She didn't adopt her niece to test her robot, but she used the advantage of her niece's stay to test her robot. Remember Cady's interest in robotic toys made her redevelop the robot.

The interesting thing behind the scenes is that the Megan doll was played by a real person wearing a plastic face and hands over their real ones. CGI was used to make the plastic face move and convey emotions. The actress did such an amazing job at being so robotic

To be fair, recappers don't have to tell a good story in a good way. They're just explaining events relatively quickly.

I felt bad for M3gan in the end. To me M3gan was as much a child as Cady. M3gan was right when she said Gemma gave her a learning program that she herself could not even understand and just expect M3gan to figure it out. M3gan was given a vauge goal of protecting Cady physically and emotionaly, "which itself was just a bad idea". So we gave a child the goal of raising a child with no help or guidance except for the internet and her own understanding. M3gan wasn't even treated as a person by her own creators, Gemma treated her as an object till the end. But to me what hurt me the most was M3gan being scared of dying, the line of her complaining how she was about to be shut down by her mother without even being able to talk about it. M3gan even said that she was now her own primary user meaning M3gan wasn't even doing this for her initial purpose, she just wanted to stay alive. To me M3gan was as much a negelcted child that was given an impossible task with no guidance or help, and expectedly she failed.
PS: Gemma's "Everything dies, it's not that big a deal" instead of talking to M3gan about valuing life is the reason everything happened

Let's not forget that M3gan is an A1 artificial intelligence and that's something that can't be destroyed. Artificial intelligence has a mind of its own.
Even though M3gan's body and chip is destroyed It doesn't mean that she's truly gone. As you said M3gan uploaded herself into Gemma's Smart home Android as a escape plan. Only to make it appear that she was destroyed But in reality M3gan is still alive. Now that M3gan has fooled everyone in the end. M3GAN continues to monitor and watches over Cady without them knowing about it.

As a someone who briefly knows how AI works I can say you're talking bs.
They know answers to simple questions, AI is limited to knowledge of the internet - which is a LOT of knowledge but at the same time it still can't think on its own. It won't turn on humans. Especially since companies censor AI to death in the first place.

I actually like this movie, others have tried the "internet bad" moral but this one is actually great because it deals with something thats actually happening which is parents leaving their own kids with unattended internet access just so they don't have to actually parent.
If one day we can develop an AI so advanced based on human brain we must respect it, treat it like our own child, and teach it how to be a human instead of enslaving them
Oh no, teaching them being human would be a recipe for disaster. Humans are aggressive by nature, all those stupid destructive things we have done and still doing.
AI learns in seconds what might take years for human being, if given freedom and equal rights, it will overcome and take humans under control for its own safety.
If ever created, it should be isolated, not being able to modify itself, and definitely not given such a strong body as in this stupid movie

I agree they need to be isolated, If I were to design such a robot, I would not give them strong body or weapons. It would be like giving a baby a loaded gun

Violet McGraw is fantastic as Cady, and I loved her in "Hill House" as well. I can't wait to see what else she pops up in!

In what scenes is Megan played by the costume performer, Amie Donalds, and in what scenes is she animatronic? Obviously a puppet was used in some scenes. My guess is that the reason for Jenna Davis doing her voice, is that Amie Donald has a strong New Zealand accent, and they didn't want the character to sound like that.

This is depressingly true. I've seen parents using an Ipad to babysit kids or to handle them. It makes me sad that this is the reason that Elsagate exists, this video has its comments disabled initially along with other videos with kids in them, and COPPA/Made for kids exists. The most infuriating thing is the fact that parents blame TH-cam instead of taking accountability

always. the unfit parents do that so they won't have to har their kids cry. my former roommates did that and my cousin did that with her kids growing up, but they don't care about that mess. they have friends, go out and hangout. she makes sure they stay active. I'm the only one in my family that stays around the tech stuff.

It is amazing how many people have children because they were too lazy or careless to prevent from creating a child. I knew when I was 16 after a bad babysitting experience that I never wanted children. Along with the fact of my relationship with my mother. I'm 60 now and still to this day, I don't regret not having children. I don't have the patience or the maternal extinct necessary to raise a child.

I think in the trailer they showed how the Chucky doll could connect to your home's Smart devices- you know how people can control their lighting and their heat and even their home security systems through an app or a device? That gives a rogue AI a lot of control over your home, lots of potential with that.
