There's far too many textures on screen at any time fit in the n64's texture cache. The game would need to be severly modified. But it owuld bei nteresting to see how that twilight bird riding minigame would function on an n64, would probably end looking like a bootleg panzer dragoon, lmao
Hot damn, this was excellently put together. That Darknut moved EXACTLY like how he would have in TP, despite it being the OoT/MM engine. How'd you do it?
Like an OoT Extended Edition. Could add some of the extended interactions between Link and Sheik from MajorLink's videos, the Triforce Percent sequence, Ice Cavern as a full dungeon etc.
This is already amazing but now we need the TP Darknut Theme with OoT/MM instruments because that's the only mini-boss song that is true to the Darknut
Well to be fair, that was just the Spaceworld 2000 demo. As for why they stopped using it, the OG Hylian Shield was that bit more iconic even though the Hero's Shield is a class act. Plus the Falcon imagery of the Hylian Shield was kept as the crest of the Royal Family, so it makes sense for Hyrule's signature shield to use that rather than the closed wing Falcon of MM.
An enemy that can take out 2 to 4 FULL HEARTS in a single attack? Thank you for keeping the difficulty of N64 Zelda games, unlike later games where bosses take out half a heart or less!
@velfaern1716 I don't wanna take less damage I wanna take more damage I want it to be Dark Souls level difficult or at least close to it. My recent Windwaker playthrough was too easy even on Hero mode
The jankiness in the N64 Zelda games gave the combat so much weight to me. The newer combat is obviously deeper, but I miss moments like this sometimes. Great work!
@@triple-d2640 Great point! In the new games, the different classes of weapons have their own attacks, but it's always just either pressing or holding the attack button. Hope they can add more combat freedom to future games.
@@mr.awesome6011 I think all of that is owed to them completely and totally forgetting 100% of what the combat feels like. It does not age well because there is zero depth to the encounters at absolute peak, you use the puzzle item of that enemy and then you attack but most times, you just attack. Shield is zero depth invincibility not that it matters because you can face tank anything in these games.
This is incredible and I don't even fathom how someone could make this. This is what youtube is for. Also, good choice sticking with the Majoras Mask mini boss theme 👌🏼
Oh man, I knew what the end result was going to be, but that was awesome! Had me on the edge of my seat litterally. Def subbing, can’t wait to see more
This is so cool! The darknut knights were my favorite mini bosses in twilight Princess and you’ve captured the animations pretty much exactly how they were in tp. How you managed to do that on an older game engine I have no idea, but phenomenal work!
That's so cool! Thanks for showing! Super glad Ocarina of Time could have housed Iron Knuckles and Darknuts each with their own different attack patterns.
I was watching this and was like "I don't remember the dark nut in OoT like this." So well done, I had to question my memory! Awesomeness! Kudos to you.
Because there weren’t any. For some reason, Nintendo decided to go with Iron Knuckles instead despite the Giga Leak showing that they were at least considering having a Darknut enemy as well given how there’s an early beta model of one that modders got working again.
@@Jolis_Parsec It'll probably be that Iron Knuckles had easier AI to do. The Darknut here is obviously closer to the one in Twilight Princess. Both in model and AI. But it would've been cool to see what they wound up doing with a Darknut in OOT.
This is great. Tbh this would of been what the Darknut would be like in Ocarina of Time which would of been a lot harder as Link can’t back slice in game
In an alternate universe this is a MM rom hack and the story behind the darknut is about a baby stolen from its parents and lobotomized so it never learns right from wrong, only how to fight. After the fight there’d be a secret cutscene if you play the song of healing that reverts it back to a baby to be raised by Anju and Kafei. Wow, I just came up with that on the spot.
I apologize if you already know this and you may just mean Darknuts in this incarnation, but did you know they were in the original Zelda game as well? This is awesome to see here!
@@yellowgamers5996 And to be honest, that's my favorite incarnation of them. Such a cool enemy. Darknuts and Iron Knuckles have always felt so epic to fight.
Now we definitely need a sword wielding phase of Ganondorf into the mix. Maybe before he starts flying, or during that phase after we knock him down with light arrows.
ok what would be cool is if, stay with me here, as soon as link enters the temple of time in TP from the decayed door travelling to the temple, it changes from the TP design to ocarina of time design
Just an idea, for the first phase maybe you could make the Darknut invulnerable to sword attacks and force Link to use the magaton hammer since the Darknut is wearing armor, and for the second phase use the sword because he's too fast for the hammer ?
Honestly, fights like these would add a lot more thought into OoT's combat. I feel like they were so passionate about converting combat to the Z-axis, but I can't think of a single fight in any of the 3D games until Skyward Sword that actually incorporates the manner in which Link swings his sword. Maybe the Thrust against certain enemy types, but that's the only one I can think of.
Super cool! It’d be cool if you also remixed in the Link’s Crossbow training version of this fight by combining this fight with the Gomess fight from Majora’s Mask. I don’t know how to code at all so it may not be feasible. It just sounded cool in my head.
