      @@MrBikboi we’ve had it for about a year and a half. It’s been great. There’s zero dust in the compartment. The bags last forever. We had an old kenmore canister that was good but eventually needed replaced.
      It’s stupid expensive but we got it from a dealer and this is the kind of vac you buy and keep for 20years with some tube ups.
      My only complaint is a motorized handheld attachment would be nice for furniture and stairs. Especially at these prices.

      I just noticed the soft roller no longer spins under power and my LS502 is only 11months old. I have read others being quoted $75 for a replacement part as it isn't covered under their 5 year warranty. I have some security torx bits on their way, is there any possibility I can repair this myself or did the plastic gears give up? I can spin the soft roller and there is no sound of broken bits so I'm a little hopeful it jumped the track or some sort.

    I had no idea that soft front roller didn't suck directly into the vacuum, or didn't work independently. I was impressed w/ the gimmick. Very disappointed that front roller is mostly for show.

    To be completely honest with you, when I am vacuuming my kids cereal that’s has been kicked under the table I am not going to gently hover over the cereal and pull back over it with the vac head. I’m sure the Henry is a fine machine but it seems like an apples and oranges comparison.

    • @PerformanceReviews
      @PerformanceReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      All the difference here is one will pick it up and one won't. The effort of which you want to put into vacuuming is completely up to you.
      It's definitely an apples and oranges comparison! Considering one is a quality machine that's made to clean and the other is the disposable cigarette lighter of the industry.

      There is no apples to oranges comparison. This Shark vacuum just suck. They made the vacuum look good for advertisement but doesn't do a good enough job and that's how they trick people into buying their crap vacuum

  • @codyridley4860
    @codyridley4860 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The reason why the soft brush doesn't have suction is because it's more intended to seal the main vacuum area it's flexible enough to let in big debris and helps keep the seal for the suction on the main brush instead of having to lift up your vacuum or select a height manually

  • @sagestubbs3433

    I have the Shark Apex duo zero M. It has constantly stopped working in the middle of vacuuming because the filters do not allow for the motor to cool and it overheats. I’ve had to replace the motor twice and they even sent a new unit, and I still have the same issue.
    I had a basic navigator for years and never an issue on carpet, the duo rollers (especially the front one) were constantly getting clogged up with things and I had to take apart the head almost every time I vacuumed. Horrible experience.

    • @PerformanceReviews

    We’ve just had Shark vacuum cleaner with a very comfortable to use duo head that stopped working after 3.5 years. The motor just spat out dust along with nasty burnt rubber smell. It’s disappointing because the filters were cleaned regularly and we thought it was taken care of. Oh well, never again will we buy Shark. We now have a pretty machine that does not work. Got Dyson instead. Hopefully that will last longer.

    Very interesting demos and info! I have a one yr old shark and really thought I loved it (until it died last week-I know, I know you told me so ;) but they are standing behind it, so that's good) I hate to admit it, but I'm just not that great of a housekeeper. So when I started using my shark and it sucked that much yuck out of my carpets I was totally sold. Now, what you're showing gives me pause about the rollers and what it's actually cleaning up. I'm a little confused why the other vacuums don't have more in the dust cups/bags if they're better? What is the shark sucking up? I understand different bag/cup capacities, but wouldn't the actual amount of debris be similar or less? Our lifestyle and amount of people create pretty big demands and expectations from a vacuum, we keep our windows open in the summer, high pile carpets, stairs, hardwood, tile, a cat and ironically, allergies, 4 active kids of all ages, a husband and son in construction... I need something that is incredibly powerful and just cleans the crap up. I really can't spend thousands on a vacuum. So I'm kind of scratching my head about what to do.

    So Hoover and Henry will pick up almost as much on a hard floor if you do a much slower pass. Hair may get stuck in a shark roller if you snap off the machine before it's had a chance to suck it up.

    I am thorn too. I also bought the most expensive Shark Vertex Duo two years ago. Furthermore, I had had a Miele before, for 13 years, that was too heavy for me, and decided to leave Miele for the "great performing" and lightweight Shark. Miele started having issues 10 years after we purchased it. Well, two years after buying Shark, the machine's head is not suctioning, and the soft roller is not rolling. I am still in the middle of learning how to deal with the problem. After watching several videos, I guess the band that connects the two rollers might have broken, but there is more, I think. I have cleaned all the filters and everything I could clean in this vacuum cleaner. It took me 3 hours to remove all the hair stuck in the connection between the soft roller and the vacuum head, because there is no easy reach to that place without putting the vacuum apart, which would void the warranty. I will contact Shark now and will see how it goes. And yes, I didn't expect such an issue two years after the purchase of a $400 vacuum cleaner :-(.

    But see. Where you say the fins are "not as agitating" as a normal bristle brushroll, I hear exactly what I need. I have *cheap* laminate floors. A normal vacuum brush roll scratches it. But I feel like the fins are one wide flexible piece rubbing across the floor, not catching the edges of my floor planks. Whereas a bristle brush roll is a bunch of very stiff bristles just digging into the edges of my flooring planks. Am I just crazy? My house is so open that sweeping is a pain because its such a wide area that the dirt and dust is just blowing everywhere every time I move the broom, so I want something to suck up the dirt when it hits it lol

Long and light fur is just a disaster for all of these rotating brushes that spin about the cylindrical roller axis.

      You can get air brush for Henry too. But Henry just generally works by brute force suction. Nothing fancy no special duo brush bars etc. Henry being super simple all parts can be replaced easily and cheaply. Even the motor brushes are replaceable.

    Thank you for this. I bought this Shark about a year ago and we have a lot of pet hair. This vacuum is making me so angry, the uneven carpeting causes the beater bar to stop so I have to keep resetting it! It’s going back to where I purchased it! It stops sucking up the dirt and the hair jams it….constantly having to clean it! Thank you again!

    • @TheRCVolt
      @TheRCVolt ปีที่แล้ว

      The uneven carpeting is not the vac fault and dont know how much dirt and hair is on your carpet but these are for lighter every day jobs not really intended to replace a corded deep suction beating vac. Think ppls expectations can be too high with all cordless vacs?

    Ok, I have a huge issue with this video. And that's the fact that most people are stupid. If you're really trying to help people you can't just show them science. You gotta put it in context for them Cause I'm sure about half the people who were on the fence on buying a shark, watched your video and still bought it. When the threshold between opinion and fact are broken you can be bold about stating fact. You need to actually say to the people that the shark duo is trash right out the box. Not label your video that there's just a problem with the shark. You understand the basics in good science. Get bold and don't be scared to stand behind fact. Torch the shark corporate team to the ground for selling people junk. Let people know they need to feel offended

    I bought the shark petpro due to good reviews off a few youtubers i thought i could trust
    After 2 years of owning i had to get rid of it and get a dyson
    The self cleaning roll is bs it does stop hairwraps but all the dirt and hair just builds up behind the roller blocking the airway it got to a point where id have to use a knife to clear the debris from the head each time after I had vacuumed just to keep the airway clear
    Theres no way to deep clean the head or pull it apart so if u vacuum up something dirty theres no way to deep clean the head which becomes quite disgusting
    The suction power was terrible ud pretty much have to use it on boost all the time to pick most things up
    It was shit on tiles and always left sand and hair behind and it was even worse on carpet it just cleaned the surface debris and pushed the rest further deeper
    Since finally shelling out the coin on a dyson I wont ever be going back to Sharks gimmicks and flashy marketing
