When creating a custom note view like I showed in my writing drums video, you lose the ability to move the notes up/down using the native shortcut.
This workaround script made by Luiza777 moves notes to the adjacent note lanes rather than strictly one semitone up/down.
Thank you sooo much Luiza777 for creating this! ❤️ tho I super hope REAPER fixes this issue natively one day~
⚙️ INSTALLATION
The script is available via Reapack.
Import Luiza777's repository: raw.githubuser...
The script is called "Transpose notes in Custom Note Order mode".
Once installed, it should appear in your actions menu (in the MIDI editor section) as:
"Script: luiza177_Transpose up to next note in custom view.lua"
"Script: luiza177_Transpose down to previous note in custom view.lua"

We can't be the only 2 people who need this workflow 😂😩 thanks for making this video!
Small note: this script was made to replace the native +/-1 semitone. So if you didn't change the order of the notes, it behaves just like the native action.
Here's to someday this script becoming obsolete!

Thanks for making all of these videos. This made me switch to REAPER. A lot of tutorials out there but so much content and your videos literally show all the really important stuff that actually bothered me. Also so much free user scripts. You know it's good when getting all of this free stuff feels illegal but it isn't. It's still gonna take a while to get used to REAPER but now I'm sure I'll main this DAW and absolutely rock it at some point thanks to you

When you move the midi note up and down on the midi map how do you avoid it from accidetently moving left and right…I found a work around which is to transpose the midi note up and down

Both take quite a few years to get the hang of, but the upside of astrophysics is that it doesn't fall apart when somebody stops maintaining a custom script.
You need a telescope for both though, in Reaper's case to read the menus if you're using a monitor made after 2009.
