other guys day', next time it might be 'your day'.
if firouzja took on e5 with the rook before sacrificing it , it would be a favourable position for him , but he did blunder you can’t say it’s luck like the title
Danill wouldn't be offended by the title. When he recently beat Carlsen he said "I played like an idiot today, but it worked". He is aware that his style has drawbacks, and sometimes he won't qualify for big tournaments at all because of it. He relies on pressurizing the opponent and "milking" a blunder with great creativity and instinct... He dosen't think of himself as a World Championship contender, he's just a real artist of chess... Modest guy too, he wouldn't mind this tite. A true genius nonetheless.
NubiaRising If you are in such a loosing position against a 2730 like alireza your are very very Lucky if you win. You should put yourself from the dubov perspective.
This is Alireza's page I guess. I don't think this is FIDE's official youtube. I'm not even sure if FIDE has youtube channel. One thing though, this page's title is obviously in favor of Alireza. I'm not sure if the author of this is aware that they are making an offensive title. Making excuses and disrespecting others ability of winning ang calling it lucky is outright dimissive. It doesn't make Alireza a better player. Better admit that Alireza blundered than calling Dubov's win a luck. Partly yes, mostly because Dubov is also a good player. Also true that Alireza underestimated g5 and lose. Alireza is a good player, but he has a lot to learn and work on. Same is true as a human being. He has to learn to respect. When he played against Magnus and lost, he accuses Magnus and protested. It's clear in the video that his claim is flase. So you see, if he respects Magnus, he wouldn't do that. Magnus is older than hom and also a world champion. So instead of whining and crying like a kid, man up and accept defeat. If Alireza figures that out, his future in chess is bright.
I put dislike because spoiler in video's name, moreover there is no luck in chess, as long as players are put in equal conditions. It was a brilliant defense with a rook trap pattern in the end
Dubov was fortunate (i.e. lucky) that his opponent blundered. If you are in a losing position and your opponent screws up, that is a poor reflection of the opponent, not a good reflection of you. I’m not questioning either of their skill, but for a super GM such as Firouzja to blunder twice in such dramatic fashion is uncommon, and as such Dubov was fortunate.
sorry to say but he missed an great opportunity to punish dubov. instead of playing Qh5, he should play rook d1. this move pins knight and stop to capturing white knight which was leading mate in 2 after some exchange on d6 square here is position: 5:21 white to move
Why is title biased? In chess, if someone makes mistake he loses and if his opponent does the same, he wins. Does it mean that every player who wins does so by luckiness? Not at all!
No luck here, complete skill. You may argue that alireza blundered so it was luck but I argue that it was dubov's skill with time that won him the match.
9:03 Alireza would have won if he had played King takes G5. After the exchange for Dubov rook with passed pawn or possibly queen. Alireza had 4 pawns for 2 pawns. Dubov's king would have been late.
Interestingly enough, even after Alireza blundered a trap of the rook, he was still completely winning but made one more blunder with g5. That is why we call this win "lucky", and an objective player as he is, we are sure Daniil would agree with that.
Booooo! Change the title.
@aa luck exist, but not in chess!
aa I think it’s fair to say that if you get a higher than expected number of miscalculations by your opponent, you’ve been fortunate, or lucky. Of course it’s not lucky as in rolling a 6.
u need to know that who ever makes a mistake loses... no excuses sorry but dubov won n firouzja lost period calsen still the best

You can clearly see Dubov saying something in Norwegian before winning.
jajajajaa
Haha alireza probably filed an appeal
And he trows the water 💦 bottle...
I come from that video. Just clicked in this one to see if Firouzja ended crying as he did with Magnus
Hahahah
I find chess games much more enjoyable to watch when you don't know who wins
Why?
Black won
Look at where the kings are placed after the handshake. If both the kings are on dark squares, it means black won. If both the kings are on white squares, it means white won. If the kings are each on opposite colored squares, it means the game was drawn.
i think he mean the title of the vid just spoil who wins
100% true
Dubov is such an exciting, fresh player. His openings receive a lot of attention (deservedly so), but it's still clear he is a very intuitive player.
Sprtschk and he casually wears a balenciaga sweater which i like
Imran Rasyid bro you are the first person to notice this. That sweatshirt cost £1800
Idk why but it’s so soothing to watch Dubov move, he’s so chilled
really underestimating title shame of you FIDE
FIDE Chess is a fans of Alireza.
looks like that! At least I'm not gonna support him at all!
@@d.d.2311 It doesn't matter. He has my support.
Me too. I like all kind of chess geniuses.
That's cos he's playing under the Fide flag now after running from his country
Well he is their first official citizen 😆
You should change your title. Dubov won this, no luck involved.
Firouzja had a winning game but blundered.
@@Chaturanger exactly he BLUNDERED there is no luck, he just miscalculated.
@@Chaturanger all you assholes here need to say where he blundered.
Its a bloody luck Firouzja is a better player
Lol. Its an intentional rook sacrifice by firouza. He thought he got the advantage but he calculated it wrong. No luck involved.

Exactly. He made a mistake and lost the game , as simple as that. We can't just undervalue or depreciate.
yes, calling pro player win lucky? what is that mean.
Completely agree. Dubov simply calculated better in the end game and under time pressure. Nothing to do with luck.

how come lucky..
I know that firouzja is winning but he did a mistake. The title is very unfair to dubov I think
Up next: "Caruana lucks his way past Super Genius Of The Universe And Most Brilliant Man Alive Firouzja" 😆
But at the beginning we had the wishes of "luck to everybody", what went wrong? 🤔🤔
White rook went wrong. It is rather every Thing than every Body. Luck was not for things I guess.
And "Stap your clocks" lol
Stab ;)
@@MordimersChessChannel hahahaha lol.

Love the way Dubov move his pieces 💗 steady and definitive ✨

Agree
It's just unsuitable. Let's call a spade a spade.
True mate. Throughout the game there was not a single sign of luck.
Keep your eye on Dubov, he represents the very best of Russian Chess. A pedigree that needs no defence. He is a fighter and is not scared of risk. I predict plenty of fire on the board with this young man.
I guess in that case anyone who has ever beat Magnus Carlsen has gotten lucky.
Ali's expression at the end is priceless!! Great game by Dubov though.
Why do Firouzja fans always cry like Firouzja himself. Lucky win my a**. It's a legit win.
There was no luck there, duvov was so great on his finishing moves
Мне нравиться спокойствие Дубова. Хочу таким же быть хладнокровным.
Dubov is one of my favorite players❤️
Look carefully at 3:20 when Dubov does castle.
Alireza moves but Dubov didn’t hit the clock already.
So Alireza didn’t lose time. Is this legit ?
Sorry I‘m new into chess so I need to question this.
probably not allowed
8:38 no lucky, Firouzja "blundered" because time was running out

Даня,красавчик!
isn't ilegal to move before clicking the clock? 3:20
I do not understand "Lucky" word in the topic. The situation was fluctuating, and Danil finished it with precise moves. What it's to do with luck?

Why didn't firouzja captured the h6 pawn when danil pushed it??....plz someone answer
Даня браво за эндшпиль, самобытно и тонко перекатал нервного соперника. класс.
еще раз смотрел партию, классно в окончании перехитрил, видел дальше Дубов.
Anybody explain me-
Why AliReza resigned? He could easily balance the pieces by promoting pawn.. I didn't get that.
Mohaimenul Imam Dubov will give back the rook for the pawn and play e3. And promote either g or e pawn next.
Not only a terrible title, also the result is spoiled. Please correct the title by fixing both.
Даня виртуоз
Algún día uno de ellos será el próximo Carlsen, preferiría que fuera Dubov pero puede que Firouzja tenga más posibilidades
2021 y Alireza ya está en tercer lugar, predices el futuro

I lost all respect for Alireza after he tried to screw Carlsen.

I like the stile of Dubov.
If you like his stile, wait till you see his style.
Молодец!
Any a coincidence is not coincidence He worked and deserve to win so you’re wrong please change your title
I really wonder from those people who said that Dubov is not lucky, yeah he is not lucky he is VERY LUCKY. Alireza completly beated him
8:45 Why didnt Alireza go with pawn A4 to A5?
blocked by rock
Change your title! Dubov won... mistakes should always be capitalized on (a win), and a failure to do so is (a loss).

Luck and chess are not compatible. I’m a beginner and even I know this. Mistakes and bad decisions can win you a game, never luck.
Please, don't say the result in the title
As an organisation you must be neutral. The title shows your lack of tact and respect towards Dubov. It's belitteling and vexing. Have some class.
I don't have no idea about the game I love watching it the only thing I know who shake hands 1st lose the game
can someone post the written game?
It’s easy to see here how Dubov is a former rapid world champion.
