i have just got my new mk 8 gtd but cant work out how to set up the lowering of the mirrors when reverse, can you help or advise
You omitted two features:
1. The icons on all the IS screens can be rearranged etc, like on a mobile phone - touch, hold and move, additional screens can be added / deleted.
2. The dropdown menu - the shortcuts shown can be changed as before touch, hold and change, especially add the one for traction control.

Hi Jerry. Thanks for the video. Two days in with my new Golf and this helped a lot. One question please - how do I get the icon showing my favourite radio station on full screen so I can see the name of the artist / track etc. I managed this by accident when I first got the car but the media screen now goes back to the default scenario as per your video. Thanks
You cannot. And it doesn't show the song played either...👎
Is there any way to turn off the screen without turning off the radio? Can't find a setting for this.

Press the on / off button below the screen for turning off the sound.
Does Radio allow you to manualy tune the station by frequency?
also can I use the display with rotary buttons on this vehicle, I realy don't like the touch display, its hard to navigate while driving and rotary controls are faster, also what mib is this, is it MIB2, 2.5 or 3?

It won't save to the system unfortunately. I think it will need to be plugged in.
Where are u located (like what region car do u have)
I think u dont have DAB, so probably not in UK

Thanks for the comment. This is a New Zealand version so no DAB. I have done the FM part and it is identical to the AM.

You see, I would like to retrofit AM into my car, that for some reason is missing some part and even if I enable AM with my tools, it doesnt pick up any station look: th-cam.com/video/N230tgJciFo/w-d-xo.html
So thats why I am looking for cars that have AM so I could compare their wiring diagrams and find out what is missing on mine

Hi how do we change at what level the headlights are ? On my old golf there was a dial with 1,2 and 3. I can’t figure out how to do it on my new golf. They are quite low
Most new Golfs have got an adaptive headlight. The LEDs automatically change its leveling around corner, facing cars and etc. This is more advanced than the old one.
will the parking sensors stay off even if you shut off and re-start?
It will reset and comes back on as default.
please help where the phone call ends. I answer by pressing the OK button on the steering wheel for phone calls, and I can only end the conversation on multimedia. On OK I can't end the call
does the golf life infotainment have the same features of the gti and R ones?
Hi there, yes, most features are identical. This varies from different markets though.
is there a way to upgrade from 8inch to 10inch screen?
Not from VW as far as i know.

It should have USB type C connection. You need to buy a dongle to connect your USB stick.
Is it possible to use android auto f.ex. google maps and car stereo simultaniously?
Yes, you can use google map with car radio at the background.

It’s not tint. It’s actually privacy glass. That’s equal to be around 20% I believe.

TH-cam? Not possible.
The radio display and the off- CarPlay/AndroidAuto Media Player is horrible and cheap in the Golf 8. Even my 2009 Skoda Octavia showed the track title played on the radio. This doesn't. The Bluetooth media player (when not in AndroidAuto/AppleCar) also doesn't show song titles, artwork and you cannot skip the songs. 🤷♂️
it is probably related to your phone settings not allowing the unit to show your song information or skip songs. My phone connection is fine.
@@JerryPanandCars I'll check, but that wouldn't explain the poor Radio display though. Is there any way to put the radio station full screen? Showing the frequency and the song played?
Many cars do not display songs played anymore.
Sorry no idea how it works after third instruction to quick rather have buttons dials like my 3 yr old Tiguan
The huge black bezel/border around the screen screams budget manufacturer. Stick with the mk7.

I don’t own this car but I own a car with a screen that’s like this trust me you need a bezel because when you are driving your hand is wobbling all of the place on these screens. I end up leaning my can on the screen as a way of getting stability so that I can then press what I want to. If I had less stability I wouldn’t be able to use these things hardly at all

For NZ spec, the handbrake goes on and off automatically
