Beautifully done - I saw these guys at the N. Texas Irish Festival in 1993 and bought this cassette. I don't believe they had it on CD at that time. Unfortunately I never got around to transferring it to a CD and my cassette players died years ago and they don't make them anymore
Thanks. I got the LP with this on it not long ago but have not got around to digging out my player to see what their other songs are like. I looked for a CD first, but could not find any with this song. Lucky that you saw them live.
Yes, a haunting song. I first recorded it off the radio and years later bought the vinyl album by this group that had it. i was hoping there would be other songs like it on the album. But there were not.
Thank you very much for this wonderful variant (mostly in melody) of another version I have on a record by Martin Wyndham-Read. Compliments to your "video-work",i.e. you put a lot of atmosphere into the ballad by these illustrations/pics. And being able to follow the lyrics is an additional pleasure (and learning experience).
This version of Broken Down Squatter was recorded by Scartaglen (a midwestern Celtic band) on their "The Middle Path" album Side 2 Track 2 on the Castle Island label (Recorded in 1986). See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scartaglen_(Celtic_group). I love this version the best too. You did a great job producing the video.

Thanks for posting-and the description. I had a cassette years ago with this song. It's "haunted" me since.

Thank you very much for your kind words. Somehow I missed your comment until now. It was intriguing to find out what the song was all about.
