I just fixed my caliber. I put a new fuse box in it (8$ from junk yard vs 750$ from dodge) and that didnt work. So i checked the realay block and sure shit it was the problem. I bought a relay block from the salvage yard after i found one and spent 100$ on 3 relays. The relays themselves were corroded also. And it started right up. Heres an easy way to check if your relay box is faulty. Use a light tester to check all your fuses in your box. If your ignition fuses dont work than check your relay box.
Just wanted to let you know this was exactly my problem. I've been having the starting issue for about a month now, and there was corrosion on the ground wire leading to my starter. Thank you sir!
Malloy Johnson sorry to hear. around here there is so many on the road. they are easy fixs after you figure it out. I like mine . yes I had some problems. cheaper to fix for me. Thanks Best wishes on your next set of wheels
so just to clarify something the mechanic that you did have he said it was beyond the scope of what he was able to do but that was because he didn't actually know that there was corrosion in the wiring harness what you found out later and was addressed by the dealership is that correct
infowarrior420 Hello He is a good. Cause it was not that easy to understand the problem. In stead of charging me hundreds of dollars to figure it out. He was great cause he said take it to the dealer . They will understand the problem faster . Because all the dealers he can tap into can give answers that save time and money. J&D have my business cause he is good and fair. Let's me know where he stands . That is affordable price to me to pay. That's what every customer should want is a fair person to do the right thing for you. The Dealer had it fixed in an hour . Charged me a fair price. So I love them both for being decent. Not cleaning my Bank account out. What do you want ?
Bruce VanBeek i have a 2007 dodge caliber. There has been starting problems and for me to start car i would have to jump start car. Or wait a long time for it to start up again. Any thoughts?
Ariel Mcnie Hello Sorry I've been busy . Gas filter . If it is slow turning over then you may want to look at the wiring above the Drivers side wheel. There is a trunk line with a black box of relays open and see if the are not corroded. The black box is behind the headlight. I hope you find the problem. Please let me know how you made out . Thank you
my next video. I took the fender off and head light. to gain full access to the wires. where digging into the wires I found many wires had a puncher holes in the wires. Where someone used a test light. they all corroded over time. I fixed them by cutting out and soldering together. watch the videos and see more.
The relay box fails. It's in front of the driver side tire. I've spoken with SRT and Dodge with no help. Dodge doesn't sell the box. You have to order the whole wiring for the front clip. $700. A local speed shop explained about SRT. The wiring could be from different years or a California version. Everything I've looked at had different colors than what we have. Dodge dealers can't produce a good schematic for this vehicle. I was told that these vehicles were only good for scrap. LOL. I need to get this kid back on the road. Does anyone have a photo of the wiring that goes into that box. We have 5 relays in it which is only the SRT4. Thanks. If I can get it going I will put out an easy fix for these.
Rich Biagioli Hello He don't give up so fast Jeep compass has same set up. I have like 9 videos . On wire and things. When you do go to fixing it . Leave enough wire so you can bring it up by the Battery .
Rich Biagioli One of my videos shows you all the wires. You will need to stop the video . All wires are color coded. I hope this helps you . If not let me know Ok . Best regards
Rich Biagioli How did you make out. Online you can find parts. When replacing make wires long enough to move it all up to the battery area. You should be in great shape it will stay dry there.

infowarrior420 hi
thank you brother
me too on my 2008 compass croded wired in relay. box under headlamp .not first time wiring harness needed fixed
Hi I put relays in a bag around them to help stop that,
Bruce how much did the dealer charge you
I fixed it myself. I couldn't afford to let dealer fix it.
If you need the dealer do it. Get a quote on total cost.
I went to the wreckers. Jeep liberty has the same setups
