  • James, Odie's Oil Creator and Founder gives a tutorial on applying our hard wax to a beautiful piece of purple heart wood.
James shows you how to properly apply Odie's rich, dense Hard Wax as a top coat to a previously finished tabletop. The process is simple and easy using only a white-pad, rag, plus the tried and true Odie's application method.

I put Odies oil on a table top I built. Buffed off waited 3 day’s. Then put butter on it just now. Will buff off in 90 minutes. How soon after the butter is removed can I put wax on?

When do you recommend the oil and when the wax?

Thanks for the video. Very helpful. I have put about four coats of spar urethane over monkey pod slab that will be a table top. I was wondering if I could apply this wax over top as the final coat to give it a super smooth finish to the touch. I am going for a satiny finish. Thanks so much

Yes, that would definitely give a satiny finish.

What’s the difference between the wax and butter. When would you use one vs the other?

The wax is denser, like an old school hard wax, and will provide a bit more sheen than the butter. I would use either over a coat of Odie's Oil or Odie's Super Penetrating Oil. For more information, visit our website www.odiesoil.com/
