KOF, SF6 and fighting collection were on discount before PSN due to poor sales.
@@nerigiron7704Xbox won't put it on GamePass both parties have to agree to it. They don't just put games on GamePass just bc they can. That's not how it works. If that was the case then every game released would be on game pass if it was just up to Xbox. The MT Frameworks engine for Xbox is the reason why it isn't coming to Xbox bc the MT Frameworks engine is only for older hardware. When Xbox cut support for the Xbox one that also included ports that used that engine like this collection. But also there isn't a PS5 version either. PS4/Switch (old hardware)/PC.
The fact it’s skipping Xbox is strange but I can kind of see why. Steam/PC, Switch and PS4 have much larger user bases when compared to even the PS5 and the Xbox series. Unless there’s some architecture reason for it not being able to be ported to the PS5 and Xbox series that could be why, unless there will be a PS5 and Xbox version later on and they’re taking a little more dev time. But if we’re talking physical copies then the Switch and PS4 are a must buy, I doubt this collection or MvC2 will ever be available again outside of this collection, because this pretty much makes it one of the rarest fighting collections ever. Enhanced features, unlockable and playable characters for the first time in their respective series, just the quality of life features make these the definitive versions of those games. In short, pre-order people! This game NEEDS pre-orders, no! DESERVES pre-orders.
Yeah I totally hear ya on that one I think this being the ultimate edition for Marvel Vs Capcom makes it a must buy, for real! I do think the reason for the no Xbox version (and native PS5) is more of a technical incompatibility between the older framework and newer hardware. Really hope they find a way around this. The demand for this game is HUGE!
@@HapBains- Capcom will have to do something because the demand is growing for Xbox gamers that desperately want this collection(I mean how could they not?). Even if it’s running on older framework I can’t imagine it wouldn’t be too difficult to do some patch work and get it running on PS5 and Xbox series natively. Unless Capcom has plans and we just don’t know yet, it could happen. However given that Capcom doesn’t release a lot of their games on Xbox it leads me to believe that the overall consensus is correct with low sales on Capcom games on Xbox, some games do well, while others don’t. So it could be Capcom looked at Xbox sales of past releases and just decided against it, but now that there’s growing demand for Xbox owners that may change. I guess we shall see.
Oh man I'm gonna sound like a right "well actually" kinda guy but here goes... I think disc and disk both work, when talking about the CD format. I believe disc is usually relating to music discs but when it comes to something computer, then Disk can be used
Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 on the 360 was my swan song for these games. I stopped playing the capcom fighting games from then forward. Simply because the modern fighting games are simply to hard for me to keep up. I'm not sure if it's Capcom or Konami, but I would love for the 4 player co-op arcade X-Men game to be re-released. Along with the Simpson game as well (which was on the 360 for a short time).
Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is still so so so good! (I still play it) And I really didn't enjoy Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite after it. An X-Men re-release would be brilliant!! After this MVC Fighting Collection, I hope Capcom sees the demand for more of their Capcom/Marvel video games. Ref. The Simpsons - are you talking about Hit n Run? That was a good game
I presume you mean PS5 and Switch? And if so, I agree... If it sells well then Xbox should definitely do something about it (although I feel most gamers would have already invested their versions on the other platforms by then though)
@@HapBainsactually the reason its not on XBox is more of a compatibility issue. Capcom has a history of skipping Xbox with any game that uses the MT Framework engine. MvC collection is using this engine. Xbox One SDKs used to support this engine (which is why the last capcom collection at least hit Xbox One), but this support deprecated in 2021/2022 and now no Microsoft SDK is compatible with the engine. MT framework has been a popular engine at capcom for 15+ years, but it’s on its way out, slowly but surely it’s been replaced by the RE Engine for most of their big games. PS5 also has the same problem, which is why PS5 players will be limited to a PS4 port. Supposedly the amount of work it would take to update the Xbox Series X/One and PS5 would be more work than it’s worth, especially since the amount of games that will be using it going forward is likely in the single digits. MvC collection is currently the only (and maybe last?) unreleased game still being developed with this engine, so it doesn’t surprise me capcom doesn’t want to put that much work into it. Thankfully, switch capcom games have been leaning on this engine the entire time, especially ace attorney games and monster hunter switch games, which is probably why it seems like they are treating switch as the primary platform.
Everything you just said 100% 🤜🏾🤛🏾 I do feel that if the demand is high for Xbox users then perhaps (and that's a BIG perhaps) this could be financially viable for Capcom. But yeah the MT Framework incompatibility does seem the logical reason for no Xbox or PS5 (native) version. Nintendo Switch definitely needed this game for real! Good to see Switch players get priority on the marketing side
Thanks Hunter, I appreciate it mate. Yeah MVC and Metroid Prime 4 were huge reveals!! Can't believe it! (I was talking about X-Men COTA in the Discord fairly recently too lol - so glad it's included) And Zelda... That looks great!
Skipping PS5 makes sense to me. Performance between PS4 and PS5 for older games like this should be negligible. PS4 games are fully playable on all PS5s. And probably the biggest issue is that fight stick support for the PS4 is robust and for the PS5 is very much a mixed bag. I have both the PS4 and PS5 versions of TMNT shredders revenge. I pretty much only play the PS4 version on my PS5 so that I can use an arcade stick.
Indeed - although the Playstation versions weren't too great. I used to lean on my Sega Saturn for 2D fighters back in the day. The Playstation was king for 3D though
I'm hopeful that this is simply due to Xbox potentially listing the 360 port of MVC2 as one of these backwards compatible titles. I know its unlikely but it'd be great to have the option to play that port which is seemingly the definitive one, versus the arcade port which seems to be featured on the collection.

Japanese developers will go to the Japanese consoles first. Sometimes these collections release in Japan first, I think Capcom beat ‘em up collection and some collections of Street Fighter came out in Japan first.
I'm guessing it's because they can reach majority of playstation players via PS4 (native) and Ps5 via backwards compatibility - instead of two separate versions
Its stupid that its going to skip xbox historicaly these fighting collections dont make capcom money the last one they did flopped and the before that one barely made even they need all the help they can get and they are shooting themselves in the foot by not releasing it on xbox
Microsoft has way too much attention on AI falling apart to even get new games into last gen Xbox One. Especially when they are making clear their focus is on next-gen hardware. PS4 and PS5 and Nintendo Switch are the consoles to get them and I have a Switch to buy the game for. I just have Capcom Fighting Collection on my Xbox One, which I will not upgrade anytime soon. But that’ll be the one reason to get the sequel on another console is because Microsoft is pro-AI and next-gen.
@@HapBains Tech YTers are saying Apple is the way for AI. Snapdragon is right behind Apple when it comes to alternatives, but that just speaks hardware for Windows and Google than software. Which Apple is the master of both. And I think Apple is going to help as a backend to Google and Microsoft’s AI model. Because Apple isn’t one place but the people. There wouldn’t be a WWDC if it weren’t for people across the globe helping to program Apple softwares into Apple exclusive hardware.
Yeah this thing about Game Pass being the reason for not putting it on Xbox sounds suspect to me. It's been long proven that the games on that service still bring profits to the developers. Especially games like this one which are similar to the old Xbox Live Arcade releases back in the day.
I do miss XBLA from yesteryear! Good times! Yeah I'm not sure about the whole 'GamePass is at fault' but who knows what metrics Capcom would need to analyse for this decision making
No PS5 is not a big deal anyway especially since so many Sony playerbase still have PS4s and are not looking to upgrade anytime soon, more money being made there as well. Also PS5 is backward compatible so you can play the PS4 version through your PS5. In reality, what is the PS5 version going to offer? These are retro arcade games, If its available on Switch, which it is, then that is all you need to know. You dont need a beefy hardware to run this collection of games. The decision for no Xbox is still a surprise for me though, kinda like a SFV situation but different.
Yeah you're right that no PS5 native version isn't a downer at all, with the PS4 backwards compatibility. That's a win win for sure! A big surprise that Nintendo Switch gets the game - a massive win for Ninty! Yeah no Xbox version is a 👎🏾 Hopefully they fix that
I understood Street Fighter 5 not coming to Xbox because Capcom needed help financing the game and Sony stepped up to provide the funds. It was gonna be a console exclusive by default on those terms. But this fighting collection skipping the Xbox ecosystem completely is a huge let down for me.
To be honest, I don't think so bro. My understanding is Sony has the right to Movie Spider-Man but not video games Spider-Man Well that's what I think anyway

Yeah the two big focal points online are GamePass and no Fighting Game Community... I don't know for sure but it's a big 👎🏾 for Xbox-only gamers unfortunately
UMVC3 not beig her makes sense cause 1. This collection is solely cocused on the ARCADE MVC games and UMVC3 never had an arcade version since it was mainly released on consoles. 2. You can still buy it on the PS Store of Xbox live or luckily own a physical copy of either PS4 or XBox one versions.
When you’re trying to make money for a certified banger. You don’t want to take losses that we know happens when you have to make the same game 3-4 different ways to suffice for x box players on all their consoles. That’s why they lose to Sony. You have too many consoles that in the production side of gaming nobody wants to take money from their revenue to make more version of the same game. Real x box fans know this is what’s hurting them. Strong enough to see the truth; too weak to accept it
I know it might hurt for some, but it's time to let the Xbox go. The game is on the 3 biggest platforms and it ensures the health of the online. There is no crossplay and without crossplay Xbox would be empty in days. At this point it would be best to accept the passing of the xbox. Microsoft is already doing that and bringing their games to bigger markets. Everyone wins with it. The way the market is with rising costs does not sustain 3 consoles anymore. PS, Nintendo and PC are the future.
You make a very good point. I do feel Xbox needs to remain as a strong competitor in the gaming space, otherwise competition will be lacking for gamers. Maybe those Xbox/Steam rumours would do good for the platform to remain a strong competitor to other platform holders.
@@HapBains Have a feeling that Xbox as a hardware platform is going to go away in a generation or two. Microsoft seems to be focusing on the Gamepass, to the point they're probably going to be considered an alternate storefront for PC like Origin was.

Pro controllers exist. Makes more sense on switch since it is a Japanese console. Xbox is where it makes the least sense because of lost sales on gamepass.
@@NostraSamus huh??!!! That’s prob one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. So Japanese devs should only release on Japanese consoles? So then call of duty should only release on Xbox and pc? Also, how can you loose sales from gamepass if it doesn’t go on gamepass? Not every game is on gamepass. Also, Xbox pays them to put it on gamepass. Then on top of that, if it was on gamepass and ppl are playing it on there, you can still charge them micro transactions and dlc. It has been proven that devs make money gamepass.
I understand it doesn't make sense why it isn't on every console, but now you guys know how we Nintendo fans felt when the "Disney Afternoon Collection" was released on every system, but the Nintendo one/s for no reason. (And worse, every game on it was an NES game making it make even less sense. You can't tell me the Switch "isn't powerful" enough it literally has the similar Castlevania, Contra, Street Fighter, and Megaman Collections, and they work great on it.)
@@HapBains Yeah, especially considering the the Switch was being first released when it first came out. The same developer even released the MegaMan and MegaMan X Collections on Switch, so it's not like they had difficulty from Nintendo to release their games, or anything. I admit I do have the "Disney Afternoon Collection" on Steam, but I'd rather have it on Switch for the portability, and so I could use an NES controller for it. (The Switch has those and SNES ones perfect for retro games.) Plus my potato laptop doesn't play Steam games well. Maybe Disney had something to do with it, but they were fine releasing the "Aladdin/Lion King" collection on Switch, and every other platform. So yeah, I hate it when they release a game for every platform, but the one you prefer/have. So don't get me wrong, I have empathy for X-Box fans. You'd think we Nintendo fans would be used to it, as oftentimes it's usually us being messed over by third-parties lol. Some TH-camr named YellowFlash even made a video about the situation, stating "Why would anyone get this game (Marvel X Capcom Collection) on Switch?" Apparently, he's not aware of the backlash over "Disney Afternoon Collection," or how well retro game collections like the "Cowabunga Collection" sold on Switch... (And it's not like it's going to have "better graphics" on PS5.) I tire of people and developers not treating Switch as a legit game system. I just think the anti-Nintendo fanboys are more annoying than the pro-ones. MegaMan is a classic, though the difficulty takes some getting used to, it becomes a real gem once you start to get into it. MegaMan 2 is a good one to start with. I am curious about what the new upcoming Nintendo system/portable is, and what new or unique features it has. They'll have to make it more than a "Switch 2" with better power/graphics.

Maybe they actually want to make some money instead of the pennies on the dollar MS might be offering them for a GP release. MS aren't offering these pubs/devs anywhere near the 70% of the revenue they would make selling their games on the console vs what they would make through GP.
Xbox simply doesn’t have the fan base to support this kind game. That fanbase has been conditioned to not buy games, so I expect many big names to skip the xbox entirely as the juice isn’t worth the squeeze.

I really want to know what the reason is -its still baffling
Good that you got the option for Nintendo Switch though - MVC on the go baby!!
You got me wondering how many Capcom games actually are on GamePass 🤔
Yeah I totally hear ya on that one
I think this being the ultimate edition for Marvel Vs Capcom makes it a must buy, for real!
@@10191927 it doesnt need a PS5 port though. Every PS4 game is playable on PS5

I presume you mean PS5 and Switch? And if so, I agree... If it sells well then Xbox should definitely do something about it (although I feel most gamers would have already invested their versions on the other platforms by then though)
🤞🏽
Here's hoping...
Everything you just said 100% 🤜🏾🤛🏾
I do feel that if the demand is high for Xbox users then perhaps (and that's a BIG perhaps) this could be financially viable for Capcom.
But yeah the MT Framework incompatibility does seem the logical reason for no Xbox or PS5 (native) version.
Nintendo Switch definitely needed this game for real! Good to see Switch players get priority on the marketing side

Yeah MVC and Metroid Prime 4 were huge reveals!! Can't believe it!
(I was talking about X-Men COTA in the Discord fairly recently too lol - so glad it's included)
And Zelda...
That's actually a great point - I never considered the fight stick compatability
Originally these games came to PS1 back in the day except for punisher. Punisher came to Sega Genesis. MVC2 was for PS2 and Sega Dreamcast

Totally hear ya on this one

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 and infinite are both on sale on their available storefonts. There's no reason to put those games onto the collection.

Why this game, going with PS4 rather than Ps5?
I'm guessing it's because they can reach majority of playstation players via PS4 (native) and Ps5 via backwards compatibility - instead of two separate versions

Plus my potato laptop doesn't play Steam games well.

MVCFCAC lol
Is it catching on yet? Lol
Japanese thing
Possibly but I personally doubt that mate
There are other Capcom games that are on Xbox so I do think it's got more to do with the MT Framework compatibility (maybe)
It will come to Xbox just like the other games
Fingers crossed 🤞🏾
It would be a shame if it didn't
I'll be jumping in with the PlayStation 4 version myself
Sorry but not to sell it on Xbox is prejudice against Microsoft/gamepass users and bad business practices
Maybe they actually want to make some money instead of the pennies on the dollar MS might be offering them for a GP release. MS aren't offering these pubs/devs anywhere near the 70% of the revenue they would make selling their games on the console vs what they would make through GP.
Gamepass isn’t profitable for 3rd party publishers. At all. Its a bad business model.
@@NostraSamus that’s BS when the gamepass already has a Capcom collection already and it’s already been ported back on the 360 before
@@ztv1990 Well precedent spells the future out. Those collections likely sold poorly, so this collection isn’t getting released.
@@NostraSamus Actually back in the day they had Marvel vs Capcom 2 on XBOX 360 that sold well so not having it back on next gen consoles is terrible
Xbox simply doesn’t have the fan base to support this kind game.
That fanbase has been conditioned to not buy games, so I expect many big names to skip the xbox entirely as the juice isn’t worth the squeeze.
Honestly, I do understand the concern but we've had many Capcom fighters on Xbox previously (which, I assume sold well) so having this Fighting Collection skip Xbox altogether feels weird... Although I hear it could be something that could be rectified down the line, if it is more of a technical issue
Uh, no dude.
People on Xbox are pissed.
You're just a moron if that's your thought process.
@@eyeguydojima7131 That may be true but if you look at sales of past games, they sell way less on xbox. Plus, no developers or publishers want their hard work played for almost free on gamepass.
When estás pendejo:
well, Xbox has Hellblade 2 on Game Pass, so everybody’s playing and everybody’s winning, or something? something-something. good luck half fun, Xbox
Lol ouch
After my Dark Souls 3 run, I'm definitely jumping into Hellblade 2
That’s why I never like Xbox
Could be a technical issue between older framework and newer hardware
This is dumb
The video or the subject?
@@HapBains @HapBains sorry! Not being on xbox. Youre video was great! I subscribed 😊
@@ewatkin2 ah that's very much appreciated 🙂 thank you
