Exactly. Quality of the show through the series is mix but it definitely had its charm. This version of Supergirl will be the definitive one and that new one they are making for the movies won't even be close.

Quite an ending for such an under-rated show. After 6 years you have hidden your identity to the world, you fought alongside brave men and women to achieve justice and honoured plenty of fallen comrades. To your friends and family you are Kara Danvers and to the rest of the world you are and always will be Supergirl. We'll miss ya.

I liked the image of Kara leaving her glasses behind, the symbol of her giving up living a double life. I liked the ending of the show involving Kara being revealed to the world as Supergirl, and liked the fact Cat Grant was the one to do it.

Since supergirl started it has always been about can Kara have it all. Can she be a top reporter at catco or can she be supergirl. She finally realized, thanks to cat, that in order to bring that to fruition, she would have to become one individual of the two. So ending the series like this was perfect for the character

They retconned it tho. The conflict was Kara Zor-El versus Kara danvers. Not supergirl/catco. Her ending should've been about her character and personal identity, not her ability to cut work to go superhero without getting into trouble.
I’m really glad they had Cat be the one to convince Kara that she needed to embrace and merge her lives and I’m even happier they had Cat be the one to introduce her to the world

This leaves so many questions. I would have loved to see how her acquaintances reacted. I really thought she would join the Legion since it would explain her absence in the Arrowverse. This is interesting though.

I’m rewatching supergirl on Netflix and this ending to an amazing show makes me wanna cry. This was one of the best shows to watch on the CW and I’m sad it came to an end, I’m happy that Melissa got to play the role of Kara Danvers and Supergirl. Also, Cat Grant is the perfect person to introduce Kara as Supergirl to the world, I really wish they continued this show but it’s hard to because they’ve had this show for 6 years. Melissa Benoist will always be Supergirl and I’m glad she got to play that role, plus she’s a really good singer
This show is still super special to me. It gave me hope in the worst year of my life. It's also a show that my mom and I bonded over. Supergirl and Kara really were my symbol for hope. This video just appeared in my feed and it reminded me of that. Thank you

What a great ending. Even though the show is over, I have no doubt we’ll see Melissa again as Supergirl. As for story, I would like to know what happens after she reveals herself to the world. And if Clark (Superman) is effected by it at all.

This is my favorite superhero show ever, and I will miss it like you would not believe. I watched it religiously from its first episode in 2015 to now. I am also very glad she's still alive unlike Oliver Queen at the end of Arrow because that means we may still see her every once in a while on other shows like Superman & Lois, The Flash and maybe even Stargirl. But no matter what happens, there will never be another program on The CW quite like Supergirl.

I don’t get why she did that leak. Now her villains will try to hurt the people she’s close to and the people she is close to can’t hurt some of those villains. I get the show ended but logically it makes no sense.
Literally all of her friends and family, besides her mom, are superheroes. Lena is a witch, Kelly and Alex suited up, J'onn is a hero as well... They're all in the position to be able to defend themselves, unlike the past few seasons

Well I honestly did not think this was how this show was going to end. I thought it was going to end with Kara going to live in Argo or something. However, this was a better ending than I thought it was going to be. I will miss this show just as much as I miss arrow and supernatural.
This scene was so powerful. Kara is finally able to be Kara and supergirl as one and not have to keep lying to everyone. I’m sure it was a huge weight off her shoulders. I’m gonna miss the show so much 😭

I grew up with this show, it was my favourite thing as a kid. Melissa was my first favourite actress, and this show practically defined my childhood. I'm feeling a lot of emotions watching this final scene, and I'm really gonna miss this show a lot.
Lord I cried so much in this episode. I'm going to miss Supergirl. I wish we had more good people like Kara and her friends in the real world.
One thing I felt was lacking in the finale is that they didn't show when Andrea learned of Supergirl's secret identity. It was only implied that she knew by the time of William's funeral.
It’s like William Fey said you can’t have it all at the same time and plus while I would’ve enjoyed seeing how Andrea handled the fact that Kara was Supergirl all along, before Cat Grant bought back her own company, this finale was already good enough on its own, even some of the episodes themselves had good writing even though the series as a whole has had a bit of a bumpy road, and I’m actually glad I watched this finale.

i do really enjoy the ending but when you think about it show-wise it doesn’t really make sense. in the episode where she got to go back in time and change when she told lena her secret there was one version of how the world would be if she revealed her identity and in that version basically all of her friends and family members got killed because of her revealing her identity so i just don’t get what changed and why this is now something she thought was a safe decision. plus kara would’ve never made a decision that would harm her friends and family.

I kinda expected her to go to the future with Mon el and the legion, it would have been a little too similar compared with JLU but this works as well. Cat introduced her to the world as supergirl and now she introduces her as Kara. It s gone full circle.

It actually reflects the current superman comics where superman reveal himself as Clark Kent/superman to the world.
Kara Danvers though makes more sense, as she made a effort to make supergirl as public as possible.

Melissa Benoist was a perfect Supergirl a bit on the scrawny side for someone who can throw around planets but still I think she just needed better writers and animators.
The cgi was infamously 💩 throughout the series and the writing wasn’t great either.

Okay, while I am so glad that the reveal of Cat Grant knowing Kara was Supergirl came, considering she’s known since season 1, I am beyond disappointed by this ending. There was no drive, no excitement, and the only penance that Lex and Nyxly get for their crimes is getting shoved in the Phantom Zone together? Did no one forget that Lex can just open up another portal and escape? Oy, the writing really went downhill and this show has become more interested in being filled with representation more than actually having a good story. Still, here’s to the end of Supergirl 🍺.

Aftermath: All of Kara's co-workers, associates, family, and friend will now be targeted by numerous villains. Supergirl will wind up with having even less freedom for herself trying to save even more people. She will no longer have the little peace she had in her former secret civilian life.
Way too much time spent on Alex and Kelly's relationship this season didn't really care about that ship. Anyways looks like Melissa was really crying there going to miss her as Supergirl

It was an honor Melissa Benoist playing as supergirl, but I'm gonna miss this.
The ending was very good, i'd say they did a pretty good job with it in a way, they couldn't have made it more powerful in terms of meaning, the series had many subjects and they probably didn't do much justice to the ending, because they didn't talk about the fact that Kara was miserable having to separate her 2 identities, but it was clear to us that it was actually an issue.
Having that said, i just have to say the least positive aspect which for me, i was disappointed, the fact that at the beggining they showed lots of moments of Kara, i think they kind of made it a bigger deal to make Supergirl a little more important than Kara, thus i appreciate the finale. I prefer Kara's moments over Supergirl's moments, just gotta love Kara being Kara.

The vision was forced back when there was the agents of liberty. So this timeline wise, that particular threat is nonexistent. Still doesn't mean there won't be others though

The pilot was considered a comedy when it came out. Never watched this show but I guess some people loved it.
TBH I'll admit, while it does send a good message to be true to yourself. I would have preferred if she went to the future with Mon-El and left an impact on the past as a grand hero that inspired people to be their own heroes. But also would have preferred it, if she and Mon-El got back together. IDK it would explain why Supergirl won't be seen much afterwards and why she won't be apart of the big crossover event. She just makes occasional visits to the past like the Legends, because everyone she knew in her life are on happier paths with their loose ends tied up.

I don’t doubt supergirl will show up. In fact with Sentinel, they might have Kara call in, six’s that isn’t hard to do. Record a video, get good lighting and put on some clothes. And if anything I wanna see a spin-off show called Supercorps and Friends. My hope for it would be that everything Supergirl and Superman could cross on there and it would be about everyone around Kara and not her specifically. Kara would have like half of a seasons time sprinkled the season(meaning she’s more a side character). While Clark can fill in the void as well as the league or guardian or Alex or John. And possibly design it more like a comic book style way, like Eric did with the flash but still make it feel like it’s in the supergirl lore
Absolutely not. She’d be leaving her entire family behind for a guy when she can do everything she can do in the future in the present with her FAMILY by her side. Thank god she didn’t leave and Mon-El isn’t ever coming back.
I still believe that Supergirl's series finale takes place before Superman & Lois' first season. At some point between them, there may be friction between Clark and Kara over her public outing hence why she has not appeared in Superman & Loir nor was she mentioned.
The general public don’t know Clark and Kara are cousins so this doesn’t affect him at all.
No, (Although it should be noted first The Flash, Supergirl, and BatWoman's timelines are ALL OVER THE PLACE mostly due to COVID) Superman and Lois (more specifically The Pilot) takes place Fall 2020, and Supergirl season 6 lasts from Summer of 2020-Late 2021, due to Brainy saying it's 2021 and Kara saying she's been Supergirl for six years. (like The Flash and BatWoman it's unclear when they did a year time jump) Also Diggle's appearances confirm it, with his order Superman and Lois, BatWoman, The Flash, and then Supergirl. I personally think when Brainy and Nia time traveled, they should've came back a year, just to match up with IRL time (also Brainy's joke about being a bad time traveler) also it doesn't effect Kara since time passes differently in the Phantom Zone.
The writers are simply taking different creative liberties. People want to believe they have some in-universe explanation like Crisis or some other bs, but truth is the writers and creative teams are just doing their own thing. Which is perfect.
That ending smile is perfect. But to be honest, I would like to see a special episode about the result of exposing herself (both Kara and supergirl). This season end too fast that I hope it can continue😭
