    I tore my MCL and my leg was buckling and i couldnt walk for two weeks. As soon as i could stand again i began walking and getting back to my normal life, minus the intense exercise. After maybe two months of building strength back up and stretching it, i was back to normal and over the next month or so recovered back to 100%.

    Did my ACL back in 2009 when I was 53. It happened when my dirt bike ejected me - it thought I looked funny playing at superman... gotta love dirt bikes... 😄 Anyway after talking with several surgeons they diagnosed a knee replacement given the additional meniscus damage (some old damage as well) and that meant at least 6 months and more likely 12 months off the bike. Tough choice. I opted out and started increasing the exercise regime for my legs as I could always go back and have the op. Now 13 years later my knee is very strong and at 66 I still ride my bike. While I can't run and I avoid jumping (except on the bike), I can do everything else. It does prove that in some circumstances, lot's of strengthening exercises combined with balance can postpone the inevitable. And yes Bob and Brad, I do strap (according to your vids) my knees, and use braces when on the bike. You guys have been a godsend for knowledge! 💪💪👍👍

    I tore the iside lig in 2018. It was half way through 2020 before I could walk with a straight leg. and about three years before the muscle wasting was gone. I am still not physically very fit from the length of time I spent with my leg off the floor. I did not have surgery. The painkillers were morphine based and they did not do me any favours either. I copied off my medical records this year. It says minor knee injury. Wait till it happens to you Mr Watson and see if you still call it a minor injury. You won't believe how painful it is.

    • @Darkxarcher
      @Darkxarcher ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey man, Sorry to hear that, I know how absolutely shit and demoralizing it can be but there is HOPE I PROMISE.
      So first off, feeling a lot better, I got my MRI about 3 weeks ago, and lucky me, I torn my ACL, MCL, and bruised my meniscus. its been idk almost 9 weeks now and my mobility is almost completely back and i can walk normal. Only problem I'm still having is squating down, or basically any position that brings my ankle close to my butt. I do a lot of my cardio on a Recumbent bike. it helps my range of motion. I believe a regular knee bend is 130° and I can do that just fine. its when it becomes like 135-140° that the pain kicks in. I have a surgery appointment in 4 months so there is that. I'm excited to get back to being 100% but this time with a fraction of caution. Secondly, this is for you as much as it is for me "DO YOUR GODDAMN PHYSIO!" I know it can be expensive but even if you arent covered, I recommend going atleast once so they could give you an idea or an actual set of exercies you could be doing everyday. Also, No matter how discouraged you may get because of the comparison between then and now, just keep doing it. Imagine youre in your favorite video game and you're the main character. You just got nerfed by the big bad. You can get back to your peak, you just gotta do the grind a little for it!
      Honestly, keep your spirits up! get stronger everyday! We got this. Anytime you wanna talk, and that applies to anyone who reads this, just hit me up! Best of luck!

      @@BenoitC69 Ouch, got a bit of a shiver imagining that. Yea, mine wasnt anywhere near as justified as yours 😅. I was playing soccer. indoor with turf. I was wearing cleats ( i had indoors but cleats just feel better ya know?) second half starts, ball gets kicked behind me, my feet are completely planted and i go full power on that rotation. (I have always had strong legs so i reallly felt this next part) Only the upper half of my leg rotated as the bottom was dug in. Heard 2 pops and pretty much dropped instantly. sigh. On a positive note, my upper body is really benefitting at the gym. aha. Been gyming now for about 11 years aswell, though covid really set me back a from my peak 😮‍💨. 2 months since I've done any real jerky/fast pace movements. One of my favorite things to do was this Obstacle Course, Pursuit OCR. Running up that 15ft ramp, jumping from Obstacle to Obstacle, so im working towards that and obviously Soccer. It did with me. I was in my sixties when it happened. I did not know what had happened. I thought the pain would stop after a few days, then I gave it a week. After two weeks my leg was locked at 90 degrees and the pain was horrific. It took six weeks to get an appointment with a phsysician, and another month before I could see a physio therapist. The treatment consisted of stretching my leg on a bench and having the angle measured. That was all. It stopped when my leg was fixed at a 20 degree angle. It just fixed itself over time. I was glad to know some one on prescription painkillers who bailed me out until I could get a prescription.

    I fell on a toy car belonging to my son and almost done the splits but avoided it by landing on my inner left knee and I basically folded and all my body weight landed in my knee and I heard a pop and was in so much pain for about 7 days thinking I badly bruised it or hurt a muscle I went to the AE today and was told I torn my ligaments and tendons in my knee and have lots of swelling but was told I should be okay because the day after my accident I got my self a brace and done the RICE treatment but I have weeks to go till I can recover I left AE with crutches and told I will be contacted for physiotherapy
    I just want to know with a story like mine is it normal not to be able to bend my knee at all because it feels like it will pop or break / snap and the pain runs up my from thigh and my inner calf and mostly my inner knee and inner left side of my knee that looks like a mini egg atm

      Sounds horrible! I torn my ligaments yesterday whilst sat down!!! I’ve been in sooo much pain! They’ve given me a knee brace and crutches and strong pain killers and said to rest it and physio will get in touch for good scans. How are u getting along? Is your leg better now? X

    I’m pissed at the last physician I saw she hadn’t even ruled out possibilities and I suspect that I have a torn patella tendon can’t straighten my left knee fully but can walk ok. It’s been a couple months now and I’m afraid if I did need surgery the timeframe it should have been done earlier on has gone because my physician misdiagnosed me. Going to se someone may else to see what it is as I know it’s a long term injury

    I’m having off and on knee pain. Normally if i can get my knee to pop the pain lessens. Then I’m good for a while. A timely video. Thanks gents

    “on ITS own”, not “on it’s own” (it’s = it is).
