Hi Ryan saw some of your previous vids. I love my R16. It's my first desktop in a long time. I needed a PC asap for my return to college for SWE and building wasn't an option. My school had some Dell discounts, so I was originally looking at the R15, I was hesitant because the cooling issues... then boom the R16 dropped so I am an early adopter too. Mine came in around 8/7, I went with a 4070ti/i7 13th gen and I regret the 16gb of ram, I swapped already to 32gb and no more bottlenecks, this machine is amazing.
@@Overbuilt.Gaming @RyanYu I went with the Corsair Vengence DDR5 5600mhz. There is an issue here, the ram is at 4800mhz and I am ok with that but other may not be. I've had my R16 about a week. I love it. The only issues I have are: 1) the AWCC in-game overlay causes stuttering in Diablo3 and Grim Dawn so you have to disable the in-game overlay AND close AWCC then it stops. 2) When the system is idle you can hear what sounds like a feint grinding noise of fans starting and stopping but it's not the case fans, I think it's the psu fans. My R15's also did this. You have to really listen for it, as it's not audible from like 3 or 4ft away. Can't wait for your review. Watched your R13 review a few times.
@@RyanYu See if you can capture that audible noise in your full review. idk what it is, I've had 4 of the R15's pass through here over the last 6 months (All 13900kf/4090 systems, both new and on the outlet mall) and I've sent them all back because of that. At least the R16 it isn't as loud but it is present. Also dealing with support was no help for me. I would love to know what it is. If you have it on the desktop you can easily hear it, if you put it on the floor not so much.
The usual E-waste peripherals were included. Other than that, I'm mostly glad that Dell now knows that the conventional rectangle box model is ideal. I didn't really like that the front part of the case, airflow still looked minimal.
Nice video, thanks for showing us the unboxing. I like the new case design but I don't love it. While I appreciate minimalistic design I think they perhaps went a little too minimal with this one, which ironically is the opposite of what Alienware was going for when they first started as a company. Courtesy of Dell and the modern design team behind AW's products we now have understated, borderline corporate-looking pieces of technology that are rather underwhelming from a visual standpoint. I understand that prior gen Aurora cases were a hassle for people to deal with due its awkward design/tilt, but at least they looked awesome from an aesthetic standpoint. All that to say though, I can appreciate the benefits of the new R16's case design. My only true frustration is that they eliminated the internal RGB. The prior gen internal RGB was awesome (the Alienware handle, the liquid cooler, etc) - it made the internals look like some kind of alien incubation chamber. One of these days when we're far, far removed from prior gen Aurora case design I might pick one up on the secondary market just to enjoy that awesome side profile.
Thank you for the unboxing video. I have the R16. The right cover, where "aurora" is embossed does not have a plastic film. I have seen some unboxing videos where it had a plastic film. Mine does not look used. Is this a cuase for concern?
Thanks for showing us this. Mine came in today, but the sales person told me I could switch out the network card for a 10gbs network card for the 10gbs network I have at home for video and photography editing. There is not spare slot and the network card is built on the motherboard. Don't every believe your sales person.
Alienware sells it as more quiet and cooler than the r15. As you already own an R15, really looking for a proper benchmark on those and on performance of course. Im currently running an r11 and looking for a change.
idk if you can find a proper review comparing apples to apples. The R16 highest end you can get atm is a 13900F and a 4070ti. I doubt many R15's were sold in that configuration as idk if the R15 is available with an F processor. I can tell you the R16 will be much better than the R11 was. I game at ultrawide 3440x1440 locked at 100fps most games. In Grim Dawn I am below 40c for both cpu/gpu with video maxxed out. Diablo3/4/WoW it stays in low 50s. D3 graphics are maxxed out, D4 it's on the 'high' preset, and wow is on preset #7. My R16 config is the i7 13700f/4070ti and 16gb of 5600 ddr5. Hope this helps.

I might be wrong, but I think it has to due with the fact that if they start putting the higher end GPU's in the R16 right at release, no one would be buying the R15. They probably want to clear out that stock before they put those GPU's in the R16. That's just a guess though.

You didn't mention the cheap green ram or the flimsy motherboard that won't fit in anything except their overdesigned plastic case. How about the power supply that doesn't even use standard ATX jacks, so it only plugs into their crappy frankenboard. Putting the front I/O directly on the motherboard is the most blatant example of engineered obsolescence I've ever seen. It's more of the same hot proprietary garbage from Dell! Very plasticky and very boring compact looking design. A departure from the previous model. They improved on the thermals and ventilation, but the design does not scream Alienware. It looks like a $500 generic desktop from Wal Mart. The previous model looked a lot better imo.
Agreed.
When the cheap motherboard dies, you can reuse the CPU and GPU if the MB doesn't take those out. The RAM is garbage, so you don't even want to reuse that. It all goes to landfill, which is where it belongs in the first place.
Dude, you got a Dell!?😂
It's so dark in the case anyway, so you won't noticed that green S that easily. haha.
Easy to replace the ram if you want to. I got 16gb but ordered a 32gb kit
At the time of my comment 11 months ago it wasn’t offered and it still Boring looking.
这速度 牛逼
你也挺牛逼, 我今天发 你就来了。哈。怎么样 这届外星人。。。可以改名叫地球人了。。
@@RyanYu 这个设计相当复古 而且是丑的那种😄

@@RyanYu what .,. :(
Alienware has gone downhill ever since nelson sold it to Dell. It lost its special boutique-ness. Laptops and monitors are still okay....but that's about it
Yeah? Do you say the same thing about Origin PC when they sold to Corsair? Did you see the video Gamers Nexus did? I'm glad you're an expert, maybe you should make videos on YT and we'll just watch you instead!!!
still grinding.
Still too little ventilation, especially up front, and I cannot wait to see the garbage proprietary nonsense they did inside.
Lol. But, overall it performs pretty good.
